Be the first to ReplyAn absolutely superb experience from start to finish.
Attentive but not intrusive service, food worthy of its Michelin star, a knowledgeable and informative sommelier, and an overall luxury experience. A perfect way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyWe honestly loved every minute of the dinner last night.
It was our second time and one of the waiter, I can't recall his name but he said it was half from Bosnia and half from Switzerland, he recalled exactly when we came the first time and were we were sitting. Once again was an amazing time we will definitely comeback.

So far the ambiance seems great, here with the Fine Dining Society, a group of friends visit the best restaurants London has to offer, each week. It's all about the deals and offers. Places we would ordinarily skip for the price. Thursday is a good deal day we find.Anyway, back to the review,

Amazing food in London! We loved the experience and our waitstaff was incredibly knowledge for dishes to cheese to wine. The ambiance was quiet and low key. We had a corner booth and it was perfect for an intimate dinner. To go to the bathroom you have to go back through hotel, but it was not too inconvenient. Highly recommend if you want a nice dinner in London. Reservations seem like they're needed.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice Michelin restaurant with amazing service and food.
The waiters were amazing and catered to my every need and were very attentive. I had the set lunch menu which was one of the best lunches I ever had. My favorite dishes were the slow cooked egg and the lamb rump. The egg dish was one of the best I've ever had and left me amazed by both the flavor and textures. The egg was so incredibly tender and bursted with flavor, and the crunchiness of the sorrel and the sauce perfectly complemented it. The lamb was just one of the most perfectly cooked cuts of meat I've ever consumed! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for fine dining foodies!

This dining experience was everything I'd have expected from a 2 Michelin star rated restaurant. The food and service were fantastic. The main course I had was the "Hardwick lamb" and it was the juiciest and most rich lamb dish I've ever had. The bread served with the meal though was a tad underwhelming for this caliber of restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThis is weird but the bathroom is amazing.
.quartz countertops and shades of blue..really nice. The restaurant is also quite fashionable and service excellent. The food beautiful to look at, which you would expect as a Michelin two star winner. I had scallops with a beef gel- I thought this was really weird combination..couldn't taste the scallops at all only beef. For the main I had the turbot which had a heavy creamy sauce and was over salted, plus one of the fillets was not cooked through...kinda shocked by that one. Dessert was great with cherry Marsala and almond cake. My husband had the short ribs as an appetizer and lamb- he loved both.

A little stuffy but you should've known that when you signed up. This is made up for by friendly and skilled wait staff. The food was very good. Especially enjoyed pork belly and rabbit dishes, as well as the cheese cart. Affordable high quality wine by the bottle. What's not to love?

