NOMO SOHO New York Reviews from The Last Year
Terrible service, terrible location, terrible rooms.
First of all check in time is 4pm. Then the key cards they gave me don't work. The bathroom sink is in the main room and is almost clogged. The bathroom is a total of 10 sq feet, only a small shower next to where you poop. They only give you a small shampoo and body lotion bottle , how are you supposed to shower with those. I would not be staying here ever again.
I used to love staying here but it's obviously gone
I used to love staying here but it's obviously gone downhill. My mom came to visit me and booked a stay here after I recommended it and it was close to my apartment. She initially paid more for an early check in as she was taking the red eye. Both my mom and I called on the morning she flew in and gave her name for the early check in, where they confirmed her reservation but couldn't confirm the early check in. No problem- she came and hung out at my apartment until we decided to go to the hotel around 3pm for regular check in time. When we got there, the desk person was very cold and said we had to wait for a manager after we gave her name. (I'm not kidding they should use this guy for customer service training videos on how not to act). The manager came and told us that her reservation had been cancelled because her credit card had been declined (her card had been hacked so she had to get a new one, but she was charged before that so we thought it was fine- though she was probably only charged for half in retrospect). They emailed her ONCE the day before when she was on a flight/at the airport. No phone call or anything. And I get it- with all that happening, maybe we should've been checking the email more. But my main problem was how RUDE and unapologetic the manager and desk person was. We were treated so poorly and with no remorse. I work in client service and if I had to deliver bad news like that I would be problem-solving and apologizing to the nines. Just "nope it's cancelled, we're fully booked sorry i guess." They eventually started talking to each other (while we were standing right in front of them) about how they "might" be able to book her at the "bar rate" which is the direct hotel rate, but it would be a lot more expensive. When I tried to insert myself into the conversation by asking what they were talking about and what could be done, they were very dismissive and reluctantly explaining things to us. Like they were doing us such a privilege by doing their job. It finally worked itself out as we were able to get the stay at a rate more expensive than what she had originally booked (despite them telling us about 10x that they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do) after multiple attempts on our part to fix it. And when the desk person booked us, there was no spiel that the other, more-friendly desk person had given the people checking in next to us (letting them know about complimentary coffee, when breakfast was, etc). My mom called today to file a complaint with management and was met with the same manager on the phone who tried to pretend he didn't remember her and treated her poorly once again. We will be emailing the managers directly because this is entirely unacceptable. I get it, things happen, but to be treated with such poor customer service made the situation so much worse. If we were met with kindness I would absolutely not be writing this review. I don't know if it's because they thought she was a POS because her card got declined or if this is how they treat everybody, but looking at the other reviews here, it's safe to say it's the latter. To top it off, the hotel in general is not worth the price. No mini-fridge or coffee on the rooms. We called down for an ice bucket and they told us we had to go down to the bar to get it from the bartender. Just sucks with how much I used to love this place. Will not be staying again.
Absolutely terrible hotel!! Stay anywhere else but here.
I booked a day use and was treated like a criminal trying to get a free stay. There are two time slots that they have - 2-6pm and 4-9pm. I arrived around 5 as I thought I had booked 4-9pm. It was a honest mistake. The staff didn't mention the checkout time when I arrived so I again believed it was 9pm. I was in the room when staff came at 7pm and was told I had a maximum of 5 minutes to promptly leave the room. I explained the situation but they angrily told me I had overstayed my welcome and needed to leave as they had to clean the room immediately. They acted as if I had this planned and intentionally was trying to get a free stay. If this were the case why would I arrive at 5pm with only an hour left to spare? I doubt that this is a fully booked hotel (why else do they have dayuse lol) and that many people were still checking in at 7pm. I was only in the room for a total of two hours. I double checked and they still had rooms available til 9pm. I doubt they had to clean the room with the immediate urgency portrayed. Also housekeeping was still there at 7pm? Doubt it. Despite my explanation and offer to pay for the "extra" time, staff was extremely rude to an extent that I have never been treated at any hotel. It was a simple misunderstanding but I was treated like a fraud and like I was holding up the entire hotel operation and was staying there illegally. To add insult to injury, it was also my birthday! I'm disappointed by the experience and am leaving with a bitter taste in my mouth about this place. I've stayed here often but will not be back again. Don't expect to be treated well even if you are a paying customer here
Wrongfully charged your customers.
And when ppl reached out to get some clarification, you didnot give their answer until the media took the matter in hand

Convenient location located in SOHO.
There are a lot of walkable restaurants, small convenient stores and shopping districts right near the hotel. Interiors of the hotels are very pretty. I stayed at the Classic King room and loved the blue hue theme. Only downside is the small bathroom where it is like an open spaced shower?? There is no door, so some water will be splashed outside. The ventilation of bathroom is weak, which makes the whole room smells like mildew. Also there is a daily amenity fees around 40$. But there isn't a lot of amenities provided. There is no fridge, microwave or kettle. Plus side is the the TV app streaming from your phone.

