Not just another burger!
At first I thought Iโll just order a burger, to my surprise it's so much more than "just a burger." I mean... that first bite-oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then... a pickle! The most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a... a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, This is God, speaking to us in food. A wonderful person name Danny, who assisted me with what I should order due to the fact Iโm from out of town, and I have never had Northstar before. Iโll definitely be returning!

I had the egg on brioche (with a ricotta pancake on the side); my husband had a sausage and egg biscuit. Truly fantastic!

We had pizza, fish sandwiches and a hamburger. All of us were happy with our meals. The homemade ginger beer was a favorite, and the young lady who took our order was helpful and patient.
Be the first to ReplyWonโt accept cash
I went into the North Star Cafe in Westerville Ohio today (1/20/23) and as I laid cash down was told they donโt accept cash. Thatโs ridiculous. I wonโt be going back.
Be the first to ReplyLove Northstar! Wish they had more locations!
Went for lunch in the Short North after my doctorโs appointment at The James. I had the Buddha Bowl with chicken. I love this dish and everything else Iโve had there. We eat at the Easton and Liberty Center locations as well! Love how healthy and tasty it is! Need more locations so I donโt have to try to recreate the recipes!
Be the first to ReplyEclectic offering in Easton
We chose this restaurant because it was Friday night around 7 pm and there was open seating. We are from Cleveland so we had no idea what to expect. It was a different kind of restaurant. We walked in and quickly figured out that we ordered and paid at the counter, got our drinks and found our own table. The menu had different offerings. I had pad thai, my friend had a pizza and my other friend had a burger - something for everyone. The good was good, nothing to write home about. The cookies looked tempting! Live jazz music was different. I'd go back and try something else.

Let me start with not understanding why people would wait in such a long line. Apparently, one waits in line to order, and then when you get your food, you can go sit. The line was very long - not something I'd ever wait in, and the restaurant seemed too nice for this kind of set up. So we walked in the front door, sat at the bar right away, got served quickly - food was great, drinks were great and service was great - seems like the right way to go!
Be the first to ReplyNorthstar Burger
The Northstar Burger, a vegetarian burger, is a rare find in the world of meatless dining, both delicious and filling.
Be the first to ReplyIndifferent is the word I'm looking for.
It's a puzzle indeed. Outside, the layout and warmth of the interior are beckoning. You step in and prepare for something different. The problem is there. The food is decent, but nothing memorable. The local sodas were a nice touch, but their flavor left something to be desired Overpriced but not obscene. The staff is polite, but definitely indifferent to their jobs, and your presence there. None really came to check on our table. It makes sense given it's a lot like the way I felt. Just plain indifferent. Can't recommend or advise against it here. Flip a coin. If you're looking for a quick light hearted meal that doesn't need to be special, it could be a go. Wouldn't recommend for couples.
Be the first to ReplyNO CASH ACCEPTED
It is ridiculous that in the United States of America a public restaurant will not accept cash as payment credit card or debit card only, shame on you Northstar Cafรฉ
Be the first to ReplyAbove and beyond, *****
Always a favorite but was pleasantly surprised yesterday with the staff and management. After having a wonderful dine in experience, there was a mixup on my to-go order. I called in and spoke to the manager and he went above and beyond to make up for the error (which may not have even been their fault!). I love this place and am excited to report, especially in these current staffing shortages, that they still have wonderful customer service. And amazing food, as always. Will be back tonight!
Be the first to ReplyTasty but a little pricey
We ate breakfast at the Short North location. Would have been happier if they opened earlier than 9 AM. Set up cafeteria style where you order at a counter and they bring it to you. The food was good and the quantity was sufficient. There were nice choices for vegetarians (breakfast is usually easy anyways). Waiters were very polite and helpful. Coffee was good and strong, but crazy $ for 2 coffees was $8. Our breakfast totaled $43 for 2 people and we only had eggs and pancakes.

I love this place and have gone often. The salads are wonderful and the burgers are fabulous! When our friend comes to visit from Vermont, he eats most of his meals here. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAn Easton Brunch Must!
We ate here twice over our weekend stay- it was that good! I had the mushroom frittata one day for brunch and then a salad one day for lunch. Both were delicious. Service was friendly and everything was very clean. A bit of a line.

Fabulous breakfast, lunch, and coffee. The new bar and decor are very pleasant. The staff is very responsive and courteous.
Be the first to ReplySubpar Service on Fatherโs Day 2021
If I could give a 0/10, I would! Our service was so subpar. I know the deal with ordering and then seating but our waitress never came to ask if we needed napkins, ketchup, salt, pepper, etc. We were dining with our child and would have appreciated someone at least asking if we needed anything other than what we could get for ourselves. Due to COVID, none of the usual things like salt, ketchup, etc are out near the water stands, understandable, but I cannot and refuse to accept a MIA waitress. Additionally, we ordered drinks from the bar and literally watched them sit there for six minutes before our waitress delivered them to our table, so they were watered down. Subpar service, will never return. I told the manager and she said thanks for dining. This is how this place treats people.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome as Usual
I had the mushroom frittata and it was delicious. I wish they had better coffee/ espresso options.
My wife enjoyed bacon and eggs.
Well deserved, positive reputation
Super tasty food, modern atmosphere and attentive and friendly staff. I ordered the mint iced coffee with oat milk, a giant chocolate chip cookie. For the entree, I enjoyed the fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. All delicious. Pl note there are several Northstar locations in Columbus, each with slightly different menus. I look forward to trying out another!