Amazing food , fantastic wine & excellent service I could probably stop there but I won't because this was truly a delightful dining experience. Have long been a fan of Marcus Wareing and seeing him on the TV enhanced our decision to visit his restaurant. The restaurant itself is set in a fantastic location that is the Berkeley Hotel so you get warm & very friendly greeting on arrival you are then escorted through to the restaurant which at first glimpse is stunning and as you looked around all the tables were nicely situated. We were sat in this delightful little booth that form the outer part of the restaurant. You are then greeted by the head of Front of House and his manner really does set the tone for all members of staff who were all warm , friendly & very professional providing excellent service throughout the evening. Well I better move onto the food which was as fantastic as I thought it would be a truly outstanding 8 Course Tasting Menu that started with a stunning Mackerel dish and definitely the best I've ever tasted to be followed by the Orkney Scallop with a Roast Beef dressing. The next course was also amazing Sharpe's Express 1900 potatoes with girolles , Tunworth Cheese & Truffle just magical our next course was a fabulous Octopus served with a Beef Tea to be followed by the Short Rib with Vindaloo Spices. So now we reach the Main Course and yes it was the highlight Herdwick Lamb , hispi cabbage & mustard simply stunning. Now on to desserts which started with a light Smoked Milk & Mandarin to be followed by a absolutely exquisite Toffee , Peanut , Milk Chocolate & Nougat literally heaven on a plate . A word now for the Sommelier who was very charming and certainly produced some amazing wine that matched each course perfectly and with a fantastic brandy to finish . This ended a stunning & memorable evening to which I will definitely look forward to experiencing again
Be the first to ReplyI was underwhelmed by this experience.
I ordered the tasting menu but actually the best item that came was the palate cleanser in between courses, which was some sort of honey yoghurt concoction. I wish I knew what was in it. My entire table considered it the highlight of the meal, which is a bit sad for the rest of the menu.My burrata appetiser with kale, confit lemon and caramelised shallot was alright and my main of roasted cod with laverbread Welsh seaweed, oat, and Monk's beard vegetable was ok as well, but neither was particularly good. My husband had the partridge, sweetcorn and turmeric appetiser and the venison haunch, with parsnip, pickled grape and sorrel, which were better, although nothing memorable. My dessert of 70% chocolate with raspberry and buttermilk, I did not even like and I am a chocoholic. I think the emphasis at this restaurant is on artistic presentation rather than actual taste, but for me if it doesn't taste good, it doesn't matter how pretty it looks. The amuse bouches they served us were also not very good, I think one was a rather unpleasant popcorn soup and although the marshmallow dessert they gave us was beautiful, it was not really worth eating. The restaurant itself is quite glamorous and the atmosphere does make for a lovely evening. Even though I did not like my food at all, I did at least enjoy being there. I would not recommend this place though. I have been to other restaurants which may not have earned a Michelin star, but have certainly earned my heart with their culinary offerings, and this one simply did not.

This is a nice place to bring someone for a night out. You get great service, a good meal and a great wine selection. So why not give it 5 stars? Simply because I found the food good but it did not wow me. I guess expectations were high given my great experience with other similarly ranked Michelin restaurants and what London has to offer in terms of restaurants. As I try writing down what I enjoyed the most a few days after, I am blanking out which maybe highlights what my experience here was. It was ok. I knew I had a good meal but it wasnt that memorable. When I looked at my pictures, I did remember that the tandoori flavored ribs was actually interesting. It was a clever dish that highlighted the flavors if the spice and was pretty tender. There was a dish that had truffles but I felt it was more of a show because the truffle didn't really add anything for me to that specific flavor palate. The dish was fine even without it and it really didn't elevate it or needed it.

Looking for a nice welcome to London, we had arranged a 2-Michelin Star Vegetarian Tasting Menu from MarcusWe ended up being the first to arrive for the evening and there was a lingering luncheon table just being "invited" to take their continued lingering to the bar area - where there was a filled-to-capacity room full of High Tea imbibersInitially shown the meaty menu and left to peruse, it was when the waiter came back to ask about our selection that we reminded him about our special request - which had been confirmed not once but twice when securing & confirming reservations. He walked away, spoke with several of the waitstaff then seemed to realize this was not a surprise request & all was well again.....but would have been nice to have been expecting usWe enjoyed the following:Amuse of cornbread w/ line emulsion & black sesame cracker w/ humusBurrata, dandelion, hazelnut, truffleMushroom consumme, chickweed, cauliflower, cuminTropea onion, truffle, cheese, garlicDuck egg, garlic, beet, potato pureeCarrot agnolotti with pine nutsPotato terrine, mustard cream and mushroomRhubarb, vanilla and marscapone with pistachiosToffee, peanut, chocolat noughatWhile we were excited about the spring truffle menu, we were not completely blown away and the wine paring was a nice compliment but next time, we might go for the less expensive Sommelier's ChoiceWe also saw a cheese cart being offered to other tables and while we were too full from our tasting courses, it would have been nice to have been askedDress code was a bit all over the place - from ties / jackets to jeans & polos so on the bright side, people are welcomed to dress in the attire in which they feel the most comfortable. We had elected to be on the dressier side of dressy to make it a true celebration-event.No takeaway memento - most other Michelin restaurants send patrons away with a token of their visit from food (muffins, granola) to items such as cheese knives or copies of their menu. It's obviously not a requirement but we did notice the absence....TOTAL2 people3.75 hours9 courses2 champagnes, 2 "prestige selection" wine pairings£715 including tip
