Orchids was the best experience at a restaurant in a long time. The food was excelkent but the service was even better. It is a must if you sre in Waikiki. It has restored my faith that great SERVICE is still available in a restaurant. Thank you ORCHIDS.

Amazing! The food Delicious & mouth watering:; the atmosphere that’s relaxed yet elegant; location with the million dollar views; staff “5 star” and totally attentive with a personal flair This place is Exquisite!! A definite 5 star - everyone should go at least once. We enjoyed the Sunday Champagne Brunch
Be the first to ReplyElegant and creative island cuisine
Review for dinner experience. Traditional Hawaiian restaurant, with super experienced servers and creative cuisine building on island themes. The asparagus soup was delicious as was the coconut cake for dessert. Quiet and welcoming atmosphere in front of the ocean. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDependent on a great environment - average taste, poor service
On the returning day from Hawaii, I went there for breakfast with my husband for the first time. This is our first time Hawaii trip and so excited to visit Orchids breakfast. I made reservation via customer service at Halekulani where we stayed and changed date/time through their once, but received confirmation by text to my mobile phone. Upon arrival, one hostess at the reception kept talking to a man who looked regular customer, or her friend and we left unattended for many minutes. Then I talked to the other hostess, but she just looked at the tablet and said arrogantly “No reservations.” I showed my confirmation and the first hostess found ours and guided to a table by the beach. I was surprised that they never said sorry for us. In the restaurant, there was a wait who never smiled, and he poured coffee before I answered yes. We selected salmon eggs benedic and pancake with ricotta cheese/banana and had to wait 40+ minutes to start eating. The blue sky, pleasant breeze and blue sea were relaxing, but the taste was very average. An older Asian waiter was smiling and behaved professionally, though, overall, I don’t think their service was disappointed.

We have looked at having brunch here for a couple of years now and we pulled the trigger this time. We have dined at HWAK and Orchid before but this was something else to tick off the list. I booked ahead to ensure we could get a seat and we sat at 1000. Champagne and juice was refreshing. Australia has some sensational seafood so I was not really here for that but the shrimp was nice. Just being able to graze on everything at your own pace was sublime. I was feeling like I was at my end when the waiter suggested, "Just take a 15 minute break. Im sure there is more there you would like to try." I just watched the ocean for a while and then enjoyed some more food. Whatever your taste is there will be something on the menu
Be the first to ReplySo-so food and way over priced
The view was fabulous, service was impeccable, food was terrible! If you just want a great atmosphere this is the spot but if you expect great food this is not the place. Beet salad was mostly lettuce with a couple of beets underneath. Beef cheek was cold. Not a lot of great options. Make sure to check the menu before arriving to make sure there is something you’ll like. Not a place for anyone on Keto like my husband. Bread and butter was good thankfully! It’s what made me feel like I had a meal 🤪
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience unless / until you want to have separate bills
The restaurant is beautiful and has wonderful view of the sunset. We came for dinner so the Hawaiian music from the next door restaurant was unexpected but very pleasant addition to the ambiance. I really enjoyed the food experience as well: the portions were on a smaller side but given how flavourful the food was, it worked out perfectly. I would leave a 5 star review if it was not for the restaurant’s policy of one bill per table. Orchid has prices and service of a fine dining restaurant, it charged our table service fee of nearly $200 (8 ppl table) and yet we had to manually write down which couple had what food so we could get separate bills. The server was not happy with our request for a separate bills. Then the manager of the restaurant came to explain that the servers are very busy people so for restaurant’s convenience they enforce one bill per table. Alternatively, they can split the payment between four cards but the customer has to say how much to charge each card. Well, to know how much each card should be charged, you need to calculate the cost of food, split any shared items/ taxes/ service fee automatically calculated into the bill and restaurant refused to do that. It went as far we were suggested to pay as one bill and then split the bill ourselves on Splitwise!!!! After some back and forth, the manager agreed to split the bill if we write down what should be charged to each bill. Another 45 minutes later we were able to settle the bill and leave. The experience of the restaurant was great and I would come back again for a romantic dinner for two or a family dinner where dinner is the treat of one person. If you are going as a group where each party likes to take care of their own portion of the bill and/ or you are a person who is uncomfortable with owing money / collecting money from the group, this restaurant will certainly going to disappoint you with their service portion of the experience.

The brunch was spectacular. A little of everything …from Sushi to carving station to deserts….absolutely fabulous! Service was the best on the island. Mahalo!
Be the first to ReplyAn Amazing restaurant with great food and impeccable service in a beautiful setting.
Great food in a beautiful setting with impeccable old world service. The restaurant is absolutely top-notch and its 5 star rating more than well deserved. So much so, that we are going back again tonite.

Had breakfast here. Excellent service, nice menu and sufficient amount of food. We would have liked to also have dinner here, but never managed as we were only there for three nights.

