Highly recommended with attention to quality!
What a nice place with very tasty dishes and personal service. Every dish was tasty and clearly made with love for the ingredients. We had the prosciutto and the burrata as a starter and then a beautiful cavatelli with meatballs. Simply great in terms of taste. The Michelin mention is therefore justified in terms of taste. Furthermore, an energetic atmosphere, a bit on the loud side, but not disturbing. One to remember.

Average food can’t believe this is a Michelin star restaurant. The food portions is for children/toy dog portions. Pasta is cheap I don’t understand the small portions. Wine is average. Been here 2x and I am done.

We had a great meal here -- did the tasting menu. We especially loved the amuse bouche pork sandwich and the various pasta dishes. The service was great, especially Marlo!
Be the first to ReplyDo not miss!!!
My husband and I had dinner here on Easter. The restaurant itself was rustic and cozy, but trendy. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was not fussy, but it was some of the best Italian I've had. The prosciutto was fabulous! The pasta was clearly homemade and the sauce and meatballs were delicious. The chicken was so moist and tasty. Let's not forget the drinks! The signature cocktails were so good and the wine list impressive. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu! Definitely will be back when we visit again.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing ambience and authentic Italian food!
Amazing vibe and authentic Italian food. The manager and server were very understanding with my allergies and worked with the chef to ensure my dinner was allergy free! The ambiance allows for a vibey experience...great for a date night. Reminded me of my trip to Italy. Seems like a go-to spot for Miami locals. Make a reservation pr you might have to wait! Food: MEDITERRANEAN BRANZINO & TAGLIOLINI AI FUNGHI Drink: PROSECCO, LOVO MILLESIMATO 2022 (Veneto) Signing off, The Allergy Queen

Fabulous lasagna! So good! Also the eggplant parm was a delight. Service was good and attentive. Nice ambiance. We had our meal in the garden room in back and it was nice for couples. The restaurant inside was lively and hip. Either way the food was awesome!

This very popular restaurant has a hugely contemporary vibe. However, be forewarned that the acoustics are horrendous in the restaurant and you will be screaming above the banter of your surrounding neighbors if you choose to sit inside when the restaurant is to capacity. If you want a hip place then this will probably meet your needs, but if you want to potentially lose hearing capacity in the interest of dining out, then this is the place for you. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation and although the staff were apologetic, they seemed completely disorganized and the interior is very tight between tables. Our servers were very hospitable and nice, but... was the food so incredibly good that we felt compelled to return? in summary - nope. This Italian restaurant prides itself by having several dishes piled with 10 g of black truffle for $45 per dish (black truffle supplement). I thought this was overdone, silly, and excessive. You don't need 10g of truffle to impart the effect. Was the food good? Yes, but it did not make up for the complete lack of ambiance, late seating, disorganization, and horrific acoustics. Thanks for trying, Macchialina, but we will not return.
Be the first to ReplyThe best GF pasta I’ve ever had
This place is clearly a known spot by locals - it’s rammed every night. But for good reason, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was awesome and the drinks were great. Oh, and the food was, well, bloody fantastic. I genuinely think it’s the best GF pasta I’ve ever eaten. I genuinely want to come back to Miami just so I can eat here again.

Welcoming place, friendly staff, the absolutely Italian Manager knows how to pamper her guests, I recommend the Burrata with a delicious melange of tomatoes and spices with an excellent flavor and the Parma Ham.
Be the first to ReplyMacchialina’s - a very good neighborhood Italian restaurant
Open for many years on Alton Road near 8th Street, Macchialina’s has consistently very good food. As usual, it was packed full on a recent Saturday night (Note: parking is very difficult in this part of Miami Beach, and outdoor seating has limited “cover” which left us with wet seats and occasional overhead drizzle). The menu frequently changes (Note: on this visit, the menu was lacking some of our favorites: eggplant parmigiana; gnocchi with tomato sauce & shrimp, etc); we enjoyed: Bread course - tasty rustic bread Cocktails - Margarita (very good); Rye Manhattan (somewhat harsh) Mushroom pasta - very good Lobster pasta Fra daviolo - spicy; delicious! Bread pudding (chocolate/ banana) - very good along with ricotta ice cream (unusual) While disappointed with wet seating, somewhat confused service, and menu absence of some of our favorite choices, we still had a fine meal and will definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyChill place, good drinks, decent food
Cool Vibes. Went here based on reviews and ratings. Had to wait at 930ish on a Monday night, bar was full as was restaurant. Hostess seemed nice and responsive. Service was good once I got seated. Food was pretty good. Had the fresh bread rolls but was surprised that they came with out any dip, butter, or even olive oil. Had the cacio e pepe, was pretty good, not blow away. Cocktails were done right, very tasty and inventive. Annoyed that they charged for gratuity and then hand you bill with suggestions for gratuity, seems like a grift for tourists but also seems like it’s common practice all over Miami. Would return if in SoBe.

