I desperately needed Cupcakes last minute for a work lunch.
The bakery wasn't even open yet when I ordered through GrubHub. As soon as they opened, I called to make sure they had received the order. They confirmed the order and said they were on schedule, I received a delivery at the schedule delivery time! I got the variety dozen and added a few extra. These cupcakes were absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the variety of flavors. The cake part was so moist and the frosting was light and fluffy and not too sweet. I will definitely order again.

Ambience is very upbeat and the cupcakes were super delicious, as well as the mocha. I definitely would love to stop by here again. Service is excellent and the lady working here is very cheerful and sweet. Only comment is bathroom needs some help and cleaning.
Be the first to ReplyThis might be the best cupcakes I have ever had.
They were soft, warm, filled and creativity prepared. The peach cobbler was my absolute favorite, filled with fall spice colors and a very delightful filing. Staff was very nice and helping my fickle self decide on what cupcakes to order and I really appreciated it. They also have a wide variety to pick from so I'm sure you cannot go wrong. The decor of the shop is also very pretty. Instead of normal bar chairs they have these pretty swings. There is also wifi and seating space so you can get some work done and order a nice cup of coffee. These are definitely the best cupcakes I have had in NYC without a doubt however.
Be the first to ReplySooooo good.
Fresh, moist and delicious. The icing is perfect as is the cake. I'm more into the plain flavors like the Molly. But the filled / special flavor cupcakes are really good as well! May be my new favorite over Georgetown.
Be the first to ReplyStopped by randomly and it is so cute in there.
They have swing seating and the tables look like desks. Gave me classroom vibes and the staff was friendly while I tried to figure out what I wanted.I'm not a big fan of cupcakes with filling inside which is why I gave it a 4/5 stars but if you like that, Molly's is the place for you. I ended up choosing the cake batter cupcake one and the filling inside tasted like cake batter. I love cake batter so that was an exciting flavor to taste.I'll definitely go back to try a couple more because the cupcakes are cute and not ridiculously sweet.

I had half an hour to kill in WV so decided to stop by this cute cupcake shop. I was intrigued by the sign that said winners Cupcake Wars - and after I tried it, I could definitely see why. The staff was so sweet and recommended a rich, but not too dense, chocolate cupcake with light chocolate mousse like filling inside. The inside cake was moist while the outside had a slight crunch. The cupcake was decadent and not too sweet - I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back to try other flavors!

I had that cupcake with the blue frosting filled with buttercream. That was one of the best cupcakes I've ever tasted. I wish I took a photo of it. The atmosphere was really nice too. Beautiful interior design and love the old school background music.

Easy to order great pricing n did a great job with my friends small baby shower cake!
Be the first to ReplyThis used to be my favorite cupcake spot.
I love their creme brûlée cupcake so much I ordered one in cake form. However , the cake was too heavy with buttercream, barely any custard in the center and the caramelized sugar top was SOFT. There wasn't as many berries on top either. Kinda disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyTheir cupcakes are truely unique.
They taste delicious & quality. Boston cream cupcake is my favorite. Their chocolate icing is delicious too.

I love these cupcakes!! I love dense cupcakes and these cupcakes were perfectly dense and thick. I tried their banana cupcake original flavor and their vegan vanilla cupcake and the vegan was surprisingly really good-- it had such a good after taste which vegan products usually don't have. I'm usually not a fan of thick frosting but their frosting was good.

I wouldn't even consider myself a cupcake person, but WOW! Anytime I pass by Molly's Cupcakes I'm tempted to stop in. Their cake batter is one one of my all-time favorite treats, but honestly any and all of their center-filled cupcakes are excellent. I've tried the creme brûlée, key lime pie, peanut butter Nutella, and the Ron Bennington (if you're a chocolate + PB person definitely try this one). Molly's also has a cute interior with the option to dine-in + play board games! Such a gem in the WV.

while there are many cupcakes in NYC to be enjoyed, one might find the ones at Molly's Cupcakes to be a tasty balance sweet indulgence and restraint from going over-the-top. the cafe space is clean, brightly lit, and a good amount of seating from the counter bar to several tables and window seats. the vibe is friendly and welcoming from the decor and warm-toned woods. it's very much a neighborhood spot for sweet calories + different coffee drinks.stopped here a week or so ago, grabbed a "classic" cupcake from the menu (which include a large number of standard cupcake flavors as well as more unique ones): Chocolate classic cupcake with vanilla frosting with sprinkles (Molly-sized aka "regular"). this cupcake is excellent. the cake has a tasty equilibrium between denseness and moist airiness. very much that nostalgia from those perfect bites into a school bake cupcakes without any dryness. the chocolate tastes like "chocolate without overlying on sugar or other sweeteners. the "vanilla frosting" is a nice contrast flavor-wise while giving the sweetness punch without becoming overly saccharine. it's about the size of a Hostess one--not tiny or grossly huge. it's perfectly adequate for one person without becoming a crazy calorie bomb. Chocolate classic cupcake, $2.85 + tip. the staff is very friendly and gives great service. drops mic cuz life is a piece of cakei outzzz

