A Memorable Dining Experience.
Mooo, a whimsically named restaurant, is a Beacon Hill Boston steakhouse located within the luxurious XV Beacon Hill hotel. The Mooo serves up stellar decor as well as culinary creativity with the likes of: Roasted Bone Marrow, Prime Ribeye, Prime NY Sirloin, Faroe Island Salmon, a $190 Japanese Wagyu Sirloin and other meatier items. I relished a trio of Maine Lobster Bisque, Prime Sirloin Carpaccio and Creme Brulee for my sweet tooth............what a delicious combination. The Mooo, with it's warm & inviting decor, provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience.

Srsly We sat at the bar but the dining room looked warm and inviting The drinks are fantastic and our bar tender/ server was simply delightful. The food is truly amazing. From the uni to the foie gras to the grade 4 kobe I think I want the entire menu for my last meal on earth I will def be here every time I'm in town.
Sadly…very disappointed!
As much as we wanted to love this place, we just didn’t. We went on July 7, 2024 for our anniversary. It started excellent. We got the oysters and wagyu dumplings. Both were excellent as were our drinks. But then it started going downhill. The caesar salad was okay. Then the steaks, which I expected to be phenomenal. It was far from it. The waiter stated they’ve been told the beef wellington is better than Gordon Ramsay’s. I’ve had both and Mooo’s wellington is no where in the same universe as Ramsay’s. My wife’s filet was one of the toughest filets ever. We then got the cookies and milk which are highly recommended. Ours were burnt on the outside and tasted like basic grocery store cookies. The food overall was about a 5/10 but considering the bill was $400, it goes even lower. Overall experience 3.5/10. It was on par with a restaurant that would have been $80-100, not 4x that. I’ve been to many high end steakhouses, this was in the bottom 3 for sure…
As a Hindu of the delicious order, I am extremely picky
As a Hindu of the delicious order, I am extremely picky about the steaks that I decide to consecrate via consumption. Moo delivers. Yes you will pay $100 or more for steak and sides. Yes you will feel conflicted. Yes you will wallow over the bill and cry tears of joy simultaneously. Life is messy, life is complicated. Take a deep breath and at least savor the dinner. You have earned it (at least once/year).

Love a steak house where I can have a martini and mashed potatoes at the bar. Space is classic and clean Service is smooth To eat any of the steaks are cooked nicely and taste great. To drink any of the classic cocktails are as expected and made correctly to your preferences.
Good recommendation
A friend of ours suggested Mooo - it was our first visit to Boston - so went for dinner. Excellent oysters and shrimp to start with and then we both had a small (8oz) Omaha filet mignon cooked blue with side sauces. My wife is a bit of an expert on bernaise sauce and didn’t think hers was that good. My Mooo…steak sauce was lovely. A few sides, good wine etc. With tip, just under $500. I thought that was more than enough, but we had a very enjoyable evening and the service was perfect.

. he even gave us two small kiss desserts for our engagement celebration. I'm vegetarian so I made a "main" out of sides. They were decent... carrots were a little over cooked and didn't have much flavor. Fiancé had the beef Wellington and thought it was good. Overall it was a good meal but of course pricey.

This place was great don't get me wrong.
We had great great steak and great great appetizers. Pretty much all the food was fantastic. However, cocktail my sister and I got was very mid. The tongue in cheek I believe it was called. I made a better cocktail at home the night before. Also, service itself was good but the server was definitely a little off. Not quite sure what the vibe was with them but definitely sporadic and all over the place. But still delivered! But yeah, would definitely go back. I was considering a 4 stars but it really is delicious and classic clean steakhouse vibe also which is always nice.
Better Places to go !!
Grossly overpriced for quality and quantity of food. For a prime steak I would not expect a big piece of fat in the center that not even the steak knife could cut through. Appetizers and sides were extremely disappointing and very expensive. Wines were marked up at least 200%. Positive: Service was exceptional ! Kudos to Gabriel and team.

I came here with my friend and her parents for a Mother's Day breakfast. The restaurant was very classy and clean. The servers were polite and attentive. The food was presented beautifully and tasted phenomenal. I was very impressed with this restaurant. It definitely met my expectations and I highly recommend it.

Having enjoyed, both a wonderful meal as usual - usual being 5 to 6 times a year and service! A place where you can leave the harsh reality of the world behind momentarily and enjoy the ambiance. I noted a recent yelp review - on April 25th, that to me was a severe rebuke, veiled in social commentary. Mentioning race and trying to paint institutional hypocrisy, was indeed way beyond bounds! Upon reflection I probably, should not be giving credence to this poor behavior, but it appears even my "Camelot" is not off bounds. I hope the hard working employees of this establishment, will know some people care! Kudos!
Unless you're a regular, don't bother.
Two polite, white, 50-something males with an Amex Platinum card were treated dismissively--from the hostesses to the chilly tall bartender. Safe to assume that People of Color would have no chance of feeing welcome in this ultra-white self-absorbed ode to the past. Perfect example of why Boston gets a bad rap.

