This is our absolute favorite place in Cleveland!! The lobster ravioli is the best dish on the menu! Cavatelli is our second choice for dinner. We have been here so many times for birthdays and celebrations. Sacchetti and mussels are my two favorite appetizers. Highly recommend this Italian restaurant! Yummy wine, food and desserts!!!
I recommend Luca West, East, North and South.
The Ambiance is absolutely out of this world. I give thanks to my daughter for introducing this restaurant to me on my birthday. Iris
Poor service, very underwhelming experience
Overall, seriously underwhelmed. Food was fine, but service was not. From the valet, to the hostess, to our server, nobody was welcoming or friendly. We had drinks, appetizers, and mains and were rushed by servers so did not order desserts. We left an item behind and called and left a message to request a return call, but nobody ever called us back. My husband had to call again and was told no items were left (he said he wasn’t sure anyone even checked the safe), so we had to cancel our credit card. We do not recommend and would not return.
The "view" was the parking lot.
The server was inconsiderate. Basically rushing us through just so they can turn the table. Took away plates while others were still eating. Reached over guesstimate without even saying "pardon me". Food was expensive and not the best Italian meal I ever had.

Most authentic italian food in cleveland and everything is made from scratch. Love the saccetti so much or however you spell it, not sure. Also great service. I would highly recommend this amazing ambient space for dinner.

This review is hard to write because the appetizer was amazing. I got the truffle pasta with balsamic. It was probably one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The stars go to this dish. My entree was a halibut special topped with crab meat. The halibut was good but every other part of the dish was not. Ice cold mushy gray and watery crab on top. Roasted potatoes that tasted sour? A pan sauce that was very strange tasting too. I can't even tell you what kind of sauce it was supposed to be. That's how odd it was. I couldn't believe it was $55. Not worth it in my opinion. Server was wonderful though. Maybe this is the type of place where you should just stick to the pasta.

This was a place I wanted to check out based on their reviews. We had just got into town and were starved so we stopped in to see how their Happy Hour was. That one night has definitely turned into many nights when we are in town. This is our go to first pick! I have an Allium allergy. Which always makes my dining experience more stressful. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. They worked with the Chef to figure out what options I had which I was thrilled to have a few. They get pretty busy but always manage to stay on top of things. The kitchen runs efficiently and everything they serve looks and tastes delicious on a consistent basis. I was so excited to be eating Italian food not made in my own kitchen. They have a nice Wine and Cocktail list. Back to the food. We tried a lot. The Calamari - Amazing. Not fried, Perfectly cooked every time. Tender with a little spice, sometimes a lot of spice. My first visit I had it with the red sauce that did not contain any ingredients I couldn't have. Since then it has had Onion so I have had an olive oil based sauce with a pinch of red pepper. Good as well but not as delicious as the red sauce which is my favorite. Carpaccio Di Salmone- This was one of my favorites. Perfectly balanced with the brininess of the Capers. It is not only delicious and fresh but beautifully presented. Caprese- It's Caprese. Tasty and fresh ingredients. Mussels- Good . I liked other things more. Don't forget the Bread. Their bread is amazing. So splurge and have some! As far as Entree's.... Cavatelli Al Bolognese - Delicious, well made. My husband liked it. I could not personally try it. Penne Alla Vodka- This is his favorite. Creamy, Delicious, with a kick from the red pepper flakes. He orders this every time. For me. On our first night I was able to get the red sauce that goes into the Calamari which I was told was made without any of my allergens. It was amazing. On subsequent nights, this was not the case. I had to order plain noodles some nights to eat with my calamar which was decent. This past visit I was told the Champagne Cream Sauce was safe so I ordered that. It was also delicious! Tiramisu- We finally ordered dessert. We got it to go. It was amazing. One of the best I've had. Another thing to add to the list of things we have to get when we come in. I know the restaurant name is changing soon. I'm hoping the menu won't. Why mess with perfection. We look forward to dining here when we return in a couple of months. I'm giving five stars due to the delicious food, consistency and service.
Good food, but service left something to be desired.
The place is beautiful, a very varied menu and a great wine list. Our dish was delicious, but the service left something to be desired. We hadn't made a reservation, and both the hostess and the table attendant showed little patience. We didn't feel comfortable in the restaurant.
One of my go to spots for Italian food.
I've never had a bad meal from here. The only drawback is you have to make reservations if you want a seat especially on a weekend. I

This is by far my husband's and my absolute favorite Italian restaurant in all Cleveland. Some of the best food around and the service and staff is always impeccable.
Oustanding Dinner Experience
We came here for my wife's birthday. I wanted something special and it was--one of the best culinary experiences I've had in Cleveland. The staff was outstanding; our server was Donald. He made a great recommendation on the wines. We couldn't decide on entrees so he asked if it would be OK if he surprised us; knowing that we are vegetarian, he had the kitchen prepare two half-portions of pasta. This was above and beyond. The food was so decadently good. Appetizers were good--although the eggplant was undercooked and a bit chewy. The main courses were outstanding. The setting is beautiful with views of the Cuyahoga River and the seagulls flying around in the black sky. There is valet parking and self-park. All in all, a really special experience.