Nestled in a quaint, yellow painted cafe in west village, this is THE cupcake spot in NYC. I've tried cupcakes from Baked by Melissa, Magnolia's, Buttercup, etc., and none of those spots hit the mark for me quite like Molly's. Molly's most noteworthy flavors include the Crème Brûlée and Samoa. The center fillings are the perfect amount of cream to balance out the cupcake. I've also tried their Peanut Butter Nutella, Ron Bennington, and Cookie Monster--which are solid classics.
Be the first to ReplyMolly's has ONE PERFECT gluten free cupcake.
Chocolate, with a molten center, and delicious vanilla bean icing. If you're hardcore celiac, I would refrain because they can't ensure there isn't cross contamination--but if you have gluten sensitivity like this gal, then you're in luck. My one hope is that Molly's adds a non-chocolate gluten free cupcake one day--something strawberry or vanilla, maybe something with fruit. The gluten free peeps would come running. I know I would. As for pictures--I swallowed my cupcake so fast there was nothing to photograph.

Delicious!!!! These cupcakes were so varied and absolutely delicious they didn't have too much sugar you could actually taste the flour and eggs which is some thing that I remember from my childhood when my mother would make a cake you could taste all these wonderful different flavors, like Mollys my mother didn't drown the taste of cakes with too much sugar
Be the first to ReplyIn my opinion, the best cupcakes in the city hands down.
They will make you tingle in places you thought you never would mmm yea

Hands down the best cupcakes in NYC!! I love Molly's cupcakes. The store itself is so cute and reminds me of my elementary days, given the school desks and chairs and the swingset. Their cupcakes are to die for. My fave is the creme brulee and birthday cake. The cupcake itself is perfectly moist and there's usually filling inside. They even have a sprinkle station to add more sprinkles. They also have a DIY cupcake where you tell the staff what flavors and filling you'd like, but I usually opt for the ones in their display case.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious cupcakes and they're always fresh.
I also like that they can be delivered via door dash etc
Be the first to ReplyReaffirmed that Molly's is indeed my favorite cupcake store.
The crème brûlée and birthday cake flavors are the best, with pillowy soft cake and a surprise burst in the middle. The chocolate decadence and peanut butter cupcakes were drier than I expected, not sure if it's always that way. Great to bring to gatherings and for sharing!

amazing cupcakes!!!! definitely some of the best i've ever had. they were all moist and light and there were a lot of unique options to choose from. I will definitely come back here for more and to try their mini cupcakes:)
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the peach cobbler cupcake as a recommendation
I ordered the peach cobbler cupcake as a recommendation from the staff. I came on a Saturday afternoon and the store is very cute and visually pleasing with how the cupcakes are lined up. There was a very good amount of seating too besides the coffee top which makes sense with covid. Whipped cream with vanilla cake and cinnamon streusel and peach filling. The cupcake was very good don't get me wrong. I just wish it was sweeter. I was imagining a southern bell peach cobbler that packs a punch. It was very fresh but was missing the sweetness I was looking for. I would still go back and try another but that was my experience. But it's a beautiful cupcake.

Everything has been amazing multiple visits! Molly's has wonderful flavor selections, and it's also fun to pick out your own cake/frosting combinations. It's also handy they have different sizes. When I worked in the area, this was my go-to for special occasions like birthday parties, and people always took seconds! The cupcakes are consistently fresh. They are better than that other bakery in the West Village popularized by a certain TV show. LOL
Be the first to ReplyI've been quite a few times, but never left a review.
I'm not the biggest fan of cupcakes, but I do prefer Georgetown cupcakes over most, including Molly's. This recent time, I got the peanut butter Nutella and sea salt caramel chocolate (about $3.75 per cupcake). The peanut butter nutella tasted like peanut butter cookies (in a good way), but the nutella filling in the middle was very hardened and we had to cut it up to eat it with the cupcake. I did appreciate the icing on top, but the cupcake itself was almost crispy. The sea salt caramel chocolate was nicer with a more moist cupcake. Overall though, I found both cupcakes a bit too sweet and something felt lacking.

From remembering the cupcake I had here many moons ago to be the best one in NYC, the one today was average, at best. Crumbly, not moist (sorry) or tender enough. The frosting wasn't smooth as in I could tell sugar standing out as I tried a bite. Maybe it's COVID times and that's the reason why. The child enjoyed the cupcake, either way.