A beautiful soho hotel with remarkable views, a lovely ambience but with a few glitches. My room was spacious and spotless but lacking any glasses or cups. How does one brush their teeth or drink tap water to take a pill? Never seen a hotel room without them. Also my shears had snags and the edges of the wooden furniture had nicks. Comfy bed, and luxurious shower. But the hotel has no vending or ice machines, so that was inconvenient after hours.
This hotel was very nice.
It was pretty and the workers were very polite. We did have to ask for a few things for the room. We had to ask for a refrigerator, to make the pull out sofa into a bed, and a tea kettle. There weren't any tea kettles left. However, there was a coffee and tea cart by the check in desk. This made up for the fact that coffee machines were not available in the room. I recommend calling ahead and making sure there is a refrigerator, tea kettle, and that the sofa is made into a bed if you will be using it. The location is also great. It's just down the street from little Italy, Chinatown, and fun shopping.

The heater in the room it's not working , the room temperature now it's on 59 , nobody is giving me a solution on this matters , I can't sleep and I feel sick from the cold, dirty rooms and poor management . Got the most expensive room and that's what I got
Do not stay here.
This place has bed bugs. We checked into and my husband checks the mattress in every hotel we stay at to make sure. He's smart. Any hotel can have it. I see red spots everywhere I take photos we immediately leave to go to the lobby to calmly explain the situation. I say hey we have a problem the first word out of the front desk mouth I shit you not he said "bugs"?. I said yes. He said I can give you another room. Who would stay in a hotel that has bed bugs!??? That's like saying hey this rooms on fire you want to go to stay in another one above it? No I need a refund I need to leave. You now inconvenienced me because I have to find a place to stay quickly and I'm freaked out because your hotel is gross. I talk to the manger and she "pretends" to care. I show her the photos she doesn't question what her eyeballs are seeing. She says she wants to make this "right" I say thank you. As this is happening another guest had to move her room because she had a an issue with mold and mildew. This is all in 6 minutes. Can you imagine what you would hear if you sat in the lobby for 30 minutes. I was told I would get a refund from them. They said I had to talk to Priceline first I did. They talked with the hotel and they said there was no issue and since we pulled the sheets back I can't get the refund. I will be making a claim to Priceline, the hotel and the nyc health department. Don't fuck with me.

Stayed here 5 nights, was beautiful walking in very nice staff on the opening floor, when getting to my room the bed frame was peeling, the light next to the bed was broken, the shower handle was faulty, and the corners of the bathroom were dusty and looked yellow. When it came time for checkout at the end of our stay we were handed our bill as we were walking out the door just to look at it on our way to the airport and see we were slammed with a $500 BOGUS smoking charge. we in fact did not smoke. After traveling back home, went and called nomo soho and asked them why we were charged with this fee when we did not smoke. they said they would send over a smoking report "when the detector triggered" and it said between 3:15-3:25 am. and that was the single and only time it "triggered". i was dead asleep. I told them i do not want to be charged with this fee as it's incorrect and they wouldn't do anything about it. I always called with respect and a good attitude and i was met with complete disrespect from the manager who lectured me and treated me like a child. I wish i read the reviews on this hotel before booking. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL
I stayed at NoMo SoHo and was thoroughly disappointed.
The bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom offered little privacy. However, what truly soured my experience was the unjust $500 smoking fee they charged us. Despite not smoking in the room, they refuse to refund it, displaying blatant disregard for customer honesty. Avoid this establishment at all costs.
Worst customer service.
Won't allow you to make any changes or requests! Please book with a BRAND hotel and don't waste your money!
They are charging me a smoking fee when I DO NOT SMOKE.
I was never told of the $573 fee at check out, saw the charge on my credit card a few days later. I called the hotel, they said they would look into it and get back to me, as yet no response, they are avoiding the issue. Steer clear of this place, it seems this is on ongoing practice at this hotel, a way to boost your bill with no recourse. Very disappointing.

Was doing a one night staycation with my gf to celebrate a new job. The room was underwhelming and food at the restaurant was just fine, but way over priced. That was all fine we were celebrating and it was just one night so we weren't sweating it too much. Upon checkout there was a charge for two drinks on the room that we had not ordered, I paid for our dinner with my credit card. We disputed at checkout and they told us that they took the drinks off. A day later I am paying my credit card bill and see they have charged me an additional $658 dollars. I called to get to the bottom of it and after over an hour of trying to get someone on the phone who would just tell me what the charge was found out it was a $500 smoking fee, a drink charged to the room and tax. Neither of us smoke and apparently the alarm tripped moments after we entered the room. I also found out that although they said they had taken the drinks off at checkout they had really only taken one off and were still charging $31 for a shot of tequila we did not order. Trying to get it squared away but really bad taste in our mouths. I see there are multiple reviews stating the same thing and the person I am talking to even admitted they have had lots of complaints about the smoke system. We have done multiple staycations in the city over the years, but this left us feeling a bit like they are trying to scam us. Maybe it's just bad luck and hopefully it gets resolved soon, but with the fraudulent drink charges to the room and the smoking fee when we dont smoke I think I would suggest avoiding this place. There are plenty of great hotels in the city.
Very average.
Not sure how it made it on the Platinum AmEx list but better options elsewhere unless you're on a tight tight budget
