Only shrimp wonton can win
This Michelin-starred restaurant recommends the shrimp wonton! The shrimp was plump and delicious. The Kyoto Jajamen noodles were not so great.
Be the first to ReplyGood Wonton Noodle soup
This restaurant is apparently popular for its wonton noodle soup (HK$45). Came here and found quite a few tables ordered the Pig Trotter so decided to order one too (HK$89). Both were good.
Be the first to ReplyMichelin recommended noodle bar for HK$ 45.00
Small noodle restaurant near Temple Market. Food was very cheap. One cup of noodles HK$ 45 Won ton noodles with tiger prawns were superb. You’ll probably share a table with other people and food arrives within five minutes of ordering. If you’re expecting an upmarket and relaxed dining experience, you’re definitely in the wrong place! This is a local establishment with classic Hong Kong food. Cheapest meal of the trip
Be the first to ReplyDelicious tiger prawn wonton in soup
The noodles in the Tiger Prawn Wonton Noodles in Soup ($45) are chewy and free from any alkaline taste. The wontons are large and filled with one tiger prawn. The wonton wrappers are smooth, and the soup base is flavorful and sweet. The Dumplings in soup ($50) have a well-balanced filling and are quite enjoyable. P There might be a queue and the seating area can be crowded. It's a place where you're expected to eat quickly and leave promptly after finishing your meal. IG: tracyloveliving

I know the restaurant been around over60 years , their signature Wonton Noodle is well know , people eager to try and long line up , very small hole in the wall place and every where so dirty and you have to share tablets with stranger or squeezed in , not a comfortable dinning experienced , it is not my cupper tea , now there is so many Great Wonton house been open in HK, we are not in the 60's , been here once good enough for life time . portion so tiny ! only for snake !
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming and forget the Michelin hype, its not reflective of expectation.
We were lucky and didn't queue for long. We were squeezed into a small booth that Bilbo Baggins would have found tight. We ordered the dim sum , some veg and a pork noodle dish. Pork arrived cold. Veg was tasteless and accompanying brother for noodles was also tasteless. Service, if you could call it that, was from a irritated waiter who didn't want to be there or didn't like non locals. He threw the menu at us and immediately pushed us to order, once we did, he threw the bill literally to us on the table. Food began to arrive, being passed over other diners to reach us. Again not a good experience. No napkins, no service, cash only, beware. I think the whole Michelin thing had killed this once successful family business into nothing more than a tourist trap. It's expensive also. Skip this place and go 100 meters further for a proper Hong Kong Experience.

