This is the biggest disappointment of our dinning
This is the biggest disappointment of our dinning experience in London.Food is not even mediocre, I would say the Chinese run Japanese restaurant can do a better job. Sashimi didn't cut right, fotomaki roll fell apart and the presentation is not impressive . We ordered wagyu fried rice, the waitress made a mess while mixing up the ingredients for us----it was blah . Hello? Don't Four Seasons train their staffs? The stars are for the service and ambiance . People are nice and we got a free bday dessert for my daughter, even though it's overly sweet. Don't know how did they get their Michelin 2 stars, we tried many Michelin restaurants around the world, this one does hold a candle to any of the others. Should have gone to A Wong.

Be the first to ReplyAmazing and delicious.
One of the best meals I've ever had. Staff was friendly and efficient. Can't recommend this place highly enough. I would go again in a heartbeat. Even my 17 year old thought it was great.
Be the first to ReplyJust love Japanese food.
My boyfriend took me there, he is having lunch breaks there occasionally and always speaks enthusiastically about the place, so we went there.
Be the first to ReplyVery pleased with the food.
Service, and environment/decor. Tasty but too heavy. Beautifully done!

I'm surprised there are not more reviews, perhaps because it is in the hotel, and then down a hall, so you would never see it from the street. We recently had a lunch for about 10 people here. There is an option of having two starters and a main for 29 pounds per person. We all did that, and shared a great deal of food. Food and service was really excellent, and the restaurant is very nice.

Mei Ume is a restaurant with a relaxed yet elegant design that speaks high gastronomy from the moment you walk through the entrance. My friend and I wanted to try some of the best Asian food London has to offer, so Mei Ume seemed like the perfect place for us. The service was excellent, the staff kept the food and wine flowing at a perfectly steady rate, describing every dish and why the wine was chosen to pair it. The deep fried squid with salted egg was a combination of flavours and textures that excited the senses. The exquisite combinations kept coming. Their soft shell crab was subtly spiced with peppercorn salt and we both loved this dish. Fish was next for us and the steamed Chilean seabass with ginger and spring onion in soy sauce was something neither of us have tried before but both couldn't get enough of. It is worth a trip to Mei Ume just for this. Stir fried native lobster with ginger and spring onion came later and it was served on a bed crispy noodles beautifully. The final course began with a chocolate moelleux and green tea powder ice cream, one of the best desserts I've had this year. Then we finished with the iced mochi selection of matcha, coconut, mango and yuzu; absolutely refreshing and tasted amazing. Your time in London wouldn't be complete without a visit to Mei Ume!
