Minerva’s Restaurant Vancouver Reviews
Wow, was that a disappointment! First off, when I arrived
Wow, was that a disappointment! First off, when I arrived to pick up my (takeout) meal, they had given it to someone else. We ordered 2 lamb dinners at $35 a plate. The lamb was stringy and not at all tender. The pita was yeasty, and with no tzatziki included, not particularly enticing. At least rice and potatoes are always good. I went back to the restaurant afterwards to talk to the management. They took my card, said they would talk to the chef and owner - and call me back. It's been a few days now... Once upon a time, Minerva's was pretty good, but the food and service train has long left the station. Avoid.
Really great restaurant with friendly staff and delicious
Really great restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food. Some street parkings and bus stops only. A big restaurant but extremely busy so it's best to make reservations. There's a few options for alcoholic beverages but mocktails can be done upon request. Cocktails for good and not watered down. Food looks like regular portion so we order 4 thinking one for each. We didn't even finish it and have to take some home. The portion here is great and prices are reasonable for the quality. Ingredients are fresh and flavours are there. The pita, rice, and potatoes so done perfectly. Moussaka and the half-chicken was soooooo good! Roasted lamb shoulder was soft and tastes decent too but I've have better ones that melts in the mouth. They are all amazing dishes but some are better than others. Definitely a restaurant worth check out!
Delicious and Friendly
Amazing food and prompt, friendly service! Have been coming here since the 80’s and it is truly still such a great place! Highly recommend
What a bustling spot, even on a Tuesday evening! Minerva's
What a bustling spot, even on a Tuesday evening! Minerva's is a popular Greek restaurant on the edge of the Kerrisdale strip, serving sizable portions of Greek classics, pasta, and pizza. I want to start off by saying that the service was amazing. Monica was incredibly sweet, attentive, and kept our pita bread supply coming fresh and hot. She made our experience feel so personable and was on the ball about everything without making us feel rushed. The food is where I found things fell a little flat. The calamari was very good, as was the pita bread, but I found the hummus to be way too salty. My moussaka was also quite salty, and it looked like it had been cut hours before it was served to me. The potato part on the top was also a springier/gummier texture than it should have had. My friends had the baked spaghetti and baked lasagna, both of which were decent, though nothing to write home about. I will say that the portion sizes in general were quite big, and I am glad to have some leftovers for my lunch today. But at the $47 price tag for subpar moussaka and a couple appetizers, I don't know if I'll be back.
I have been going here for years.
Enjoyed it so much I introduced amazing coworkers and we began staff building meetings here early this year. Well tonight we had a horrible experience and will not be returning. Planned a small get together for Christmas and reserved for 530pm. Due to traffic and some uncontrollable issues our last lovely young woman arrived later then expected. We are very conscious of time and next group arriving 730(told to us when booking). At 5:55 pm the "owner" felt it necessary to come to the table, hold the shoulder of 1 woman without her consent or knowledge of seeing him approach this anticipate it) and "remind us" that we had to be done by said above time and remember kitchen geta busy". Excuse you!? Then to have the audacity to "scold" the late arrival and make her feel badly when she had previously been so happy to be out and see coworker friends (new mom). Not acceptable Mr Owner. Not customer service nor respectful conduct. Be thankful we did appreciate the food and woman staff and lovely bus man..and did til them. Ya almost cost them a large table tip. They have to work under you..we feel for them.
We flew in to Vancouver for a ski trip up to Whistler.
On our way to the Airbnb we stopped in here for dinner. It was so good! And our server Monica was the best! She really made our experience that much better! We got the garlic prawns and hummus for appetizers. Both were so good. The pita bread is out of this world! I got salmon for my entree with roasted potatoes, super good. My mom got mushroom ravioli and that sauce is so amazing. My two friends got the calamari and the lamb, both were delicious!
Delicious food.
Great service. A bit pricey for what it is. The ambiance reminds me of a cozy home style restaurant. A bit outdated but clean and comfortable decor.
The steak and lobster at this restaurant is prepared to
The steak and lobster at this restaurant is prepared to perfection. We also enjoyed the spaghetti and pizza combo very much. The service is professional with personal caring, it makes me feel relax and comfortable. The ambiance is a bite noisy as it is fully packed, however, it still offers enough space for quiet discussion. Lovely venue with tempting Italian and greek cuisines.
Came here on a Sunday night for dinner.
The place was very hustling and bustling. Food was overall very good. Service was great. The chicken souvlaki was a good portion, tasty tzatziki and pita. Rice was not too oily. My daughters cheese pizza was a bit on the salty side but she enjoyed it. Would come back here again. No sighting of Ryan Reynolds's.

Late lunch early dinner perfection
Last minute idea and it was a great one! We We’re looking for a place to eat about 330pm and stopped in to Minerva after receiving a recommendation. So glad they could accommodate us in the lounge since the dining room wasn’t open yet. We had pizza and lamb and calamari and of course wine.
Always enjoyable
We have visited here quite often over the years when visiting Vancouver. The calamari never disappoints and the pizza is great. When I want Greek have really enjoyed the moussaka as well. Service was friendly and will definitely go back again.
Hearty Meal
Loved the dishes ordered roasted lamb and a pizza. Homemade carrot cake for dessert. Definitely worth a return visit
