A great spot for Oaxacan cuisine, my wife and I have been by a couple times now for brunch and dinner. While we haven't delved through too much of the menu just yet, we can certainly vouch for the fresh & balanced ceviche de pescado, Madre's enchiladas, barbacoa de borrego, and brightly flavorful enchiladas oaxaquenas de camaron. Drinks have been consistently well-executed with favorites including an excellent Cadillac margarita, Al Chile!, La Mil Amores, and Chido Wey! Seating is plentiful both indoors and outdoors and service is overall decent with room for improvement.
Be the first to ReplySome of the most delicious food I've ever had.
The waitress was so kind and patient with questions, she helped me pick out the mole, chicken dressed in sauce with rice was soooo good. And the place inside just looked so nice. I am going to come back here hopefully soon.
Be the first to ReplyCute location and feel of Mexico decor.
We split the meal and came to be perfect size. The flavors and spices were excellent. Friendly staff and quick service.
Be the first to ReplyMadre is super fun! The portions are HUGE.
My girlfriends thought we could each feed our families from each of our plates. The food was really good, and big portions meant leftovers to take home to actually feed our families, haha. I really liked the space, ambiance and decor. I will definitely dine here again. I came for lunch, but I'm going to also check out their dinner.

The service is inefficient, the managers are uncoordinated, carol, Melissa and jimmy are all over the place. Their hostess's are unnecessarily rude and they seem to be under staffed as-well. The food is also neither here nor there, I have visited this establishment multiple times and it's always out late or cold by the time it's at our table. The only thing remotely outstanding about this establishment is the live music which is probably the only thing that makes this un professional and lack luster restaurant worth its while. I wouldn't eat here again and I wouldn't work at a place like this either I truly feel for the workers who lack proper management they need people with proper leader ship skills. This restaurant is not it.

I'm giving 2 stars because I feel bad giving less but based off recent experience it should be 1 star. Food is good, not the best and sometimes inconsistent as well as I've been several times. Drinks are good also nothing out of this world despite there being so much potential for both of these areas. The atmosphere is wonderful, aesthetically it's nice and the live music is usually pretty good. The service especially from management is beyond subpar, most recently was left baffled at lack of care and professionalism of this location. Probably won't be back any time soon. When you're spending this money and expect quality service from entry to departure, it is not met here.

Awesome place for happy hour! Get some of their freshly made tortilla chips and salsa and guacamole! Came with 4 other coworkers and split 3 Nuestra Tierra (from the land) with their homemade corn tortillas, which plenty of food and was amazing hands down table favorite was the barbacoa de res, followed by the carne asada! Definitely recommend these two dishes. The taste of Oaxaca was solid, but didn't hold a light to the barbacoa

Good food but dam was this visit for Mother's Day not very satisfying. First off one of my guests got the barbacoa de borrego and I did not get no consome. Then we order flan, churros and coffee after our food. The flan I guess they forgot about it because they sent it out like 20 mins later. Our coffee never came after about 30 mins of waiting for coffee in the cold tables out side I just told the waiter forget about the coffee and just give me the bill. I asked why is the coffee taking so long like how long does it take to make coffee. He tried to give me some bs excuse about that it is a big pot and it take like 15 mins. We waited 30 mins for dam coffee. Experiences like this makes me want to never come here again and not recommend this place to friends and family. I will definitely never bring my mother here for Mother's Day ever again. Pathetic.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, this is a great place for drinks with friends.
. not to eat. Every time I've ordered from here the food has always been bland with watery salsa. We were told the wait list is 30min.. however it ended up being 15min. Seated at a dirty table where green salsa ended up all over my wrist and the menu. Stars are for the waitress as she was professional. The amount of time we spent in there we saw the waitress 3x and we could not find her to request the check. Tables around us were asked for refills etc we were not and therefore we did not ask. Again, it's a good time to be with friends, listen to music and live band and laugh. I just like the environment but will not order food in the future.

1. service took forever 2. when the entire table was being served, one of the diners was told they ran out of his order and he needed to change it. so he had to wait and basically eat alone 3. they brought the wrong cocktail 4. the plates were so sloppy. we are paying $26 a plate here guys, take a moment to at least serve a clean plate 5. chilaquiles were MUSH. sent it back 6. ceviche is mostly tomato and onion 7. they don't even serve complimentary chips and salsa anymore. seriously? 8. they auto charged 20% gratuity though it doesn't say that anywhere. it says suggested amount of 20% for part of 6 or more. the people who ordered the mole said it was great. the mocha tres leches was awesome. overall though, it felt like the amount we paid did not match the food or the service at all. I was already on the fence about this place so I def wont be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for date night and it was a good experience.
The design and look of the restaurant was very nice. The most important part to point out about the atmosphere was the live music, I love it I think it's a great addition to anything, however if you're not a fan it can be a bit noisy. I did notice once we got seated it took awhile for the waitress to come over and take our order. I don't know if I was just hungry but it was something that stood out for me. The food overall from 1-5 was a 4 for me. Our favorite was the Carne Asada plate it was banging!

