Superb Location
Non conventional menu-mixture of Chinese Thai and Japanese. Group of 5 provided tasting of multiple dishes. Service a bit mixed.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive
It is an expensive place (17.5EU for cocktail), but I still give it a good review because of the service. It's been long time since I saw such a professionally good service. If you order a wine - they offer you a taste first. If you ask for a glass of water - they refill it a minute after you drink more than a half of it. Constant checking if everything is satisfactory. And I don't remember any other place to have such a good smell in the toilet (fresh flowers everywhere and a strong smell of levander). But my Norwegian salmon could have been better, considering how much I paid for it.

Felt like a rip off. 500 noc for 4 strips of “waygu” which tasted more like any old beef. Service was quite mediocre too…. The venue was nice, and thats about it
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and interesting food
If I had read the recent TA reviews beforehand, I might have avoided this place. But after finding variius other restaurants in the area fully booked (despite warnings this was not usually an issue here) we gave Ling LIng a try. The location is wonderful with great views of the bay. NO DJ was playing. The welcome and service was good throughout and the food interesting and different. We had the king crab and duck salads to start, which were both well presented, tasty and very refreshing, For mains, we had halibut cooked with honey and roast duck with a truffle sauce, Both were lovely dishes, although they come on their own so you need some sides to make them complete dishes. The asparagus side was wonderful. Yes it is pricey, but many are in that area and your are paying for the location, which is wonderful on a nice evening.
Be the first to ReplyRip-off tourist trap!
What a rip off tourist trap! How our waiter touted the Peking duck — so the four of us ordered it to share. Our waiter explained that it would be served as two courses, the first traditional with crispy duck and veggies inside pancakes and the second cooked further and served with the sauce and noodles or rice of our choice. The verdict — first course: delicious! second course: disaster. Yea do have to add that the dim sum were delicious, but they did not make up for the surprise bill we got. Double what we expected! We knew we had ordered a single duck, but they prepared two of them for us, which we couldn’t even finish. And thus billed $400, rather than $200 for the duck; the manager refused to credit us much, telling us that the waiter told us in advance, but he did not. Sad experience for our last night in Oslo.

Had a late dinner with 2 friends outside. The restaurant doesnt offer full meny outside, only small eat like Duck roll and Pumkin Puff. The small eat was awesome, but the drinks are barely avarage. Had Mojito, and its one of the worst Mojitos in town. Combined with high prices this restaurant is barely recommendable. They need to raise the skills of their bartender, and i might come back.
Be the first to Reply无礼歧视
以为身为华人,试一试Oslo的华人餐厅会不错。但没进门前就被waitress无礼对待,把后来的本地人先招待,然后对我们说没位了。失望透顶。先到先得的礼仪并没遵守,希望老板会留意。 Incredibly unprofessional. Will not even try the food if the reception is already bad. Restaurant opposite offers better customer service.

Friendly service in the bar when we had to wait for our booked table. Atmosphere great with full house of happy people.Good vibe but a bit too loud music. Friendly service all night. Nice food. Had the dumplings.
Be the first to ReplyFeels defeated
I organized and invited friends so this first time to everyone and it’ll be our last. I did blame myself for not checking the review before book the table now I feel defeated and do kot want anyone else to have the uncomfortable feeling for an event that suppose to be memorable nice. Please consider other place if you are hungry, the food take too long you will not wanted hungry and angry when the dining should be nice one. My biggest disappointment, I have ordered 1/2 pecking duck whick cost kr.999, it came out pretty with two waitresses to attend, one bring extra table and the other one rsponsible for the duck ( nice prsentation) BUT then start disappointment, they served duck crunchy skin was placed on kind of tortilla with diameter 10cm so it looks like mini pizza and cut in 4, that was appetizer and duck brought back to kitchen. I even asked where is my duck? If i paid kr.999 I want to eat the way I like, sucking the bones, enjoying the skin, whatever but I should the one decide … over half hour come main course, so duck was chop and boneless then stir fry the result is NOT one full plate oh no, itwas arround 250gr steer fry duck. Rice is extra order otherwise that is all. I was still hungry and order stirfry brocoli also disappointment, get myself dessert, coffee, cocktail leave resto with cost me kr1800 and i am craving in the kitchen for food when arrived home. Totally in my opinion will no recommend my kins and friends to LingLing. You will end the night by complaining and it’s not worthed after effort and plan for having memorable gathering.
Be the first to ReplyTotally overprized!
Ling Ling serves good and tasty food, but can definetely not defend their price level. A tasting menu for 988NOK per person is way beyond acceptable price level for what they serve. Add a quiet expensive wine list too, and you have a pricey restaurant experience with limited charm.
We visited Ling Ling on the Wednesday 8.th of December, and the restaurant was almost empty due to new and more strict corona-restrictions. The service was friendly, but the speed of the serving raised the question; Do they want us to leave quickly so they can close the place...?
In fact, the speed and the way they served our tasting menu this evening had a rude tempo. We were served all main courses at the same time, and some of the food turned almost cold before we managed to eat it. Based on the fact that they had only 5-6 tables occupied, they should be able to run a much better logistics. This was really disappointing, Ling Ling.
Terrible service!
Absolute WORST restaurant experience in Oslo. By far. Looks like a cool place. Fancy spot. DJ place with way to loud music. Party of 8 ppl. Starters was served together with the Main course. They messed up the main order completely. Food was missing, and when we asked, we were met with an attitude from the vaitor, making it sound like we messed up. Food was decent, but way overpriced. Nothing included. The bill was 6000nkr and when we asked to split it, we were once again met with an attitude and told that they had no idea what we ordered, so we would have to do the math ourselves. We did, and finally got to pay seperately. But of course, that was wrong as well, and the total they asked for was over what we had calculated. Then, when we asked to see the receipt, we were told that "by accident" a few drinks were added to our tab that we did not order. They reimbursed that and then we left. Never coming back. Stay away.
