I happened upon Little Spain when walking to find the Vessel. I was so enchanted by this delightful culinary find and really cool space in all of its design. While I wasn't able to try more than a couple of things-- it is a place I could imagine myself coming to with friends and sharing many new things to taste alongside some wonderful drinks. It is a really neat find that made me feel like I was in a Spanish European adventure for just a bit.

Felt like we were I. Europe. Clean, organized and had a nice European dining vibe to it. All kinds of food from Spain like Paella, Patatas Bravas etc. Nice bar/restaurants to sit at with an emphasis on wines. Pricey but nice.

I lived in Las Palmas, GC; Santa Cruz, TF; and Arrecife, LZ in the Canary Islands during 1999-2000 and i loved the culture and the food. Walking into Mercado Little Spain and catching the first whiff of the aromas of the food cooking was like stepping back in time! The tortilla Española was perfectly cooked, the potatoes and onion were soft and sweet and gooey...perfectly seasoned!! The Paella Valenciana was perfectly cooked...the only thing was that it was clear the red wine they used was not the de-la-mesa boxed stuff my friends in the islands used to deglaze the pallea pan (not a bad thing!!!) I wasn't of drinking age back then so it was great to enjoy a nice sangria cocktail with my meal this time around. Wished I would have had more time and more room in my stomach to have several more meals here. Like my tote bag says: "de la panza sale la danza!" And I am dancin!

I am a Spaniard living in US for almost 8 years (1 year in NYC). I visited Little Spain and I literally almost cry because it was like entering all of a sudden my country. I am from Valencia and the paella is even better than in my city where the paella is coming from. I could not believe the taste and the smell. The best rice u will find in NYC. We also tried patatas bravas, bocata de calamares and churros con chocolate. Everything spectacular, no words for how good everything was. Even better than in the actual Spain (including Valencia paella). This Place is the perfect place for Spaniards and non Spaniards to evade the big city and just relax and enjoy good food and drinks as we do in Spain.Thank you chefs for creating this place.

Their croquetas are so good!!!! This is a good hall type of place with lots of small bars and restaurants. Finding seating was tough but could've been because we went during New Years weekend so everything was packed in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
It's an open market and you sit wherever and eat anything! We sat and ate and then took sandwiches to go. Yummmmmmy! It's worth checking out. There's multiple bars to grab drinks, and you can walk and drink in the area.

How can you not love anything Jose Andres touches? This establishment reminded me of Las Ramblas in Barcelona: the collection of stalls selling freshly made, piping hot food. A series of bats pouring the local drafts. Expertly crafted sangrias on tap--while the crowd can get a little touristy due to proximity to Hudson Yards, it still draws a crowd that favors social nights with friends over cocktails and tapas. This is a Hell's Kitchen must.
Be the first to ReplyThe futbol bocatas was really good.
Definitely the best of the sandwich options. Also tried the the ham and cheese sandwich at the main restaurant and it was amazing. I di wish there were more healthier options. Something involving grilled chicken on those days you don't want to gorge yourself. But all in all the Mercado was a great experience.
Be the first to ReplySuch a cute market with authentic Spanish food.
It was a joy to try food from my culture. I have to come back to try more.

