This was such a great time; I first went to Nobu in Miami a few yrs ago. The reservation was for 6:15p, it was not too busy for a Friday night but it definitely picked up around 8 when we were about to leave. The ambiance is beautiful, the food, drinks and service were top notch. I had the starter yellowtail jalapeño which originated with them and you can taste it. My friend had the sushi and the lollipop wings. The lychee Martini (best seller) and French 75 was great as well. She loved her dishes, and so did I, after for the mains, we both got the lamb. We had such a great time and our waiter was so relatable, knowledgeable and friendly, he was so funny! We will definitely come back very soon.
Be the first to ReplyAll I can say is this restaurant is 100% worth the hype.
The food is soooooooo yummy, service is great and the ambiance is really nice.

I ordered the shiitake mushroom salad and a yellowtail hand roll for take out last night and am aghast at the quality. A good portion of the salad had wilted and rotten leaves. One even had visible mould! I tried eating what seemed like "ok" leaves since I was already back at my hotel and ended up with a stomachache a few hours later. This is not what I expected from a 5 star establishment. I will not be coming back again
Be the first to ReplyThe ambience and overall atmosphere was wonderful.
From the minute you walk in the door you are amazed at how beautiful the inside of this place is. The food and drinks were great! My girlfriends and I had lychee martinis and we absolutely loved them. A must have drink! As for the food I think we need to come back and try different options because it was good but not particularly special in my opinion. I'm giving 3 stars because our server was rude and made us feel like an inconvenience. We will be back to try other items on the menu and hopefully get better service!

Yes, it is pricy, but the service and food are worth every penny. It is truly perfection. And the staff was meticulous when dealing with my food allergy, which I greatly appreciate. If you want a special date night dinner, look no further.
Be the first to ReplyNobu is a No-go.
The vibe was good, but for a place claiming to be high end it didn't really stand out from the average sushi resturaunt. The menu it's self could use a little more organization. It's almost like playing a game of " Menu Russian Roulette" you don't know if the item you ordered is an actual entree or tapas style. I started by ordering the $60 Alaskan King crab. It was pretty much one finger of a crab leg cut up into a little pieces. After realizing that it was not going to be a full meal I then ordered Waygu tacos. I was expecting the tacos to be small, but to call this a taco is an injustice. It should be titled either mini taco or taco bite. All in all if you asked me what I had for dinner last night I am not really sure. I think I only ate appetizers.

I came here last week on my birthday and sat at the bar with three of my friends. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The drinks were amazing. I cannot get over how great the experience was and the drinks the bartender made us were fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyCame on a freezing MLK day after getting a haircut.
We didn't even eat here because the staff think they work the door at Studio 54. The hostess literally said "the bar is open" when we walked in. No hi or anything else. I asked if it's was the same menu, in a voice that said I could care less she says "yes" with a literal eye roll. There's legit 6 people here for lunch in the bar and all the tables say "reserved." So we wait for the waitress to be free and then ask if we can sit down and she said "oh you need to check in with the hostess" again with an eye roll like I just asked her what E= MC squared means. I'm like we did and she told us to come over. And she's like "ok" with the expression of zombie. I'm like "can we sit anywhere?" She is like "yah." I'm well it all says reserved on all tables and she is like "you can sit if you want" again in the most "I could give a rats ass" voice. That's when we just left. I get it, it's Nobu, but this is Chicago so take that stank ass attitude and shove it. There are plenty of better sushi options in this city where the staff don't act like bunch of Kardashians.

