Went with a group of friends and everyone had a certain criticism to say about the food. - Rice was stale, old, reheated. - Staff was not busy, yet inattentive. - Chicken was overcooked and dry The meal was just not worth the price.

Nice food, dependable service, consistent quality of everything. It tends to be quiet during weeknights, which gives an occasional feeling of being forsaken l - but that can be nice for an intimate evening, too.
Be the first to ReplyI always enjoy coming here.
I love the food and the interior is nice. It surprises me that it's not as busy as you'd expect but it makes it easy to get a table. Zucchini chips - my favorite thing to get here!! Opa fries - nothing too special but good quantity Lemon chicken orzo - creamy, sweet, and delicious, my go-to Falafel pita - one of the better places serving falafel

We had a breakfast here on Sunday morning when all other breakfast places are packed. We got seated quickly. Only one waiter is serving. But he is very kind, tried his best to make every table satisfied. We ordered the Opa Fries and Gyro Meat Platter as starters. The food meets our expectations. Garlic flavored fries is gone in a minute. The meat platter only has Gyro, but the chilaquiles are freshly made, warm, soft with garlic aroma. It goes well with Gyro and tomatoes slice. We ordered Berry crepes, which is bit too sweet for us, with extra chocolate cream filling. I did not see much berry as filing, but some kiwi cubics. Another breakfast dish is Opa! Gyro Hash & Eggs. Excessive potatoes rather than Gyro. Nothing expressive. We all likes the other two dishes - Fiery Feta flank steak and Greek Chilaquiles. Chilaquiles is socked into a type of greenish dressing, with sour cream on the plate and melted cheese, steak on skewer. The steak is topped with garlic flavored creamy sauce Fiery Feta. Delicious! Overall not quite brunch place, but I think the dinner menu and the classic seat could possibly bring us back again.

Food was good and flavorful - seasoned well, tender beef. Portions were on the smaller side but not super expensive either. They never refilled our waters, but there's a self serve cucumber infused water tower we used, not that big a deal, might have just been a busy day.

I would guess that the fact that the restaurant was 80% empty on a Friday night whilst everything around it was hopping is testimony to that. Service was ok. They brought our entries out while we were still eating our shared appetizer. Had to ask for a refill on my water. I was taken aback that our server was wearing a jacket with a logo on it from a construction or plumbing company rather than a more professional look. The food wasn't terrific. Our $26 misto frito was covered with blackened burnt bits, and the coating was very unevenly applied. Some things were clumped together and other pieces were completely uncovered. Unbattered calamari in a deep fryer turns to leather. My burger was dry beyond belief. I asked for a medium cook. My guest enjoyed his entree of a seafood flatbread. I think that for what we paid we'd have gotten a better meal elsewhere. I doubt I'll be back to this location.

Wow, this place used to be "the spot" in Willow Glen but I can see why this place has gone downhill. The food is actually good, but the service needs lots of work. I had the Greek salad $20. It was good. They gave 4 chicken pieces that were grilled with thousand island dressing. Chicken was somewhat tender, lettuce was crispy. The service. They kept asking my group whether they were done. You could clearly tell they were still eating. They did this 5x times. The waiter did apologize but he could tell my group was getting frustrated by it. Then water glasses were empty and I had to ask for water. The restaurant was empty during peak lunch hour. The bathrooms were clean. Inside is still classy. This place just needs some good customer service training to restore it to its glory days.

Tonight I ordered Grilled chicken breast marinated in lemon vinaigrette. It was supposed to be served over orzo with fresh herbs, and tossed in a lemon and honey yogurt sauce. I also ordered a bowl of Greek lemon soup. What I got was a half chicken. The breast was dry and leg and thigh pink at the bone. There was about a 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes and a forkful of greens. No Orzo. The soup was all broth with a floss of chicken. NO orzo in the soup either. It was my first time ordering from this restaurant. To call itself authentic Greek is ridiculous. Avgolemono is generally a thicker broth with pieces of chicken and orzo. This was NOT traditional Greek. If this is what Opa does to it's customers who order for delivery it's a travesty.
Be the first to ReplyI visited Opa! last week with some friends.
We made a reservation, but fortunately the restaurant wasn't too busy during the week. There were booths and tables available. As a group of four (with three vegetarians), we ordered the dip sampler (all the dips!) with extra pita, and then two flat breads - the roasted veggie and the greco Roman. The Greco Roman was my favorite - I was surprised when it came out cold because of the tzatziki, but it was really tasty. It was a bit pricy for the portion size so I don't think I would come back too often, but overall the food was good and it was a good group spot.
