Beautiful but overpriced
The place is beautiful and our outside table had a great view of the valley, but the menu prices were for fine dining and food didn't reflect that. I might go back for lunch one day, but mostly for the view.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Well I should say, I'm not often impressed by many hospitality experiences these days ,especially when it comes to cuisine. The restaurant was abuzz and I was early so I checked in and made my way to the bar. The bar staff was busy but they got me soon enough. When my party arrived, we were seated. They were able to accommodate my request for a window seat with a view of the city. Outstanding view. Our server (Nancy) was wonderful and very accommodating but not overbearing. The food came out on time and was delicious. My salmon was a little fishy and was not flaky. The presentation was gorgeous. We ordered an Italian Pinot Grigio I had not heard of but it was full-bodied. Nancy noticed I didn't ask for a to-go box for my salmon and that it was almost all still on my plate. She mentioned it and I said it was a little fishy. She must have immediately notified the manager (Hayden Janus), because he came to our table almost immediately and asked how my salmon was (not just how was dinner, which I appreciate). I explained it was a bit fishy and was not flaky. To note, this happens sometimes but it's not always detectable until you taste it. Hayden expressed his apologies and offered to remove it from the meal. The entire experience was wonderful and I plan to go back. The view is exquisite!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Thanksgiving Dinner - Not a Fine Dining Experience
Despite having made a reservation a month prior, we were relegated to a basement room that was freezing with no ambiance. A $400 bill for extremely mediocre food and a 45-minute wait for a dessert that was clearly thrown in a microwave. The server did his best in an understaffed situation. Not once were our water glasses refilled. It was an extremely disappointing Thanksgiving meal for our family. We will not be returning to this restaurant EVER.

I took my girlfriend here for a romantic dinner, and was told by the hostess, "Since it's a date, I'm going to sit you at my favorite table". The table had an overgrown bush with a pole sticking out the top that completely blocked the view. The food was equally underwhelming. They brought only one piece of bread for the table, even though there were two of us. The crab cake, (because once again, there was only one), gave us indigestion and the waitress forgot that while we were splitting the meat for the prime rib, we had ordered separate sides. Will not be returning.
Be the first to ReplyTop five worst meals ever!
I don't write a lot of reviews but the food at this place was so bad I felt compelled to warn other people. I went there with my son yesterday for his 21st birthday. We ordered the breakfast platter for two for $60. When the platter came out the server was sweating profusely. As he put the platter on the table sweat was dripping from his face into our food. The platter itself consisted of a 6 ounce piece of dried up prime rib. So thin and dry it was the consistency of bacon. One eggs Benedict. It was served with no hollandaise sauce. Just 1 egg and a piece of ham on 1/2 an English muffin. The egg was completely dry and crusted. It also came with waffles which were burnt. 1 waffle cut into four pieces. Two sausages two pieces of bacon. It also came with crab legs which were cold but that may be how they intended to serve them. It was also supposed to come with smashed tater tot's but we did not receive them. I may be crazy but when you order a $60 platter for two you would expect to at least get 2 of everything. The views were nice and the waitress was nice. The food on the other hand was shockingly bad. Without a doubt one of the worst food experiences I have ever had. Hands down!
Be the first to ReplyGreat happy hour
We went to the Odyssey Restaurant last Friday night as we have a $100 gift card that have had for 10 or more years. Plus we were down in the LA area. We went for dinner but started in the bar for a drink before dinner, cause the restaurant wasn't open yet. We ended up having a couple of odevores. And we're too full. We had the Crab cakes (3) for $17. Very good lots of crab. And the spinach dip. $7 on hh menu I had a couple of glasses of merlot and the wife had a couple of whiskeys. We were just too full to have a big, meal. The views are great. At 4 pm this time of year the sun shines pretty hard in your face in the bar. But still a great place. Our waiter David G (#604) was very good. OAttentive but not intruding. We will be back again, but will probably skip Odevores.
Be the first to ReplyDinner with a view
We sent to dinner with some friends from out of state. It was mid week about 7 pm. They had indoor or patio choice of seating with an unobstructedview of the San Fernando Valley. The view during the day is nice, but at night, the lights are magical. The food was tasty and the service was pleasant and attentive. I have been there for banquets which has good beef and veggi plates. They also have a chicken plate, but I've never ordered that. The food is good no matter what time you go.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent view of the valley
Went for cocktails and appetizers on Saturday afternoon; our server, David, was very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The cocktails were excellent and the service excellent. We enjoyed the appetizers and the view. A nice quiet afternoon.
Be the first to ReplyNice ambiance and view but $$$ Pricey
Took some friends there mostly for the view. Horrible service. Anytime we asked for something it was somebody else's job. As for price..there were four of us, we had an appetizer plate ($32), glass of wine (small) $12, dessert ($34). Eclectic menu (chicken and waffles) we did not try that. $140 bill for a couple snacks and wine. Yikes!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat view, okay food
My husband and I visited Odyssey for the first time during DineLA restaurant week to try out their special menu. I was lured by the views I saw online, which ended up being lovely and everything I'd hoped for. The food, unfortunately, was just okay. I so wanted to love it since the staff was nice, there was easily available parking and because of the great view--all rarities in LA--but we just weren't very impressed. I was glad we did the DineLA special, as the prices were lower than what we'd usually pay, so weren't too put out. That being said, we'll still go back a few more times to take in the view and see if we might better enjoy some other items from the menu. Here's hoping!