Be the first to ReplyGoing to Nobu was an amazing experience.
They cultivated a menu based off our likes and dislikes, and catered very well to a gluten allergy. The food was absolutely delicious. The best oysters, Maki, and scallops I have had to date. I came for a special occasion, and they threw in a beautiful desert with congratulations written on tempered chocolate. I left full from the tasting menu experience and would definitely do it again for another special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyOur experience was just overall terrible.
The food took very long, it came out in no good order. We noticed a bug on one of the sushi rolls. We told the server who was pouring water and he took the entire tray away and said we would get you another one. After he took the tray we noticed they were fruit flies flying around the table. We told our waiter and he said "yeah, there's nothing that I can do about that...Every time there is soy sauce there's going to be fruit flies...but I will talk to my manager".I've eaten at many sushi restaurants and Chinese restaurants with soy sauce always on the table and I never once have I seen fruit flies flying around the table...not to mention this is supposed to be a very upscale restaurant and that is very pricey.None the less I tried to enjoy the night with my family because we were celebrating my daughters 18th Birthday, but my wife could not eat after the bugs. Then they forgot about my drink...But to top it all off when we got the Bill the sushi tray that they took away was still charge to us, and we never got any replacement.I told our waiter, and he seemed to be frustrated. He went back to talk to his manager. Then he came back and they comped a couple drinks! But because of all the disappointment, I didn't even notice that I was charged for something that we didn't even order or eat.And finally, I asked for a receipt and our waiter completely forgot about us. We had to flag him down to get the receipt.I never have an issue with price or paying my bills...even though the overall experience was terrible...I still tipped 20%.I just want it to be known that for a very upscale restaurant, they should do more to make sure that the experience is great for their customers, especially for the price they are paying!
Be the first to ReplyI hear about Nobu everytime I travel.
I passed by one in Chicago at lunchtime and had to try. The service was great and cocktails were very good. I was expecting a larger sushi selection rather than just a few basic rolls. It was definitely worth saying I've been to one of the locations and tried their sushi, because it was delicious! However it was about $70 for 2 cocktails and a 6 piece salmon roll to share, so I would only plan to go if you are willing to treat yourself and prepare to spend closer to $200 for two people if you are really looking to have a meal.
Be the first to ReplyPopped up in town to celebrate my buddy's surprise bday.
Fresh off the plane went straight here to see him. It was a long 12 yrs since we've linked up. The service was amazing all the way around from hostess desk to all the cooks, servers etc. They made us feel like we were family and presented us with some of the best food I have had in a long time pre covid. Post covid it seems service is not the same in restaurants and or quality & presentations of food & beverage. That is absolutely NOT the case here! Everything was exquisite and divine. 1st tIme at Nobu's restaurants, won't be my last either. I will definitely tryout Matsuhisa in Colorado!!! It's been a long time since I was amazed and extremely happy with how great the food, beverage flavors & presentations were. From first bite I was speechless and could stop stuffing my face each new item or beverage they presented us with. If you are ever in the Westloop/ Greentown vicinity you must, I repeat must go to Nobu Chicago! Thank you for a great 1st night back in Chicago, that's how you start a Chicago trip!
Be the first to ReplyIt's a solid 4 star place.
Went with a group of friends and we enjoyed it, but the value is weak. One of the dishes we ordered was not fresh and tasted extremely fishy. I feel like the bare minimum at a sushi specific place is to make sure you're always serving fresh fish.
Be the first to ReplyServer casually asked if I'd like still or sparkling water.
I said still (as I pulled out my water bottle that I had ask I walked around the city), and I learned at the end of the meal that the water she brought me was $10. $10 FOR WATER!!!!! I didn't even know that was possible.Thought she was extremely friendly, server tried to sell apps and drinks before handing me the menu (so I can't see that this 6 pieces of fish is nearly $40) and also insinuates that there's another app (I can't remember the name) that they "just bring out while [you] decide what you'd like to order," so it sounds like it's like free peanuts/bread but it's not. Luckily I wasn't stupid enough to overtly say I wanted it so I was never sure if it was going to be brought to me or not. It wasn't. The sushi chef even tried to upsell me more food!I mean, I'm impressed with the training but it's slimy business to sell without transparency on pricing. So this yellowtail (which she said was hands down the best seller- I don't get the hype) was $40 before the $10 water. $50+ tip... I left hungrier than I'd arrived.