The friendly staff made my birthday very special with a complimentary dessert, and taking a framed picture for me to keep as a nice keepsake. The downtown city view was spectacular from our table and the dining room was very cozy.
The steaks were pretty good, but the pasta is too die for.
Definitely recommend going for the pasta. The ambiance is nice for a date and the service was good. A must try for pasta in Cleveland
Loved the food, loved the service. Veal was prepared perfect. This is the place to go and worth trying.
This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to in years. Loved everything about this experience. This is the some of the best veal I have had in years.
Eccellente!
This restaurant was rated in the top 10 restaurants in Cleveland to visit. It earned its spot with my husband and I! We would rate it #1 for Italian food. The food was amazing and the service matched. Lisa took amazing care of us with a smile and we were in awe watching Scary work the restaurant. Both true assets. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Meets its press clippings
Of all the first-time restaurants we’ve dined at in 2023, this has been by far the best! View is great; ambiance terrific; hospitality is first class; the food delicious. Shout-out to Merita who waited on us—knowledgeable and professional. There’s so many good places to eat in Cleveland that it’s tough to get back for a second visit, but this place is going into our regular rotation.
Beautiful Experience
An excellent experience. I would highly recommend this menu, hospitality and the environment. I give this rating an A+++
Terrible
Went to Luca this evening expecting a good meal and atmosphere based on prior reviews and local recommendations. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a large group of extremely loud men. We couldn't hear a conversation between ourselves because of the noise level caused by them, and the language became vulgar and intolerable. We politely complained and while wait staff seemed sympathetic, they nor manager did anything to remedy the situation, and no offer to move us was made. We eventually left table ourselves (with verbal insults from the aforementioned table - and zero intervention from the restaurant staff) and requested another, which we received. Thereafter service noticeably declined. When we inquired about the behavior of the lude customers the waiter stated it happened all the time. We asked what was done about it - blank smile. Food was nothing spectacular, but to be fair good. Checks came (very incorrectly for our simple split check between three couples - our waiter worked with pen and paper, no point-of-sale tech - not that that is necessary, but please get it right whatever system you choose to use) with zero compensation for the terrible dining experience. Asked manager why we didn't receive at least some reduction and she simply said if we received our food, we should pay full price. While leaving we overheard manager complaining loudly that we were a problematic group of customers - for simply requesting a nice meal in a reasonable atmosphere? Terrible experience overall. Bottom line - likelihood of bad dining experience largely outweighs potential for a good meal. Go elsewhere friends. My two cents.
Very inviting, excellent food and wonderful service!
We have been here several times over the years as we live on the west coast but visit family in the area. This has been a favorite of ours since we first dined here. We were very excited to visit Luca again and the restaurant did not disappoint. The wine list is very deep although many of wines I am not familiar with and I know my Italian wines pretty well. We were expecting to order a Tignanello based on the wine list posted on Open Table. However when we reviewed the wine list the price was $230 vs. the $168 shown on Open table. We opted instead for a Zenato Ripasso Valpolicella which was really good. The bread here is off the charts and comes from a bakery in the Westside Market. For starters we had carpaccio and a sacchetti pasta. Both were excellent. my wife ordered a special which consisted of saffron risotto and twin 8 ounce lobster tails. Fantastic! I ordered the Veal Milanese which I thoroughly enjoyed. Service was very friendly and professional. Love the ambiance. highly recommend!
Overcharged And Ignored
What a breathtakingly, unscrupulous restaurant !!!!! It is now almost May and I still have not had any resolution to them charging our credit card for more than the amount agreed to by us. Yes, it was only $6.00 but that's not the point. No restaurant should change more than the amount submitted to your credit card and authorized by the customer, and then have the audacity to refuse to do anything to correct it. I started calling them in November when I saw the discrepancy on our American Express statement. I left several message on their designated billing prompt with no reply, so I called their other property Aqua Di Luca, where we had a nice meal. They answered the phone, unlike this place and gave me an email address, which came back blocked. I finally reached a manager Scott at this restaurant after several calls. I old him of the error and gave him all the info on my receipt. I offered to email it to him, but he said no need he would correct it, this was 12/2/22. He also gave me the managers email Margaret.Gilgallon@lucawest.com I emailed her several times with no response. I found a name on our American Express statement listed with the charge, Kelly Gatchell. I emailed her and it came back blocked. Ms. Gilgallon's never came back so I assume she got them, but she didn't care to do anything about it. I could report them to American Express, but figured they are not worth anymore of my efforts or time. Our food was good, bartender Liz especially. It is somewhat cramped and dark, but we enjoyed the food. What I DO NOT enjoy is a restaurant that has no regard for their customers. They don't deserve my business or yours!! My rating is terrible because that is how they treated me regarding this easily fixable matter.

