I was in Brooklyn a couple weeks ago for lunch.
I was near to Michael's. and stopped.I have used their Sauces for many years but I wanted to see this place.Boy! what a gem! The restaurant is so filled with history.The place is immaculate.Our Server Ivan was terrific, I had the Eggplant as our Appetizer, My friend had Rigatoni and I had Lasagna.The food was great.The deserts were also perfect. Michael's started in 1964 as a Pizza parlor, now it is a large restaurant, a factory for their sauces and a bakery.From Sheepshead,Brooklyn all over the country.If you haven't been to Michael's small or large parties go there, you will not be disappointed. Experience Michael's! Michael's of Brooklyn has been one of my favorites for decades since as a kid my grandparents lived off Marine Park, a few blocks away. As their local go-to Italian restaurant to eat or takeout, Michael's veal parm became the benchmark for me, never beaten no matter wherever I've had it around the world - including in Italy. (Note - My fav, their biggest veal parm is called "The Smash Job" and prepared with the bone. They offer a more modestly priced and sized veal parm without the bone.) Their veal parms clearly remain the best, all fresh components are expertly prepared there creating the perfect marriage! Typically, I pair it with a side of linguini in red sauce. Michael's appetizers, also amazing, are worth ordering - my favorite being the Baked Clams (pictured). But, come hungry and be prepared to take food home because there are some nibbles provided at the start and your entree will be big. Plus, they top off the meal with an excellent complementary biscotti, baked in-house. (Michael's old school bakery and store are across the street.) The atmosphere is classic, with friendly Michael there and his staff, plus often a live piano player performing in a tight platform above the stairs to the lower level. Whenever possible I take family and friends to Michael's, but keep in mind its location is not easily accessible by just subway. (I drive there from Manhattan. Suggest calling ahead to make a reservation.) The trip is well worth the experience! While you can buy Michael's of Brooklyn's assorted delicious jarred sauces in stores and online, nothing tops enjoying a meal straight from their kitchen!

Everything is good: the food and the service. They treat you like family and follow traditional Italian dishes with a mix of specials during specific holiday occasions. If you are in Marine Park do yourself a favor and visit. Make sure you call to reserve in advance, because it gets packed.

I've been dining in Michael's for probably about 20 Years Amazing Pl. amazing food usually amazing service except for today. I sent my daughter there with my sister's son to pay for his graduation dinner however, upon receiving the check the tip was included, she didn't know it was never noted or stated to her. It was not circled ,It was not underlined and the waiter proceeded to watch her add an additional 20% tip to the handheld and didn't say a word about gratuity already being applied and now we left a 40% tip . To me that basically stealing from your customers !!! I'm a server myself and would never not underline or circle the auto gratuity and I always state to the customer just be aware there is already a auto gratuity. My boss or management would never allow us to deceive our customers like that . That left a bad taste in my mouth don't know if I'd go back !!!!

Finally made it to Michael's after all these years! My cousins took me out for my birthday. I was fascinated when I walked in. Takes you back to the class and dignity of yesteryear. It's not old and decrepit , it's absolutely perfect. I was also impressed with the valet. They were quick which I like. Our waiter Enzo was such a nice guy and excelled at his position. He really made the meal enjoyable as well. The menu is probably one of, if not the best I have ever seen. A whole laundry list of specials that's available every single night. Starters we had mini rice balls which I enjoyed. Eggplant rollatini which was perfect. Not breaded and perfectly layered. And we shared two pastas which were both the stars the of the night. The bucatini cacio pepe. This was absolutely perfect. Wasn't too cheesy or too peppery which some establishment easily make that mistake. When I saw it I thought it might be too silky and cheesy but it was absolutely perfect. I loved it. And the spicy vodka burnt rigatoni. Again perfection on a dish. The amount of heat was perfect and on the way home I told my wife I don't know how they do it, I didn't taste any hot pepper or anything to make it hot in the vodka sauce. For mains I had the veal chop parm (smash job) which was phenomenal. Cooked beautifully and the fresh mozz really makes this dish come together. I got fettuccine on the side and their sauce with the side pasta way too chunky for me but it was delicious once I got passed all of it. My wife had the veal sorrentino and she loved it as well. Dessert the tiramisu was wonderful as well and my wife and cousins shared the coconut custard cake which was great too. My cousin John had the sorbet sampler which was very nicely presented. I used to say the best part about going to Brooklyn is leaving Brooklyn (which I said on the way there) but I can't say it no more. The best part about going to Brooklyn is going to Michael's!