I was eager to relax and chill after work and sat at the bar. It was actually tough to get a drink... surprising for this kind of restaurant. The first guy who gave me a drink menu proceeded to ignore me. I later got the eye of someone else who helped but then turned out to be maybe over-burdened with bar obligations. I was able to order dinner from her and it gained me an attention for a brief while. But overall, do consider going somewhere else with more personal attention, since those places are everywhere in Boston. The food in this restaurant is surely good - but not *that* good. They're nice but seem to be navigating a situation. End of the day: it's how people walk away feeling. Not returning.
This restaurant is worth the hype.
The Beacon Hill location is just one of three locations and I loved my experience there! My partner and I were constantly just in awe of the food and spent almost the entire time talking about how great everything was. I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye Steak which was juicy and tender but not too fatty, which is usually my concern with ordering ribeyes. We got a fish crudo which was honestly the star of the show. It was a beautiful, unique, and adventurous flavor combination and you could really tell how fresh the fish was. Even the free bread that they gave us blew us away. It was buttery, warm, soft, and I would've definitely paid money for it. We got a Sides Tasting Flight and our favorite was the mashed potatoes and the mushrooms but overall it was amazing! The ambiance is fancy and it's perfect for an occasion. Even better, if you tell them what your occasion is in advance, they'll put it on the menu! We went to celebrate an anniversary and they made the experience very special. The price of the food is expensive and you should be prepared to break the bank but the food was worth the price. You are paying for what you get here! Overall, I would go again as many times as I could. I'm sure the other locations are also as solid as this one!

Went here last night for a company dinner and it was amazing. We were in the wine cellar room which was so cool. The branzino was my favorite dish and the selection of wine was phenomenal. The staff were attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Definitely a great place to have a private event
One of our favorite steakhouses in the city.
The cuts of meat are the best and service is top-tier. Everything you would expect from a high quality restaurant. Great seating options perfect for date night or a special celebrations. If you love steak as much as I do - go go go!!!
Mooo continues to be my favorite steakhouse in Boston.
Not only is the interior beautiful, but the food here is SO good. It's worth the high price tag imo. In terms of what we ordered: Crispy Calamari: 4.5/5 - crispy, fresh & filled with tart peppers as well. This was so yummy, only thing that could've made it better was a pinch more salt. Truffle Fries: 10/5 - crispy, truffley with just the right amount of cheese on top, these are a must order every time! I find myself craving these. Filet Mignon: 5/5 - you get exactly what you pay for. No frills, just delicious, well-seared and juicy filet. The butter on the side enhances the flavor profile if you're into that. But just the salt + pepper is enough to complement the mignon. Milk & Cookies: 3/5 - Not bad at all, but I've had much better cookies from other places. These cookies are more crispy than soft. Levain is way better. The staff is always professional & attentive, no qualms there. Overall, you definitely can't go wrong with celebrating your special occasions here or just treating yourself out to a nice dinner ~
I wanted to love everything.
We received a $100 g.c. which could be used at any of the various restaurants in the group. We chose Mooo. Once we checked the menu online and saw how pricey it is, opted to go to lunch, in Boston, at the Beacon Hill location, the only one of the three Mooo restaurants open for lunch. The restaurant is lovely (bathrooms included!) , and the friendly, attentive and efficient staff made it enjoyable. To stay within our g.c. amount (it was lunch after all), we ordered the Mooo burger, the chicken club sandwich and the basic salad. The salad was good and tossed with a simple, light dressing, (always our preference), but, it was overly salted. We were given rolls with nicely softened butter on the side. Wonderful!, except that they were sprinkled with a few/several salt crystals - unnecessary IMHO. Our sandwiches arrived - huge and pleasing to the eyes! My husband and I split each, to share. Burger was cooked perfectly, moist and just right—but, there wasn’t much overall flavor to speak of. Surprising also that I don’t believe it was char-grilled—that favorite, desired flavor wasn’t detected anyway—which seemed surprising since we were at a steakhouse. The club sandwich was just ok, not remarkable. Each sandwich came with a generous side of perfectly cooked fries, but they too were . . . overly salted. I wanted to love everything. And the prices are—let’s face it—pretty ridiculously expensive. Saw on the menu that 20% gratuity automatically gets taken. On top of that we gave our remaining g.c. balance to the kind server. Glad for him.
Spectacular dining experience.
The decor is calm and inviting. The food is so delicious and of great quality. We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and fun. The steaks are exactly what you would hope for. The drinks are creative and delicious. A great dining choice over No. 9 Park and Contessa any day.
Came here for a birthday dinner.
Was seated in a booth in the front of the restaurant. No white table cloths or anything fancy. They put a space heater next to our table because it was so cold inside... The filet and beef Wellington were so so good. They also have GF rolls which is a plus. Both of us shared a salad, 2 sides, beef Wellington and filet. With only one cocktail each the bill was nearly $300. This just seems totally outrageous and was not worth it. You can get a delicious steak at a different Boston steakhouse that has a way better atmosphere. Moo just overall was NOT worth it.
We had a wonderful celebration at Mooo.
Even on a frigid night we were happy to dine in a cozy elegant setting to warm us up. The bread (soft Parker with butter rolls) and the salads were divine. The lobster bisque was full of lobster. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and all the sides delicious. The Valarhona chocolate cake with ice cream was so moist and huge!! Thank you to Carlos our wonderful server. He was so attentive! In fact all the staff is quite accommodating. We will return!!
Excellence is a ticket that has to be punched every time.
Arrived early for our dinner reservation, went into the bar. Staff is appropriately attentive, never intrusive but available. Response to requests or ideas are engaged not dismissed. Drink suggestions by Staff were great. Seated promptly at reservation time. Total of four in the party. I ordered the Beef Wellington for my entree. The pastry shell was firm, yet parted under the knife; the duxelles and foie-gras were delicate in their texture and taste without being overwhelming adding to the beefy tenderloin medium rare, tender and delicious flavor. The plated wine reduction added a layer of flavor but never took away from the main ingredients: the pastry, duxelles, foie-gras and the tenderloin. I’ve looked forward to having this experience for several years, I finally punched that ticket with Mooo. Whatever you have on your list, get to it. I would recommend anyone in Boston, or visiting the area, to Mooo Beacon Hill, their Bar, their Staff and lastly, their rendition of Beef Wellington. Regards,