Great won tons and tasty noodles. I visited twice, one for noodles and once for ho fun, both excellent. The won tons had a big prawn inside, very tasty. Small tables, tight spaces, and traditional Hong Kong seating means that you may have to share a table.
Be the first to ReplyTiger prawn wonton 👍🏽
Michelin Guide Noodle shop in Jordan The shop is quite small and a bit busy. So I have to sit with other people. There are beef noodles, dumplings, wonton, etc. We ordered the beef noodles (brisket) and noodle with tiger prawn wonton. Beef is good smell good and very soft, soup also good. Wonton is very fantastic, inside is full of tiger prawn. Egg noodle is also good. If you are planning to Hong Kong, you should add this restaurant to your plan.
Be the first to ReplyTasty but so tiny leave hungry portion
Based on good reviews, bangsar babe especially I went to try this place. The taste was good but the a la carte bowl of beef, stomach, and tendon was SHOCKINGLY small. Tiny. I ordered a large portion the bowl was about 4in in diameter. 54 ringgit. Two bits of beef, more tendon and stomach AND 6 pieces of radish on a tiny dish as filler! There was no smaller bowl in the shop, so what does a small portion go into? Everything beef was claimed to be wagyu to justify the high price. No ordinary beef on menu. Is there a point in wagyu brisket? Very dissatisfied and left still hungry and angry. Hong Kong restaurants in KL I find have sharp practices like this taking the customers for fools. Still it was busy, probably coasting from past reviews.
Be the first to ReplySame Good Taste and Style!!
After so many years, this is one of the happiest time to revisit this famed wanton noodles house after pandemic. Never changed. Just like the braised beef and tendons still a bit too salty for nowadays standard. But everything is still one of the best original wonton and braised beef noodle house in the world. The old renovation stay is a plus. Cheers! Stand-alone neighborhood store with no franchise. Hooray!!
Be the first to ReplyWontons are good, but dumplings even better
Thinking of wonton noodle, we decided to come to Jordan and visit this famous shop, which had opened for more than 60 years. If you look at their story how the family built up this business, their hard-working, dedication and focus, are very heart-warming and inspirational. Starting as a street vendor, this traditional noodle shop has not moved from this location in Parkes Street, nor they did open any branches. The brightly lit setting, booth seats on both sides with the small tables in the middle, offer a friendly and familiar ambience of the 1980-90s. Each of us started with the signature Wonton Noodle in Soup ($40). The wontons are made daily with only prawns, so on each bite was a satisfying crunchy prawn meat with great seasoning. The noodle is also meticulous, homemade from scratch by the shop, with a great texture, and the broth is a flavour bomb, full of umami and not overly salty. It was so good I finished the whole serving in a matter of minutes. The reputation is well-earned in my opinion. We ordered an additional Dumplings in Soup ($36) to share. The plump dumplings have prawn, pork and bamboo shoot as fillings. The combination of the flavours, with the crunchy texture of the bamboo shoot, is amazing and it is certainly one of the best dumplings I have tried in town, and frankly I would even rate this higher than the wontons. Still having some room, we also had Dry Noodles with Shrimp Roes ($50). With plenty of shrimp roes, its savoury notes added an extra dimension to the noodles, with the dry noodle offering a totally different experience than the soup version. It is nice, but I am still having more preference on the latter one. Service is decent for this kind of noodle shop, and they did not give any pressure to customers, unlike its famous neighbour on the street. The bill on the day was $200. As a local, we should support more our traditional, local and small shops, especially those that operate with heart and dedication like Mak Man Kee.
Be the first to ReplyNice won ton noodle
Went for a quick bite for lunch and opted for the won ton noodles. The noodles were nice and crunchy. The won ton was very nice too with quality filling. The portion is on the small size but it was ok for me as I was heading to the restaurant next door for pudding afterwards. The price is average. It was nice and would recommend.

A neat flavor of soup
The soup is well soaked in thin noodles, so the taste is really good. Adding red vinegar to the soup make it much yammy.
Choisam that must be served with is not burdensome and is well suited to noodle soup. There is no English menu and no communication because it is a local restaurant. But the lady try to explain.
Love Prawn Noodles? Then visit. Otherwise skip
Pro tip:
- Love Prawn Noodles? Then you should visit, otherwise skip this place.
I originally came across this restaurant on the Michelin Guide as a recommendation for places to eat. So of course my expectations were sky high.
Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the hype. I ordered their most popular item, Prawn Wanton noodle soup.
The dish arrived smaller than anticipated and the price was exorbitantly high compared to other items in the area.
The food itself was as average as it gets. A small bowl with 4 prawn wantons, soup and extra skinny egg noodles.
Best Won ton Mein
My wife and I like won ton mein (noodle soup with shrimp dumplings) and have tried a number of well-regarded shops specializing in it - this is our favorite. Delicious with quality ingredients and high value. Simple diner ambience, basic service and can be crowded at peak times. But also in the same location since the 1950s and run by the daughter of the founder, so you're getting a little slice of old Hong Kong.
Be the first to ReplyMy young nieces liked them too!
During our 6-day stay in HK, my nieces and I dined there 3x. Considering how picky kids are, they still found the dumpling noodle soup and the beef brisket soup very satisfying. They promised to go back there next time we're in town.
