Nice Park and Reservoir
Lower Seletar Park and Reservoir are located in Sembawang / Mandai area. The park itself is not big but quite pleasant to visit and strolls with friends & family until you reach the reservoir which offers nice views.

I joined my friends for an evening walk at lower pier reservoir. It was my 1st visit & i was surprised with the easy board walk. However the board walk was rather narrow & have to give way whenever there is 2 way human traffic flow. It was a rather short walk , we were able to enjoy the scenic view, the peace around reservoir (except some inconsiderate visitors just could not keep their voice low) & to catch the sunset. I have enjoyed the walk & finally explored this reservoir. I will be back Regards ML LEONG SINGAPORE

The Lower Peirce Reservoir, Singapore's second-oldest reservoir, was built by impounding the upper reaches of the Kallang River (the longest river in Singapore) and was commissioned in 1912. Hence it was originally named Kallang River Reservoir. In 1922, the reservoir was renamed the Peirce Reservoir in recognition of Robert Peirce, who was the Municipal Engineer of Singapore from 1901 to 1916. It acquired its current name in 1975, after the Upper Peirce Reservoir was built. This reservoir is like a compact MacRitchie Reservoir as the boardwalk trails, playground, fishing area and walking path around the reservoir with its draw-off tower are all within short walking distance. In fact it probably takes less than 1.5 hours to cover the Lower Pierce Reservoir. There are marvellous views of the rolling golf course of the Singapore Island Country Club and the Upper Pierce Reservoir. Although the boardwalk is only 900 m long, it is a peaceful walk by the water’s edge through a mature secondary forest. A plant seen along the walk is the Ant Plant (home for ants). The ant and this plant have a symbiotic relationship. The ant depends on this plant for its food while the plant is protected from being eaten up by other insects by the resident ant. The Nibong Palm, also seen here, has many thorns on its trunk. As the plot of land adjacent to it was formerly a rubber plantation, many rubber trees are also seen here. There are informative signboard along the boardwalk to educate about the flora and fauna of this forest.

A relatively easy and short boardwalk with great views. Many long.tailed macaques - wild, not aggressive & unperturbed by visitors. Plenty of fish in pristine waters. Boardwalk section is not suitable for wheel-chaired persons but the old original section is close to the carpark.

Be the first to ReplyNice Sunset Views
Had been meaning to visit this reservoir for quite sometime and finally got the time to do so. I planned and reached during Sunset and the views were amazing. The park itself is not that big as such won’t take much time to explore. However, it is well maintained and fishing is allowed so you will find a number of people trying their luck in it.

Singapore really conserve the parks very well and I'm really amazed by the sights that greets us when we do our walk in this park. It's a great place to relax, unwind, fish, exercise and take great pictures.

Great place to come over for a nice and easy stroll or even have a picnic in the midst of nature. Good for family bonding and relaxation. There are some monkeys but they are harmless. Pls do not feed the monkeys.