Pros: authentic flavors, great variety, atmosphere, near touristic attractionsCons: pricey, noisy during weekendsWe've come here many times. There are two parts to this place: the open floor where you walk around and different stations offer different specialties, and the sit-down dinner "casa de comidas" with tables and a la carte menus. You'll find the dinner near the mini grocery store selling Spanish product by one of the exits.Expect tortilla de patatas, lentejas, macarrones, cocas, paella, patatas bravas, sangria and a lot more. Just be prepared because it's going to cost you a lot more than if you were in Spain!
Be the first to ReplyI think that the intention of an authentic experience
I think that the intention of an authentic experience succeeded. It reminds me of an indoor version of Boqueria we visited in Barcelona. However, I believe that some of of dishes in Spanish Dinner and La Barra are a bit underwhelming, namely the calamari (too salty and not crispy), and the foie gras cannelloni (amazing idea, everything inside the pasta is absolutely delicious, but is diminished by a béchamel that is far too salty). I have to give the meatballs at La Barra credit however, wonderful tenderness and flavor. My future visits here will be to shop. Dining is "just in case you are hungry" but not the reason I would come.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurants and bar.
Never been to Spain. Hope to go soon someday. Very friendly location. Several restaurants and bars to choose from with the flavors of Spain. Lots of Tapas, jamones and churros too. We tried the sangria. Wonderful. A must stop. Buen Provecho!Next to the Vessal.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a Spanish food court and has a number of eateries.
Unfortunately though the food is not so bad (not great), the pricing on these items is insane even given the fact it's in New York. I had a coffee for which I was charged about $6, and it was literally two espresso shots. Save your money and walk a few blocks away to much better food options.
Be the first to ReplyGood spot to grab a bite and a beer near the Vessel.
Lots of different choices depending on what you're in the mood for.
Be the first to ReplyI had a great experience.
Anna and Chris are amazing people. They make you feel welcome and are awesome at what they do. The food is fantastic. You'll have a great time here.
Be the first to ReplyThis review is for the restaurant and food.
I sat at the bar and the service was great. Appetizer the anchovies was great but didn't come with bread and had to order extra! Mussels were not the biggest but the sauce tasted amazing. Sangria rosada, tasted good but would have preferred in a bigger tall or wine glass. The glass was too small. Tarta queso (cheese cake) was home made type soft and very tasty, and not too sweet. Worth the try and calories.
Be the first to ReplyA group of us came here for lunch.
We got seated on top of a foosball table which was neat. We knew about this visa promo which allowed you to get two glasses of sangria as long as you pay with your Visa card and order a tapas which our waiter did not know about. He kept saying it was one and had to ask his manager but on the visa webpage where it was advertised it clearly said two. We also had to ask which part of the menu was considered valid tapas since what we thought were tapas were not all included in this deal. So that uncertainty back and fourth made us take longer to order. The food was okay. The bread (tapas) we ordered was very mediocre. I would recommend avoiding this. The chocolate event that was going on was interesting and we got two servings of the. I would recommend ordering that. The main entree of chicken with rice was plentiful and good. I would appreciate if deals/promos that are advertised are actually known by the waiters/waitresses. It makes the experience better and more efficient. I would not come back since I think there are better food options in Hudson yards at the same value.

Loved this spot!!!! Nice Mercado with cool products to Purchase. Service was great, the staff did a great job to talk to me about everything they offered and recommended a few things.Different bars and the restaurant was really good, the croquetas were amazing. The Russian potato salad was full of taste and I had to order two of them. But my FAVORITE thing was the churros, soft, nice consistency, perfectly fried and with a really good chocolate sauce to dip! I loved my experience! Well recommended!
Be the first to ReplyMercado Little Spain is pretty close to the Spanish version
Mercado Little Spain is pretty close to the Spanish version of Eataly. In my opinion, it's not as extravagant and perhaps flies more under the radar (only just learned about it) than it's Italian counterpart. Nevertheless, it provided an absolutely lovely experience! Like Eataly, there are many different areas of Little Spain. There were sit down eateries within the market as well as grab and go counters where you could order takeaway or stay and eat at one of the nearby "seat yourself" tables. We ordered from the Bocata kiosk where they sell sandwiches. I ate basically a Spanish version of a Philly Cheesesteak and it was so delicious. It was grilled steak, carmelized onions, melty cheese, and mustard. The roll they used was so light with a crispy outside. We also has churros!! They came with this hot rich dipping chocolate which made them even more delightful. I also loved that, like Eataly, they have a market area that sells authentic Spanish products. Little Spain is well worth checking out! I'd definitely go back and try some of the other kiosks or restaurants.

take the escalator down and you'll this hidden gem in hudson yards, its like a mercado down there and you'll see a lot of options for foods and drinks. I would recommend to take your time to read each menu of the resto before deciding cause each resto will offer you different type of foods. I tried La Barra but my experience weren't great that time but give it a shot as the food is good.

This restaurant was at the very bottom floor of the Hudson yards shopping center right next to the Vessel. I only went here during happy hour and can't speak of the food but the sangria was spot on. Ask the bartender for their happy hour food and drink specials which were weeknights from 4-6 when I went recently. The sangria was delicious and very balanced yet I could definitely feel how strong it was even after just one glass. I also tried their happy hour beer which was a lager and also a solid choice. The ambiance was very nice and unique and the bartender was extremely friendly.

Be the first to ReplyOkish place.
Went there on a Tuesday night, all restaurants were closed except one. Only thing I liked is the sangria.
Be the first to ReplyCame here on on a weekday evening.
Can't remember the specific bistro's name, but it was slammed. The hostess did check out IDs and Passes, which was appreciated. The menu was curated and the prices were fine, but the tapas portions (for the price) were small. I felt like in comparable places (Eataly & Le District) we'd gotten larger small plate portions or that the price was more reasonable for the serving. Everything we had was scrumptious -- from the red wine to the chorizo. A fun place to walk around. Not sure if it was the pandemic or something else, but it seemed like most of the individual counters in the place were also closed before 8 p.m. which felt off for NYC on a weekday.