I'd give it 4 stars for those items. The dirty martini at the bar was a 5...they had blue cheese stuffed olives!!! Unfortunately the food was a 2. I was shocked at how tasteless and unappetizing it was. I ordered burrata and my friend ordered the escargot. The tomatoes in my appetizer were drowning in oil, they almost tasted like they had been cooked. I'm usually expecting a nice fresh tasty slice of tomato, not this overly drenched glop that I received. My friends escargot was edible, but totally un flavorful. For the main course, I ordered the butterfly shrimp Parm and my companion got a seafood pasta dish with lobster shrimp, etc. Again, a repeat of the above. I wanted to really like the food. The ambience of the bar, the decor, the elevated piano player was all top-notch. When you walk in, you definitely felt like you were transported back in time to the 70s or 80s. However, the food could not match up with the ambience. I was very disappointed.

Once again Michael’s was amazing! Not only is the food top notch but, they treat us like family. We get to order off menu regularly and they always accommodate our requests. Staff is friendly and they remember how we like our food and beverages served. I would highly recommend this restaurant, whether you are looking for a an amazing date night spot or a family gathering; Michael’s is the spot!

Me and My Husband decided to try out Michael’s for the ball drop on New Year’s Eve 2024. We had the best night of our lives here. The food was incredible, The service was amazing and the place was packed and fun. We also didn’t want to judge this place by this one night considering it’s New Year’s Eve, and it was packed and it could be a little hectic and crazy because of the holiday, but they did not disappoint at all. We are still talking about how amazing this whole experience was. The whole feel of the restaurant was just perfect. The food was absolutely fantastic, and everything came out in perfect timing. Our waiter John was outstanding and made us feel very welcomed. There was live music which made the night even more perfect, and the decor was phenomenal. I also love that we could get very dressed up and how classy this place is. We will be returning on January 20th for my birthday celebration. 🎉 and I can’t wait.

****Michael's Of Brooklyn Restaurant**** Hello, I am MR. BIG RED, and I want to share what a Great Night on The Town, I had last evening, with my friend, Scott Ruscillo. We dined/partied at Michael's of Brooklyn Restaurant, and immediately were made to feel at home, as we were treated like Kings!!! The ambiance is very warm, classy, spacious, yet quite comfortable. The food is absolutely exquisite, scrumptious, delicious, dish after dish, course after course, with beautiful presentations. We started off with a Campari & Soda with Lemon, and a Bourbon Concoction from the Cocktail Menu. More Campari, and a Tangueray Negroni followed. Then Scotty and I sampled: The Chilled Crabmeat Cocktail & delightful Fried Calamari Appetizers. For the entrées, my Boy had a perfectly cooked Medium Rare Filet Mignon, with Asparagus. I chose The House Special, a melt-in-your-mouth Veal Chop Parmigiana, with a side of Spaghetti Bolognese. Two and a half hours into our meal, we made room for dessert. Scott had the largest Lobster Tail, stuffed with Whipped Creme and drizzled with Chocolate Ganache Sauce, that I've ever seen. He paired that with a Frangelico Coffee. I had an Assorted Sherbet dish with 5 Amazing flavors of Sherbet, and paired that with a Double Espresso and Romana Sambvca...... I purposely parked two blocks away, in Marine Park, Brooklyn, as I knew I would need a stroll after this tremendous dinner, and I have no problem walking City Streets around Midnight, even though I'm carrying a Louis Vuitton "Murse" clutch. My friends know what I bring to the party.....LoLoLoLoLoL. My dear friends, Matthew Mari, Esq. (Famous Defense Attorney), and Billionaire Businessman, Political Talk Show Host, John Catsimatidis and a whole host of politicians also dine here. As a former Finance Chairman of The New York Conservative Party, I can see why. Additionally, I understand that this is a favorite restaurant of Andrew Dice Clay's and of Joe Piscopo's, amongst a whole host of other celebrities. The Management; Chef, Kitchen Staff and Waitstaff are most Attentive, Amazing and Uber Professional. Michael, John and their Staff made our visit to Michael's simply I N C R E D I B L E ! ! ! I highly recommend this establishment. YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS. Ask for Michael, and tell him MR. BIG RED from Table #1 at Park Side sent you....Bon Appétit, my friends!!!
