Stand out flavours to make your eyes pop!
Wasnโt sure what to expect, none of our party are vegan, but the menu looked interesting so we gave it a try based on reviews. Wow! Outstanding, unique flavours, subtle and clean, havenโt tasted anything quite like this before, such clever flavour combinations with an abundance of smokiness. No one flavour was overpowering in any of the dishes, flavour even jumped out from the smallest morsel of trimming. We had eight small sharing plates between three of us which was sufficient, and a great way to taste the menu. Some of the plates are more filling than others as some have flatbread or bread, and others are more delicate. The produce is high quality, sweet and earthy. Highly recommend, we all plan to revisit with our families in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyDid not offer an experience commensurate with the price
We are not vegetarian but as a first time experience I decided to try it out. Dishes were on the whole tasty but other than 2 dishes from the total of 6 or so tapas style offerings really impressed. We found it quite pricey for the experience.

In the heart of Bath, Oak is a delight, A gem where culinary arts ignite. Dishes bloom with vibrant flair, Each bite a canvas crafted with care. Flavors mingle, bold and new. In combinations thrill and hue. A spot so warm, inviting, and bright, Oak shines as Bathโs dining highlight. Step through the door, take a seat. Prepare for a meal thatโs sure to treat. For here at Oak, every dish is a treasure, And the staff you ask? Well theyโre a pleasure.

Was actually on my way to eat somewhere else when I stumbled upon this place and had a lovely seat at the window I only had the broccoli flatbread infused with wild garlic and it was more than enough for lunch. It was one of the tastiest things I have eaten (I love garlic) and service was exceptional Will come back again and try other dishes with friends
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
We eagerly looked forward to dining here. Sadly left feeling very disappointed. The dishes, of which we had five, had no nice clean flavours. Many were overpowered by smoke and were rather sickly. We love vegetarian cookery when done well. But as locals we will not be returning.

Visited Oak for lunch for the first time. Everything was amazing - location, food and service. Good selection of wines and drinks too. Definitely will be back.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and so accommodating for gluten-free
The food here was really wonderful and the staff were so kind and helpful. I'm very sensitive to cross-contamination so usually book in advance but even though we just turned up on the day it wasn't an issue and they even offered to adapt if we wanted! It's rare to find restaurants that offer dishes that are exciting and different, where you don't know what to expect, and we loved all the flavours and the freshness of the ingredients. Worth a trip back to the city for this restaurant alone!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding flavours!
Outstanding flavours, every plate a delight! The roasted cauliflower soup tasted amazing with the home baked bread, the broccoli ricotta flatbread & potato terrine both outstanding & packed with flavour. The custard tart with nutmeg ice cream was out of this world! Really special birthday lunch followed by a film at the Tivoli, perfect on a drizzly February day.

Lovely atmosphere, wonderful staff, and some of the best food I've ever tasted; I highly recommend the Jerusalem Artichokes with Ajo Blanco sauce!

unbelievable flavours. On reading the menu it looked so simple but the thought that must have gone into these amazing dishes can be nothing but simple. Every mouthful was a delight and the passionate knowledgeable staff who were only too happy explaining how the dishes were made, really enhanced the experience. This is restaurant redefines food...just amazing.

Imaginative use of flavourful seasonal ingredients, technically spot-on especially the waxy breads with crisp crust, Jerusalem artichokes in their crisp skins, velvety celeriac soup. Intrinsic flavours brought out, and in clever combinations. Look forward to returning. Austrian house wine is excellent: black cherry and dusty rose.

The menu was very interesting and well executed! The staff were all very attentive. The overall price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend a visit!
Be the first to Replylacked proper knowledge of ingredients used
Trendy vegetarian restaurant in the centre of Bath. Visited when it was Demuth's many times and always impressed. Important to say Oaks is not the same. From my experience today it lacks a real understanding of the ingredients used. Soup was barely warm too. Consequently, I was disappointed and would not visit again. It was busy with a pleasant atmosphere and no doubt suits others.

Just had a really delightful meal and all round lovely experience where we were really looked after by Harry - food was delicious and great flavours all presented beautifully - charming service in a relaxed unpretentious environment - definitely recommend this plant based restaurant - thank you

Gr8 Cauli curry but sparse on the Cauli. Roasted carrot dish was cold. Sent it back. Waited ages and it did not appear. Oh well. Their loss.

An absolutely brilliant find. The food was out of this world. I loved the charg dahl curry, artichokes, Winchester flatbread. Absolutely hats off to the chef. Canโt wait to visit again. Fresh food served piping hot.

Outstanding menu with amazing vegan selection. The artichoke dish was incredible. And the bread might be the best focaccia Iโve ever had

We had a wonderful evening. I read some reviews and thought I may leave hungry or disappointed but, after the 5 course tasting menu, we were incredibly full and very happy. The food was amazing (especially the Jerusalem artichokes). The wine flight was good value. The staff were great. I would happily return again and again if we lived a little closer.

Out of all the many restaurants in Bath, Oak surpasses without a doubt. The intimate dining experience gives a cosy feel and a sense of comfort. The dรฉcor is simple but beautiful. The food was delicious, a culinary triumph. To achieve flavours of those levels with such simple and sometimes neglected ingredients is a skill beyond words. I cannot write something without mentioning the staff. Young, passionate and knowledgeable, things that industry desperately needs. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I meet. Bloody amazing!

Second time in Bath and the first restaurant we went back into for the second time. Itโs different, itโs interesting and should be on everyoneโs list to try something different.
Be the first to ReplySuch a shame!
We first visited this restaurant when it was 'The Acorn' and loved it so much we were excited to return to experience the new, 'matured' Oak (Michelin reviewers words). Unfortunately we never got to sample the food as we were seated downstairs, which has 3 small tables and is right outside the kitchen. We sat down and could hardly hear each other over the sound of food processors, clattering of pans and order shouts from the Chefs. Absolutely not the Chefs fault but these tables should not be in use for paying customers! We asked to move but were told there were no available tables so we left without trying the food. The whole experience ruined it for us so we won't return but if you decide to go make sure they don't put you downstairs!

This was a very lovely surprise. I was taken here for a special treat, I am not a vegetarian & wasn't expecting a vegetarian restaurant. It was the best meal I have had in many years. The food was sublime & the service excellent in a great atmosphere.

I originally visited in 2018 and the food is just as delicious now. Great service and they were able to 'veganise' one of the desserts for me. Lovely atmosphere inside and delicious for, I would recommend to anyone visiting Bath.
Be the first to ReplyFaultless food, splendid service and charm in spades.
We visited during a weekend trip to Bath and I will be returning here every time I'm in the city! The food was excellent and the small dish style allows you to try significantly more than you would have with one large plate. I've been fortunate enough to eat in several michelin star restaurants but this is some of the best quality food I've had, and the rustic charm of the place makes you feel as comfortable as if you were eating supper at a friend's house! Service was super friendly and informative about the dishes. Overall it was faultless. Have already recommended it to friends.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Great Concept, Great Atmosphere
We had dinner at Oak during our 2-night stay in Bath and loved the experience. We didn't know what to expect from a vegetarian restaurant, but it was great. Most of the dishes were hits, with a few misses. The eclectic furnishings and rustic vibe added to the experience. We saw that some of the reviews are really critical of the ~essentially veggies only offerings (versus a mix of veggies, carbs, and protein), but we really liked the dishes as a refreshing change.
