Our large group tried many items on the à la carte menu.
There are signs of brilliance (cauliflower, lobster, sweetbread, St Pierre, the amuse-bouches). The food is very good, deserving of its 1 Michelin star and 17/20 Gault&Millau rating. Some may find certain dishes a bit too sweet. Service is professional, although on several occasions we were wondering where our wine was. Talented and friendly chef Julien Dumas appears frequently in the dining room to talk to guests - a real bonus!

Had the big tasting menu both times. Probably both of the best meals I've ever had, albeit probably the priciest. I wasn't entirely enticed by the menu at first glace, but in tasting it, it blew my mind. Really good for a celebration or classy night out. Caters to vegetarians upon request.
Be the first to ReplyWe ate on the main floor, the $$$$ part of the restaurant.
Nothing about the meal was "wow", unique or impressive. All of the food was mediocre and at that price point, there are way better meals to have. Our hotel concierge made the reservation for us for our anniversary. We arrived at the restaurant, and we were likely the only English speakers at the place, definitely the only non-white customers in the restaurant as well. I don't know if that's why the service was short but at a place like this food and service need to be 5 star. Towards the middle of our meal, the chef went and talked to every single table, but opted to skip ours which was very obvious when he went to the other 10 occupied tables. Not like we cared to meet him, but its just rude. Overall, skip this one on the list. Try L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon instead. We've been a number of times in Paris (both locations) and they never disappoint. Wish we would have skipped this one and done the same.

Absolutely elegant, warm yet minimal room with a long table great for large parties to celebrate. It's French. It's Paris. It's warm. Wine flows. The quintessential Parisian experience.
Be the first to ReplyI went here for lunch Spring 2016.
The downstairs restaurant was deserted, and very miserable.I chose the upstairs "cafe", which is typically full of atmosphere, as it is normally French who go there. I was the only non-French on my day.Having eaten at Tour d'Argent the previous day, my expectations were high. But why not? This is supposed to be a serious restaurant.Utterly disappointing! Service was OK for a normal place, but not for a top eatery. The food was bland in the extreme. The glass of wine I had was best drunk quickly.Should have gone to Le Colibri on the other side of the square.(P.S. Tour d'A was terrific!)

Food was good, slow service and the environment was much more casual than expected. Again disappointed in the service and quality of food for Michelin star restaurant. Service was slow, our party was moved to the upstairs private room making service horrible in a very hot room. You could show up in shorts/jeans and shirt to get service still. Showed up thinking that slacks and a shirt minimum were required, wearinf a suit but no tie to see a gentleman in white shorts and ed hardy shirt being seated. They attempt an upscale environment with cheesy bow ties and a snobby smile, when we sat we waited 30 minutes just to order wine and when asked what we wanted to order it was before we could even ask questions about the menu. When a tasting just says tasting, the customer might actually want to know what items are part of the tasting.Food was very good, but not suprisingly good or better than other restaurants i experienced in France. Not worth the time or price, however if you do eat here I would recommend the foie gras, and pistachio pigeon.
Be the first to ReplySO overrated.
I'd want to give this place3 stars for the food but given the price no way. This place for the stuffy dusties.

Went to this place for dinner on my last night in Paris and afterwards, I wished I hadn't. First of all, if you go to this restaurant, be ready to pay a lot of money. It is quite expensive but I am not sure why. Second thing, the staff can be kind f rude. The server who worked with me primarily was okay but some of the others were just comically rude. Third and final point, the food plain sucked. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. That said, make sure you do stop by the Patrick Roger chocolate store window on your way. The things that they sculpt with chocolate really are amazing.

Just had a wonderful 25 Anniversary dinner here with my wife. We skipped entrees, and went right for the main course as my wife was not that hungry. I had the chicken, and she had the roast pig in curry. I know the chicken was perhaps the best I've had in 10 or 15 years, and Mary said the pork was excellent. The suggested wine pairing was wonderful. After an amuses bouchée, we had dessert. Mary had the white peaches, and I had the cake with strawberries, in my case paired with a wonderful 2011 Muscat. I just wish this restaurant was a few thousand miles closer to home
Be the first to ReplyThe WORST dinner ever.
We had our NYE here and it could not have been more awful. Service was horrific. They forgot that one in our party was a vegetarian and once reminded were unapologetic. They forgot to get us more water and opened a second (pricey) bottle of wine without asking. It was seriously a bad dream. It took 40-50 minutes between courses and often 20 minutes to clear our plates. The food was mediocre at best. They acted annoyed to have us in the restaurant. Avoid at all costs. There are so many fantastic restaurants in Paris... Why risk it?!