Chef Michael Pirolo has fashioned a vibrant trattoria in Miami Beach's bustling South Beach neighborhood by presenting rustic Italian recipes and hand-made pasta in a stylish, brick-walled setting. Located at 820 Alton Road, it is open from 6 to 11 Monday through Thursday and 5 to 11 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My half-Italian wife and I always are looking for good Italian restaurants while traveling throughout the country. We love to compare spaghetti and meatballs, meat ravioli, lasagna, Osso Bucco and any veal dish. Not to mention minestrone, tiramisu and cannoli. Macchialina checks all the boxes. And it gets an added plus with Branzino on the menu. My wife and started with salami, prosciutto and cheese with puffed bread. For an entree, my wife chose veal parmigiana with mozzarella, oven dried tomatoes and parmigiano with potatoes and broccoli. I always order Branzino when it's on the menu. We were introduced at an Italian restaurant in Sarasota, Florida, in 2018, a meaty and tasty Mediterranean sea bass a la Lake Superior whitefish. I've been hooked ever since. Pirolo's version included crushed potatoes, artichoke and tomatoes with a side of meatballs. Delicious. For dessert, we shared a huge helping of bread pudding with Sullivan Street brioche, bananas, hazelnut crumble and bitter chocolate. If you are looking for a creative Italian restaurant in Miami, this is the place.
Be the first to ReplyGood restaurant
Had dinner here last week and overall had a good experience with our group of 8. The garden is beautiful and I highly suggest sitting outside if the weather is nice. Service is great and friendly. Food itself is pretty good overall: we had cacio de pepe, lobster with pasta, branzino, lasagna, and there was another seafood dish I can't remember. Additionally, we had several desserts (I didn't partake so can't comment on those). There were a few issues with the food including the lobster being chewy, and one of the pastas being overly salty. Additionally, we didn't get any bread which I thought was odd for an Italian restaurant. Prices are also pretty substantial so be prepared for that.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Italian Resturant
One of the best Italian spots in South Beach. On par with Carbone and Casa Tua. The pasta is quite good I love the bread pudding, its a must have for the dessert.
Be the first to ReplyDINING IN STYLE
Neat cozy atmosphere with inside and outside dining areas. My wife and I like pasta dishes, especially the gnocchi and lasagna. We wash it down with a red wine. We only come here on weekdays and get here early for dinner. Parking can be a challenge. Usually we have to do some walking, but it's worth the effort. Very tasty food. Excellent service.
Be the first to ReplyMacchialina - excellent Italian cuisine for many years!
Located in an inconspicuous strip mall setting (on Alton Road near 8th Street on Miami Beach), Macchialina’s has the feel of a small Italian trattoria with REALLY GOOD ITALIAN FOOD! All tables were full on recent December Saturday night (reservations are a “must”), and enjoyed the following items: Good cocktails (a Margarita, a a Scotch “Nona’s” whiskey sour Gnocchi with shrimp in a tomato sauce - MUST TRY exceptionally delicious!! We split this as an appetizer course - - light-as-clouds gnocchi (lightened w/ ricotta cheese) - yum!! Eggplant parmesan - delicious Veal parmesan - delicious (& sizable!) entree Tiramisu - good All-in-all homemade fresh delicious Italian food. We’re certain to return (& hopefully soon!).
Be the first to ReplyWe went back three times
This was far and away the best place we went to in South Beach but also the best place we have been in a long time! We went three times on our trip - the last time we acted like we lived there! The food was fresh, creative, tasted divine and the service was impeccable.
Be the first to ReplyYummy!
Food was fantastic. I order bolognese just about every time I eat at an Italian restaurant and this was the best I have ever had. Worked out well that 3 of 4 people at our table also got it. DH had the pasta with chanterelles and also said it was delicious. Wines were a bit on the pricy side but everything we had was good. Service fee is included in the bill so just be aware. We sat outside and the the patio was really beautiful.

If you decide to try this restaurant Do not miss the polenta with mushrooms, it was amazing… it’s a 10+
The tuna tartar was ok…… I will say it was a 6
The entrees were a pasta called: Cavatelli Macchialina (meatballs and porchetta) it was yummy and the other one was Bronzino which was simple but yummy too with a special mashed potatoes.
Our drinks were Big trouble… it was fresh… kind of sangria tasty: it’s an 8 and Medicina de la madre it was good.
As a dessert a great and freshly homemade tiramisu with cappuccinos!! I know… we were really hungry!!! Lol
Lovely atmosphere and great service.
Absolutely Delicious
Macchialina was probably one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. We started off with the Prosciutto and Pecorino that was served with Gnocco Fritto. The Prosciutto was sliced thin and was absolutely delicious. I had never seen Gnocco Fritto, which is best described as a puffed bread. This is a must to order. The creamy polenta was served with a wild mushroom ragu and so tasty, it reminded me of my Great Grandmom’s recipe. I decided to go old school and had the veal parmigiana. The portion was large and I really enjoyed it. I ordered a flight of Grappa, which was house infused and exceptional. To finish we ordered tiramisu. The tiramisu was served in a jar and had an iced topping which was so different but good. The only unusual part about this restaurant is that if you sit on the back patio, you have to walk along the street outside to go into the restaurant to use the bathroom. I didn’t mind but I could see how others wouldn’t like it.

This restaurant is so special. My fiance and I had the most magical night, mostly thanks to our wonderful server, Joshua! He perfectly articulated the incredible wine list, explained the detailed amaros on the dessert menu, and made us feel so comfortable that we ended up having a three-hour meal! At his suggestion, we went for the Chef's Tasting Menu which allows you to try ALL the menu highlights at a really great price. Joshua helped us pick a super tasty natural wine and guided us through each dish that arrived. He was so wonderful and this spot is a gem.
Be the first to ReplyBest meal in Miami Beach
We spent a long weekend in Miami Beach and at at Macchialina on our last night. It was out best meal by far. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. The pasta with mushrooms was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant. Really nice friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely wonderful. Outdoor setting was lovely, service was excellent, martinis were perfect and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat cozy restaurant. Yummy food. Just please change the annoying loud electronic background music.
Sat at the bar. Olivia made us beautiful Manhattans. Ryan was a great waiter/made great recommendations. Food was delicious. Baratta appetizer, half portion of delicious pasta and bronzino were awesome. Our only recommendation——turn off the annoying electronic music when you want people to relax and enjoy themselves. It’s annoying. Any other REAL music would do as a soft background.
