Never Again
Loud/obnoxious waiter. Our million $ porterhouse was not very rare as ordered and full of fat ,grizzle and marble. I do believe it was not “prime” , personally I can get the best from Bush bros. The manager tried, toooo late. We have gone for years, but never again sadly.

Be the first to ReplyMy son’s 33 birthday! The time flew by!!
We had a wonderful meal together and I could not have been happier with our dinner choice! We did not have reservations but they seated us in 15 minutes after predicting 45 minutes (Saturday night 6:30pm). We all got steaks- a must! I had the 9oz sirloin with shrimp- absolutely delicious! My husband and son did the 13 oz and my future daughter in law got the filet mignon barrel cut. Fire roasted corn is a must, and the mashed potatoes are incredible. My son Billy received his birthday steak for FREE as he is a VIP!! It was $51 off the bill! Amazing! We are going to be back in West Palm in February and we will definitely be back to enjoy the restaurant again. Staff was attentive and very friendly. Our server added to our great experience.

Be the first to Replywhat a disappointment
I have been to Okeechobee steak house several time in the past. It has always been reasonably good. However this time was a complete disappointment. My wife and I each ordered the house salad but I ordered the blue cheese dressing and it was lacking chunks of blue cheese and flavor. The rolls were sad. If you are going to serve bread give something good. My wife had the tenderloin tidbits which she enjoyed. I ordered the boneless strip and some shrimp with crabmeat stuffing. We had a side of cream spinach and corn. The steak was one of the worst I have had thinking that it was an end cut with many veins and although I am sure they wouldn't serve less than prime - it certainly tasted like it was. It lacked any flavor and actually I had to spit out almost every bite because I couldn't chew it because of the veins. I stopped eating after only 1/4 of the steak. The stuffed shrimp were too small for the price. I expected a U/10 or 13/15 size but they were more like a 16/20 or 21/25. There was little stuffing and little crab in the stuffing and over cooked. The sides were just OK - could be better. Not sure I would be proud to offer that kind of food if I was the owner.

After 75 years in business we wrongly assumed the food would be great; it wasn’t!! The meat was tenderized and of poor quality and too expensive for what it was. We will NEVER return! The service was SLOW!

We were a half hour early... They sat us right away even though it appeared to be busy. Ashley was amazing! The only thing I regret is crusting my steak. Get your steak as it is! Thank you, Ashley, for great, attentive service!!!

Went for my sons birthday. If you show your Id you get a free meal if you prove it’s your birthday. All our meals were fantastic. It’s pricey but worth the experience. Good for a special event.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing place for steak
Incredible ....... Great food and amazing staff...... Loved the decor and attention to detail....... The place is a landmark and it has an elegance about it but then that's how a steakhouse should be ....... Also it's consistency in it's good key to it's success

