The worst way to spend my money. I ordered the two-course menu and the portions couldn't make one all together. It had a gourmet kitchen, which we didn't enjoy at all given that we couldn't find any meat in the menu and we had to ask the staff to recommend us something that could at least soften our hunger. We had "something like hake" and "something like pizza", as the staff told us. By the time we crossed the bridge we had already burped it.

I am leaving a negative feed back after our experience at the restaurant and the way it was dealt by the manager. We felt really let down with both the service and food. Food was too salty. The meat was uncooked and tasted horrible. Service was very rushed. The waiter didn’t change the cutlery. We felt like we were in a canteen instead of a restaurant. The day after our stomachs were quite upset. After several days of phone calls and emails we finally got a reply from a manager who made us fill an endless report for nothing. Completely waste of time, money and a very bad tummy. I will never ever visit that restaurant again and will not encourage anyone to eat there.

Fantastic service on my birthday lunch with family. Food was superb. Special mention to Marissa our waitress who was attentive pleasant an efficient. When she heard it was my birthday brought a small plate of chocs with happy birthday message
Be the first to ReplyGood food and a great view
We were there for lunch during the Hilma af Klimt exhibition. The menu had Swedish dishes. Everything was very good. The view of St. Paul and the Thames is breathtaking. Make a reservation. The service was friendly and helpful. The wine is quite expensive, but good.
Be the first to ReplyTasty but Pricey
This was a very fancy restaurant, with prices to match. We were unable to reserve a table next the windows, nevertheless we had a nice view. The food was well presented, and tasty.
Be the first to ReplyThe Kitchen at the Tate Modern better than expected..
Very busy restaurant with small choice on the menu. The choices we made were delicious . Its called the Kitchen and not obviously sign posted. We gave our credit card details when booking and when bill received the basic price of meal was already debited. If you don't show up you will pay for the meal you didn't have.

Amazing place at the top of the building Light open and elegant Unusual menu but best food I have had in a long time outside a 5 star restaurant. Plentiful staff all very interested in what they are offering. Impressed with the allergen protocol they have everything documented and were able to to offer me a slightly modified dish that tasted perfect.

We had an ok experience at Tate Modern Restaurant Level 9. There are two options when you arrive: 1. Sit at a bar that faces out the window (great view!), but only has a limited menu or 2. sit at a full service table with a set 3 course meal. We chose the bar, and had some expensive crisps and sodas and a cheese board. The service was pretty unhelpful and unfriendly. Wouldn't really recommend unless you want the full meal experience. The views are great though.

Good food with lovely views over the Thames during a day at Tate Modern. We bought a lunch+exhibition ticket and it was perfect! Good was tasty and staff friendly, and since we were in a bit of a hurry to the exhibition, they made sure our foods came quick and we made it to the exhibition on time. Warmly recommended!

We had an excellent lunch, with great staff, a superb table and view. Really interesting choice of dishes. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent lunch and customer service!
Had the good fortune to have lunch as part of a package whilst visiting the Yayoi Kusama exhibition. From start to finish the experience was excellent. We were seated promptly and given a choice of tables. Although we weren’t overlooking the spectacular view across the Thames we could still appreciate the position and we were able to get some excellent pics. Our drinks and food order was taken efficiently and very personably by Erin, one of the wait staff who continued to make the whole experience a joy. The food was tasty, original and well presented. The wine & cocktails were good. Although the drinks weren’t cheap - you can expect that in a central London restaurant of this quality and in this position. Erin is to be congratulated on her exceptional customer service. The whole operation seemed to be very well managed, which was impressive to see, when in so many other ‘top’ establishments the service is so lacklustre. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending the restaurant to all our contacts. Best to book in advance I think as clearly very popular.
Be the first to Replystunning views; everything else could be better.
I visited there for a lunch on my own on a Saturday while visiting the museum. I had booked a table so was shown to a table without any wait, but it appeared that there was a long queue for walk-in guests. The view from the glass windows is stunning, and the restaurant may be worth a visit for this alone. This is quite true because all the other aspects were not that exciting. Nothing wrong with anything in particular: the waiting staff were polite and smiley, though they didn't seem to be familiar with the menu and could not answer my questions; the food was tasty enough but nothing to write home about; wine selection was okay but limited. And the coffee I was served was quite horrible. It was not cheap, either, and for that money there would be many more exciting things you could eat in this neighbourhood. After all I just wanted some food without having to leave the museum but getting away from the busy crowd, so I got that and that was fine, but the next time I'll just have tea (for coffee was undrinkable) and save my appetite for elsewhere.