Great restaurant, Waygu beef is worth every penny. Truffle fries are delicious, great salads, amazing wine list. Highly recommend. Nice for lunch or dinner!
Poor and selective service
The staff - from reception to Maitre'd to Servers - are all snooty and unfriendly. We came late in the afternoon to have coffee and dessert. We were immediately told that we have about 45 minutes to stay which was fine. We had to get our own menue and stood to order our coffees at the bar. When we sat down, we got the minimum service-- no water, no napkins. And the desserts were not cheap. We felt like it was the biggest favor to us to eat there. Worst restaurant service. I think they're service is selective and prejudiced. My husband always brought his work colleagues there for dinners, I recommend he brings his business elsewhere.

Run don’t walk to Moo. Best menu/food in Boston. Ambience is a 10 Bar service, Brian, is a 10, Menu… 10! Carpaccio , extremely large portion and high quality Lobster..perfectly cooked and high fat butter Desert…mock Pear w shell of white chocolate and semi sweet filling set on a butter cookie. Michelin star quality..

This exquisite steakhouse was within our hotel, XV Beacon, and was one of the most delightful dining experiences we have ever had. A knowledgeable staff and attentive service, PLUS incredible food! Don't miss this delicious dining adventure!

Mooo is a restaurant situated in the heart of Boston. It is one of the favorite modern steakhouse in historic Beacon Hill are. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a big smile and friendly service and we immediately felt comfortable. As you enter the place, a magnificent setting welcome you. The menu offers a wide variety of fantastic starters and very exquisite. All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients and you can taste the difference in comparison to some other restaurants We had a pleasant lunch experience with food of the most exquisite flavors. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Boston. And, the staff are lovely and can help with the menu. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing! Thanks to our sommelier for an incredible wine recommendation! Carlos, is the best host that you can ask for! We were very impressed by a special customer service by Carlos, so I highly recommend him. Carlos goes above and beyond what customers need and helps ensure we are happy. He is always very friendly, polite and definitely makes any client feel comfortable with his great attention. Carlos is very familiar with what is on your menu so he always recommends you the best options. I highly recommend going to the Mooo Beacon Hill. We will be back soon!
Big mistake
If the staff of Mooo thinks that they are superior to the guest there is something amiss in this establishment. Furthermore the prices are crazy! Never again!

We went here for my husbands birthday and had amazing food and service! Our server was so attentive and was good at giving recommendations and overall made our experience great! My husband had the Japanese Wagu Sirloin and said it was the best steak he has ever had, mushrooms were great as well, full of flavor. I personally loved the rolls, so buttery they didn't need the extra butter. For dessert we had the bananas foster that had a beautiful presentation and was VERY filling, we shared this and were incredibly full after this indulgent meal. Overall an amazing experience! Great for a special event / celebration.