Your typical overpriced overhyped traditional [insert cuisine here] restaurant in LA. Stale chips for the guacamole, fish filets came out cold, whole fish was just okay -- not much flavor to it at all, sweet chili renello. $5 for extra salsa... Beans were good. Not sure how places like this continue to pop up but they do have an outstanding selection of mezcal and the cocktails were good. Beautiful inside. Service was good. Mole was decent as well. Prices are insane, of course. Had one bottle of wine, a few cocktails a couple appetizers and entrees total was almost $600 with tip. Tried it once to know we'll never come back. Would honestly rather just go to one of the many taco trucks on Crenshaw. Food is 10x Better and 1/10 of the price.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambience here is trendy, fun and vibrant.
They had live music, but it was so loud you couldn't talk to the person next to you. We started with a dirty water carafe that had mold in the bottom of the carafe. The server tried to tell us it was from lemons and mint. Nope. It was a fairly thick layer of fuzz on the bottom. The chips and guacamole were yummy and a good start. But the chicken breast in the Mole Negro was overcooked, dry and very tough/chewy. Overall, we were disappointed in this place.

This place was great! First thing that catches your eye is the decor and wall of tequilas they specialize in. My service was great and super helpful when it came to ordering. The food is fresh and the homemade tortillas is a must have. The drinks we had were just amazing. If you are looking for a great place to have drinks and dinner definitely come here.

After hearing rave reviews, we decided to spend our anniversary at Madre's only to find ourselves horribly disappointed. From the moment of arrival, the welcome--or lack thereof--by the rude and morose hostess set the tone. Her smile, much like the warmth in their elote, was utterly absent. The food arrived as if by some unknown lottery, devoid of timing or temperature. The guacamole and tortillas, while passable, could not salvage the parade of culinary missteps. The queso fundido was so stubbornly thick, it shattered our slightly stale tortilla chips, while the chicharrones could have doubled as rocks in their cold, greasy hardness. My mole dish was a plate of sauce, with one pitiful drumstick lost at sea with a lone scoop of overly salted rice for survival. The mariachi band was excellent though. They played with a gusto and talent that deserved a far better setting. Moreover, our request for a larger table to accommodate our dishes was denied, despite numerous empty tables the entire time we were there. Such inflexibility during a meal meant to celebrate our anniversary, which, by the by, went entirely unacknowledged, only made things worse. In conclusion, even, rhymes with Paco Sell, puts this establishment to shame when it comes to serving hot food. I arrived home with the unfortunate need to revisit with my meal, in circumstances best left unspoken. I'd encourage you to avoid this place, unless you, like me, want to end up re-serving your meal into a porcelain bowl a few hours later.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome spot.
As a disclaimer I only sit at the bar. Drinks are good. Actually great. Drinks are great. Food selection is yummy.
Be the first to ReplyEach dish had its own flavor which I appreciated.
The service was good. Didn't wait long for our food. Went on a Friday around 7 the mariachis started to play on a little stage. The didn't come up to your table playing so that was nice being it can get super loud. Nice views out the window of the sun.

Great Mole! I had no idea there were so many different types of mole. I had mole before and thought I didn't like mole. but Madres changed me. It was delicious
Be the first to ReplyOkay here we go.
I went to happy hour with very good friends who had a good experience here and wanted us to experience it as well, but to be honest the only decent food were the appetizers we shared. We ordered from the dinner menu and got the carne asada and got 1/3 lb of steak and 4 tacos. The service was good I just wish their servers were honest with us when we ordered our food because my friends questioned the portion size of the steak and he brushed it off. The ambiance here was nice. That is all.

I've been to this location and their other location in the Palms area. This location is much better and has entertainment. We came on a Sunday around 4:30pm and it was pretty busy. We had reservations but it didn't seem like their was much of a wait for people that didn't have reservations. You can make reservations from their website. We were seated pretty close to the stage they have. I ordered the Froze for a drink which is like a blended tequila/grapefruit drink. It's really good! I also ordered the chicken mole negro and they were good as well. For appetizers we ordered the chorizo queso and the guac. Both were also good. My only negative is that it does get loud. So you can't really have conversations with the people you're there with without screaming. Although the live music was nice, maybe don't come with the intention of being able to have conversations with your friend Parking was shopping center parking or paid street parking.

I went on a weekday for lunch - service was amazing, beautiful interiors, and the food was decent (a bit salty for me). We brought our baby and the whole staff was very cooperative and friendly. The drinks are really good! Highly recommend.