Great service! The server was very attentive and knowledge able the menu and the history of the restaurant. Order the wagyu tacos and the black cod. Amazing! Skip the sushi rolls. The ambiance would have been better if the lights were lower for dinner.
Be the first to ReplyNobu Chicago is the perfect spot for a special occasion.
Im so glad that Chicago gets a Nobu along with other major cities such as, Miami, New York, and, Las Vegas to name a few. Nobu does a great job making your experience feel luxe from the beautiful decor to the servers attentiveness. This was my second time here and I was so excited to see they added a Vegan Bento Box at this location. The box was extremely filling! It came with mini tacos, a kappa sushi roll, tofu and rice, and a warm mushroom salad. Before the box came out, the miso soup apart of the box was presented as an appetizer. We also ordered a separate kappa roll to share. Nobu has some of the freshest tasting sushi I've ever had!Their cocktails are also top-tier. We both got Lychee Martinis which I've gotten both times and is my favorite drink here! We also got the Chia Fizz and the Holy Smoke. Some things to note, it is on the pricier side (our bill for the two of us was $200 with tax and tip). You also do need to make reservations a month in advance because they fill up right away. I would love to come back to try their dinner menu and make it up to the rooftop!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time at Nobu Chicago and had the best time ever.
Made reservation ahead of time and celebrated a fun GNO! We were seated on the 11th floor rooftop area and we had the best view of the Chicago skyline. The service is exceptional, special shout-out to our server who recommended amazing drinks and dishes for us to try. Everything we tried was fantastic, both the house specials Salmon NuStyle and and White Fish Tiradito were so fresh, light , and flavorful. The wagyu dumpling, Malibu wings , spicy tuna and black cod butter lettuce are all must try's. Each of them were beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The dessert need a special mention as to how amazing they were. The chocolate passion parfait and the banana cake ( can't remember the exact name) was a 10/10! Pictures are not doing justice to how delicious they were. If you have never been to Nobu, this is your sign to get reservations and enjoy fine dining Nobu style. Valet parking available and highly recommend it.

Amazing food overall, have had nothing but super flavorful fish and the lobster was unreal.

Definitely an experience worth having! So many delicious items to choose. Food and drinks alike are off the charts! Tacos, cod, sushi....DELICIOUS!
Be the first to ReplyIf you wanna feel cool and uppety, go to Nobu.
However, the sushi isn't anything to write home about. I've had better sushi at hole in the wall BYOB sushi fronts around the city. However, the atmosphere and vibe at Nobu is perfect for a special occasion, night out, girls dinner, date night. The rooftop in the summer is to die for! You'll have fun here and you'll spend a lot of money. 10/10 still recommend

What a nice place, we just stop by for libations and some sushi. Oh my goodness it was delicious and the ambiance was so conducive to conversation and having fun with our friends who are locals.
Be the first to ReplyI've never left a sub-par YELP review.
That being said....Meh. $135 Omakase per person. 7 "courses" 4 cold, 2 hot, 1 dessert. 1st course: three very small bites of white fish sashimi (almost ceviche style), course 2: pretty much 2 bites of hamachi with caviar. Course 3: Seaweed salad 3 small bites of possibly mackerel (didn't hear server). Course 4 : nigiri. One piece each of Tamago, Kohada (gizzard shad), Salmon, and Ikura (Salmon Roe). Course 5: Small filet of Black Cod w/ miso. Course 6 Prob 4-5 oz (4 small bites) of Tenderloin in truffle butter. Course 7: Whiskey cappuccino. Overall, it prices out correctly if you order it all on the menu. But a $400+ tab for 2 omakase, 2 beers, and 2 cocktails? Meh. I've had much better omakase elsewhere 10-14 courses and left much more satisfied for the price. Nothing was mind blowing, Cod was the best. First 3 dishes all tasted like ceviche (fairly salty). If I could do it all over again i'd prob order nigiri and some tacos. Courses were fairly spaced out so it took 2 hours for the 7 dishes, so I left still a little hungry. The waitress really pressed for the "premium/chefs choice" menu, but I don't see how it would have been much better. Really wish we would have had a better experience, but I just can't recommend Nobu when there are many better options around town.