Everything was cooked well and tasted great. However, it wasn't really much better than other similar steakhouses that are cheaper in price, such as Morton's. From a value standpoint you will pay significantly more here for a very similar meal you can find at a different chain steakhouse.We were also sat in row seating, whereas other steakhouses have given us a nice big table that allows more privacy. The two top table is also very uncomfortable since the base of the table is so big there is nowhere to put your feet except for directly on the base of the table. It sounds nitpicky but I found it very uncomfortable.Overall great meal, like I said the food is very good. I just feel like you can get a similar meal in a more comfortable situation for much cheaper elsewhere which is why I'm rating this 3 stars.

One of, if not the best meal I've ever had and truly deserves 6/5 stars. We went out for an early Valentine's Day dinner and Moooo didn't disappoint. We ordered the bone marrow and ceviche for apps. The ceviche was good, but the bone marrow was amazing. It comes with 2 big bones, a bowl of demi, and a roasted head of garlic served with 4 thick pieces of tasted buttered bread. It was amazingFor entrees my wife ordered the shrimp pasta and I got the dry aged bone-in steak. The pasta was heavy and rich, but it was so good. It came with 8 massive shrimp and my wife nearly made a dent. My steak was amazing. I didn't order any sauces for it, but the compound butter that's served with the steak was all I needed. For sides we ordered the tater tots with truffle aioli and the brussel sprouts. Both sides were amazing. I was bummed we were so full because there were a few items I wanted to try for dessert. Next time, oh next time.Besides the food, service was top notch where our server, support staff, and the manager were all very attentive and personable. We can't wait to go back for our next visit, thank you for an amazing early Valentine's Day dinner!
Stay away, deeply regret my birthday dinner here
They have a terrible layout and cram in as many tables as possible in a sub-optimal space. If you're unlucky enough to be stuffed in a corner against a wall they'll do nothing to accommodate you. Lighting is atrocious and you'll be blinded by other people using their phone flashlights to read the menu. The food is nothing going out of your way for. Truly the worst restaurant I've been to in years, I would never recommend it to friends, family, or enemies.

It is definitely priced high, it's still one of the better steakhouses out there - and worth it for a special occasion.Service was very warm, welcoming and attentive. Overall, one of the more memorable meals I've had recently and I'll be recommending it to my friends.
The service was really amazing.
They gave us a quiet seating area and it was really spacious inside. We ordered beef Wellington which was really tender and well seasoned. The side of onion rings and side of Mac and cheese were really amazing. I highly recommend for people going for anniversary and birthday.

Easily the best steakhouse in Boston in terms of food and aesthetic. If you want a table, definitely book way in advance but they also take walk-ins for dining at the bar.Everything was so delicious, their mashed potatoes and truffle fries were my favorite sides. I preferred the Winter in White cocktail but they were both great! The only hiccup was my Filet was way too rare the first time it came out (ordered medium rare). They re-fired it and gave new sides so everything ended up delicious nonetheless. Overall, it was an amazing & filling experience.

Seriously go! This place has 10/10 food, drinks, design, staff. Everyone was welcoming the moment we walked in. Every cocktail I tried was just what I wanted. The tuna was hands down the best I've had. Loved the wall art throughout the restaurant. It was a wonderful experience.

We had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary and our last night in Boston. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! It was also a beautiful restaurant. We highly recommend it!
Birthday dinner at Mooo
My husband and I recently took a trip to Boston to celebrate my birthday. On our first day in town, the hotel and the hotel bartender recommended Mooo for dinner. We were able to make online reservations within the next half hour and walked over to the restaurant. We walked in about 5:20 and were informed that they didn't start dinner service until 5:30 but to please have a seat and they would seat us shortly. Once seated, I received a menu with "Happy Birthday" printed across the top - nice touch. Prices are pretty comparable to any high end steak house. We decided to spit a steak, shrimp scampi, creamed spinach and brussel sprouts. While waiting for our dinner, they brought out the softest dinner rolls lightly salted on top with butter. Talk about melt in your mouth. The dinner was delicious. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought out a birthday desert compliments of the chef. It was a very enjoyable meal.

I made a birthday party reservation for 6 people at the last min and was very happy to be accommodate. I was asked what’s the occasion. Upon arrival we were seated right next to exit/ entrance. Smart staff would use common sense and figure out that people who come for regular dinner don’t need a special table and people with some sort of event might be pleased to have a better table. Waitress…. NO PERSONALITY or knowledge how to serve. Asked for chocolate martini and I was asked if I wanted olives. Then she came back and said they don’t have chocolate martini. Apple martini? Came back again with answer “no” I ordered a fish and my daughter ordered the same. Both of us got only half of the fish with!!!! STAKE knives. Fish was good though. Dropped utensil was never replaced. Basically we were self served the entire dinner. They should change the name of this place Mooo-Boooooo. Never again. ☝️

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at Mooo.... Boston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Mooo.... Boston!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