Arrived to dinner here for our second time and it was great good food good drinks service was also good very knowledgeable great atmosphere on Saturday evening valet parking $10 we'll be back again

The food is tasty but someone lifted the $200 tip we left from our large party, which meant we had to pay an EXTRA $200 tip. The waiter was a bit rude and was difficult to capture his attention. Furthermore, I specifically asked for a HALF order and was served a regular course without me knowing. They do not have an ATM machine and some of our party had to leave to go get cash. Given the size of our party and how we made our registration, we were regulated to only pay via one check. What should have been a delightful birthday party was stained by poor service and unwieldy rules.
First time to Luca and loved it.
The food was excellent and our waiter, John, was absolutely fabulous. He provided us with exceptional recommendations and service. We will be back and we will request John as well!
Perfect for a romantic date night or to celebrate a special
Perfect for a romantic date night or to celebrate a special occasion! Lovely ambience and view of cleveland. Wanted to try everything on the menu! Carpaccio di manzo: would get if you want an appetizer not as filling but still flavorful and richOssobucco Di Vitello: the veal was so juicy and soft that you didn't need a knife to cute the meat. If I were to get it again, I would get a carb or pasta on the side to complement the meatiness Vitello Alla Milanese: the breaded veal with the cottage cheese/balsamic was the perfect combination of flavor savory/crunch and tangy/sweetnessRavioli Di Aragosta: squid ink pasta was delicious, however it didn't blow my mind away like the veal dishes.
Great meal! Six of us enjoyed superb Italian cuisine.
Not cheap, but worth the price!!

I was taken here for my birthday as a surprise and what an amazing choice by my fiancé! The ambiance is perfect for special occasions. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night and bread was presented to the table. Our server was Jim and we just loved him! He was patient and gave us the specials, of which scallops were listed. I chose them and i am so glad i did because they were absolutely delicious! My fiancé chose the filet mignon, and i had a bite but was really partial to my dinner! As it was my birthday, they were so sweet and offered the house made tiramisu. It was delectable! We drove in from Toledo and i am so glad we did. I almost forgot to mention the Sacchetti Al Tartufo Bianco that we enjoyed as an appetizer! If you only have one fine Italian dining experience in your life, choose Luca!
Five star experience here.
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The views of downtown are beautiful here. I think I died and went to heaven when I had a bite of the sacchetti bianco. The tiramisu is also ridiculous. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner. Thank you Luca!
We went for happy hour on my birthday and sat at the bar.
The happy hour menu is quite reasonable with generous portions. The martini I had was expertly mixed. We went for happy hour because we had spent the day at the Rock Hall so we're dressed a little too casual for the restaurant but seemingly fine for the bar. Dessert too was magnificent. Just a great evening!

Had a wonderful dinner last night at Luca! First time there and it was delicious. The food was exceptional and our waitress Lisa was the very best. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive! Will definitely come back! Thank you for making our night great!
This review is based on their happy hour.
Great spot for happy hour. I believe that you have to be sitting at the bar to take advantage of it. Great prices for a nice, modern Italian restaurant. The cocktails were around $7, beers even cheaper. I tried a few and they were all amazing. For the food, we had the seafood pizza, veal pasta and mussels. The veal was definitely the star of the night, but all of the food was pretty darn good.Bartender was really friendly. Conversed with us a bit and gave us recommendations on both food and drinks.I'd be curious to try this place out for normal dinner, but I for sure will be returning here for happy hour. Hard to beat the price to quality of both the food and drinks!
The lobster ravioli is top notch.
Decent amount of lobster. It's $35 not the price point on yelp. Tried the strawberry mojito which was good but I do like my drinks on the sweeter side. We had an early dinner reservation so was able to snag a parking space but it's very limited and I believe $10 for valet