We arrived at the Restaurant without a reservation while visiting the museum. On the positive side, the views were excellent. There were no tables available, so we sat at the counter along the windows. On the negative side, the restaurant was sold out of most everything by the time we arrived (not that late in the early afternoon). We were hungry and ordered what was left; they then lost our order. So after a long wait, we alerted them to the problem and they did their best to resolve it. We did eventually eat. The food wasn't memorable.

The lunch was excellent and the staff efficient and friendly. Lovely views over the Thames and City, especially if you are lucky enough to get a table on that side of the resturant
Be the first to ReplyPersonal, attentive service and outstanding food
Had the pleasure of having dinner here during December for my birthday, following a semi-private viewing of the Yanoi Kusama mirror exhibition, where you're treated to the gallery after hours and after the doors have closed to the public. It was such a treat. We'd emailed earlier in the day to move our dinner reservation forward by an hour, and had a reply within minutes. Nothing seemed too much bother in the restaurant, whether it was asking to move seats or alter an item on our order - no problem. The welcome at the door and from our waitress was warm and genuine and we both felt incredibly well looked after. The food itself was a seasonal menu, and I loved how it was themed against two of the exhibitions (including Japanese flavours to celebrate the Kusama exhibition). Both food and wine were fantastic, and in perfectly acceptable portions (I was full when I left!) and the service was attentive, speedy and personal. Of course the views of the river and the City are spectacular, but the food and ambience really spoke for themselves. I'd happily be back in a heart-beat - well done!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience
Took an extremely king time to be seated, despite having a table booked. Multiple wines weren’t in stock. Food tasted bland. Not very attentive staff, felt like we were forgotten about.
Be the first to ReplyTry to avoid if you can
The only worthy aspect of our experience was the stunning view of the Thames and St. Paul . Mediocre food , cold , under cooked. Mediocre service . Waiters who spend most of the evening chatting despite the crowed restaurant Delayed courses , mistakes with orders …. A sad , under whelming experience …. A clear indication of what London has become ?
Be the first to Replyfantastic view
Good atmosphere and nice staff. Sensible set menu ,not overpriced with service included. A great system as in many French restaurants where there is a choice of just 3 starters, mains & desserts but this means the management have confidence in what they are offering.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great time.
We visited this restaurant today. It was totally impromptu but they accommodated us. They had a set lunch menu with the selection of 3-4 dishes for starters, mains and desserts. I wish they were quicker with servicing the food, we waited for over 45mins for the starters and then another 30mins for the mains. The views were amazing.
Be the first to ReplyDrinks
We stopped in restaurant area for drinks after viewing some of the paintings. It’s our tradition to have wine always after visiting the Tate. It’s a lovely clean area with views across London. The wine is always very nice, they have a good selection.
Be the first to ReplyDon't go there if you are hungry or have kids
Odd menu. Trying to be different with little regard to taste. Small portions. Overpriced. Haughty staff
Be the first to ReplyA treat for all the senses
The 'eyes' have always had it on a visit to Tate Modern. Now, this restaurant adds votes from all your other senses. First, to remind you that you have not left a place dedicated to visual delight, the panoramic views reinforce the pleasure. But more sensory satisfaction wasn't far behind: from cool, crisp bouquet of the wine to the warm yeasty fragrance of the sourdough bread, followed by the artistic presentation of the plates of food that came after. The menu is not long, all the better to allow the kitchen to concentrate on the well-curated offerings. And all, unanimously from our table, delicious. Lovely food, professional and friendly service, and a wonderful feeling of comfort and relaxation despite the somewhat minimalistic setting.
But I can't award full marks because -- to be absolutely fair -- portions are really just a bit too small. At the price, a little more generosity would be not only welcome but, actually, appropriate too.
Most impressed
Food was good, excellent view, service provided by Federico was superlative. Price was slightly high though.
My visitor from New York, first timer, was most impressed and that's really nice.
Still fabulous
We enjoyed this restaurant so much we returned with special friends. It did not let us down the service and food were just excellent and our friends loved the view. Thank you.