Be the first to ReplyDisappointed this visit..
I have been a loyal fan of Okeechobee Steakhouse for 30 years with my family. The ambiance is of an old world steakhouse! The food and service has always been 5 Star! My review is from Tuesday 11/22/22 at 7pm. I was shocked to see how some customers were dressed. If I’m paying $400. For dinner I don’t want to look like I’m at the beach. I guess dress codes are no longer in effect. I’m not a snub and I work 3 jobs but I was almost embarrassed for some of the customers. Now to the food.. as I said as a family we have been a fan for 30 years. We were surprised to find out that the steak entrees no longer offered a salad. I get the raise in price for the Delmonico steak to $59.99 from $54.99 - the cost of everything is going up.. the salad they offered with dinner for years and years was huge! A great value! I just wished they either made it smaller or let the loyal customer know. Now to my Delmonico steak Pittsburgh style medium rare.. I’ve ordered it that way for years and years.. In the past it’s been perfectly cooked- like butter and delicious! Last night it was not.. since it was our family Thanksgiving celebration and my brother in law was treating I chose not to say anything. It tasted like freezer burn and came out medium to medium well.. I’m sure it wasn’t frozen but it had a weird taste. We always order the side of mushrooms. Well this time we literally got 8 small mushrooms.. half the amount we usually get. JC was our server and was efficient. The service in the past was always excellent. The bottle of wine, the calamari and the coconut cream pie were amazing- As always!!! Just a little disappointed this visit.. as a loyal customer every restaurant has an off night.. we will be back..
Be the first to ReplyWorst steakhouse ever!!
Probably the worst steakhouse I’ve ever been too…can’t figure out why there still in business since 1947 Raw steak…cold potato…sent back not much better??? Nothing offered to compensate???
Be the first to ReplyMEDIOCRE AT BEST!
I feel terrible to write this as I have been loyal for almost 25 years and noticed a severe decline in quality especially over the past several years. I do not mind paying for a great meal as long as it is awesome. This was not in any way. We were a larger group and all excited and hungry. To start service was top notch as usual and the French Onion soup knocked it out of the park. The Greek salad dressing was also very good. That unfortunately is where the praise ends. The filet at $73 truly sucked. It was marketed as a center barrel cut, however it had the chain attached with some chewy gristle. There was zero marbling and YES on a nice prime filet there should be some marbling. It had a lot of chew and lacked seasoning altogether. A failure. One of my guests got the porterhouse for 2 ordered medium and it was bright red cool to the touch raw. Another guest ordered a rib eye which they ordered med rare and came out gray and med well. The side potatoes the server raved about were just average. The prices are nosebleed expensive and I feel they are riding on their reputation at this point which is unfortunate. There is a problem when I can go to Costco, buy their PRIME filet simply season with kosher salt and pepper and have an absoutely amazing steak for $15 that smokes what I ate at Okee. Perhaps an off night for them, but think the best bet is go for happy hour for bar burgers and drinks, that makes sense. But when you spend $300 on dinner for 2 and better blow you away!
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing Birthday dinner
Don’t be fooled with the plastic wrapped “dry aged” steaks they bring out on a tray. A bad chef destroys everything…completely overcooked tenderloin steak. The $16.00 Brussels we’re hard and unappetizing, with a sauce drizzled on the side to camouflage the low quality vegetables. Mashed potatoes were watery with a bit of garlic added..Urgh! Mediocre ambience and they couldn’t find the wine I ordered until 45 minutes later. All this for $300.00! …the only thing upscale about this “joint” was the price. To be fair “Robert our waiter” was the only thing that measured up! Definitely won’t go back!

I've been to a lot of steakhouses, and a lot of those were in Florida, and this one just doesn't stack up. It was just bang average.

Another wonderful dinner at Okeechobee steakhouse. My favorite steakhouse when visiting West Palm Beach. We started with their fabulous and tasty crab cakes and an excellent bottle of Brunello di Montalcino. The house salad with vinaigrette dressing was refreshing. Our filets were juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. Our baked potato was the perfect compliment to our filets. Our key lime pie was a nice size portion and just right for two people. We ended the night with a cappuccino. Our waiter, Brad provided excellent service and enhanced our dining experience. Us foodies will definitely be back!

My family dined here while vacationing in WPB and it was a nice break from the pretentious restaurants near our hotel on Worth. We love a great steakhouse and this one fit the bill. Very old school (they show you all of the different cuts of steak on a tray) and reasonably priced. We had their trademark sirloin and the filet, lobster mac and cheese and creamed corn...wedge salads and Caesar were excellent as well. Wine was priced very reasonable as well. Our waitress was great and we highly recommend this establishment!
Be the first to ReplyService Made The Difference
We decided to take friends out to thank them for some help they gave us and wanted to make the night special. We made reservations at Okeechobee, with this being our first visit here. It was recommended by my brother in law who spoke highly of the food. Our arrive gave some concern as the outside appearance is not overly impressive, and parking was difficult. Having frequented NYC steakhouses over the years (Gallagher’s, Keens, Old Homestead & Ben Bensons) we had a comparative to set the bar at with our expectations for our dinner. Outside appearance was not reflective of the atmosphere inside. Not as historical as the aforementioned steakhouses, but nice with some history in its own rights. Our server was David. I must say that he was exceptional, fun/entertaining, and he knew the menu and helped with questions or providing suggestions. In short, David was the gem of the visit, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. We had a variety of drinks (martinis, drafts, whiskey) and some appetizers. The tempura shrimp was excellent and our favorite. Our entrees included porterhouse, black & white filet, and a rib steak. All were very good, although I would say some of the NYC cuts were as good or perhaps at times a bit better. Not much of a difference so credit to Okeechobee for their quality. Veggies and bottles of wine rounded out the dinner, followed by espressos, cappuccinos and key lime pie (something NYC cant do !!). We left very happy and thankful we were seated with David as our server. Okeechobee is not a cheap place to eat, our bill was steep but reasonable and we fully enjoyed our dinner and time with our friends.