The food here is absolutely amazing. The service was incredible, our server Daniel was so nice. The tomato soup is unreal, and everything we had was delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

one of the best meals we had, very accommodating staff and a magical sunset dinner .. attention to detail is unmatched.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous setting, reasonably priced, tasty breakfast
We made an Open Table reservation for breakfast since we were staying next door at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Hotel. A great decision! Given its beautiful ocean view setting, I expected a much higher priced breakfast. Good variety--savory and sweet options. Relaxing vibe, professional service.
Be the first to ReplyYou must try the Sunday Brunch
If you're dining at Orchids, you're not only paying for the food; you're paying for the ambiance and the spectacular service. It is such a beautiful place and the people are lovely. The Sunday brunch is spectacular - I cannot compare it to anything. It is nothing short of amazing. It's also pricey, but worth every penny. There are stations for everything - pastries, omelettes, prime rib, roasted pig, sashimi, sushi, crab legs, shrimp, it goes on and on. You must have reservations and you must go hungry. We had a regular breakfast there also. It was just a standard egg breakfast. It tasted good and the service was, of course, impeccable. The prices are over the top for a couple of fried eggs, but it should be expected at such a restaurant.

Awesome dinner! We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. Well worth the drive from our home in the North Shore. Reception staff were pleasant and efficient. They promptly showed us to our table after confirming our reservation. The restaurant has a great view of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean. Wait staff introduced himself, handed out menus and offered water. He gave us time to get settled in and go over the menu on this busy Thursday evening. Warm bread, butter, olives and olive oil & Balsamic were served while waiting for our cocktails. Starters were Hamachi and Goat Cheese Salad- fresh and delicious. Mains were beef cheek and lasagnette. Beef was tender and flavorful. The pasta and shrimp were fantastic. We finished our meal with coconut cake and ginger yogurt brulee. The restaurant has a nice selection of wines. Service was excellent. Staff were efficient, attentive and pleasant. The restaurant is located in Halekulani Hotel. Valet parking is free. An enjoyable evening.

A great last night dinner in a beautiful setting. Service was excellent. Enjoyed the steaks and salad. Wine list is good. Would go again.
Be the first to ReplyDinner Highly Recommended
After reading mixed reviews of La Mer, we decided to book a late dinner at Orchids. Excellent is an understatement. We selected a range of robust dishes and found them to be quite well balanced (not salty and I’m not a big salt person). We had the Beef Tartare, the Big Island Goat Cheese, Asparagus Piemontese, Short Rib Ravioli, Mushroom Risotto and Beef Cheek (72 hr sous vide), some sides and dessert (Coconut Chiffon Cake, ice-cream etc.). The Mai Tai/s were also lovely. My standout was the beef short rib, although everything was delicious including the complimentary bread. Hospitality was also fantastic. Polite, earnest, enthusiastic and when the server didn’t know something, they didn’t pretend. Beautiful location, perfect evening weather and topped off with a nightcap at the fantastic Lewers Lounge and knowledgeable and talented jazz musicians that are so good, it seems a crime that it’s free. We’ll be talking about this dinner for some time to come. Thank you, Chef (and all staff)! Will definitely be returning in the future. (Sorry, no pictures. It can’t be done justice in the low lighting.)
Be the first to ReplyMother's Day breakfast
Decided to take Mum to breakfast at Orchid's for Mother's Day. We weren't guests of the hotel but I was able to book a table on the open table app. Our table was located right at the front at the open doors against the grass and the view was very pretty. The service here is very high standard. The prices are high also but Mum's worth it. Although it was only breakfast, food was served quickly and was tasty. Very posh and beautiful restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyNice Lunch
I have to say I was a little disappointed in Orchids. I went for lunch, so maybe dinner is better. It is a beautiful place with a great view, but my lunch was underwhelming. Uninspired salad and the fish was over cooked.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful setting and upscale dining room, great evening!
Ambiance and location was top notch which includes dining near the beach. Service was very good. The risotto with foie gras was off the charts delicious. Expertly prepared and perfectly done. It’s a hearty dish but sooooo good! The highlight of the dinner. I also had Hawaiian sea bass or grouper and while it was very good it wasn’t delicious. My wife had the steak tartare to start that was amazing. All in all it made for a memorable evening.
Be the first to ReplySalty food destroyed the visit
The service, ambiance, and view of this location is outstanding but it was a shame that our visit on Sunday, April 24, was destroyed by food that was so salty, nobody should have to endure this. It all started with the crab that was dripping full of salt water. Crab does not come out of the ocean this way so it was in the preparation or processing that caused it to be this way. Then I tried the prime rib and again, this item was painfully salty. I ordered the asparagus soup which is not on the buffet but the waiter must get it from the kitchen. Once again, this item was unbearably salty. I sent an email to the Halekulani Hotel to report this issue but have never received a response. I really wanted to enjoy the best two items on the menu but when food is this bad, you just can't justify the price of being here unless it is strictly to enjoy the ambiance and location. I spent $200 for two people which included buffet and tip. It was not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing and not up to expectations for the prices
Disappointed after reading ratings on this beautifully located, on the beach restaurant in Waikiki beach. Good service very attentive but didn’t enjoy the food. My tuna starter was fairly tasteless and the fish main course was good but not special.
We were served the incorrect vegetable side dish.
$95 for a bottle of NZ Sauvignon was hard to stomach but was a good Cloudy Bay so maybe I shouldn’t complain.
A must visit for brunch or dinner for classic Hawaiian AlohA.
This is a must visit restaurant on Oahu. Their signature MaiTai is one of the best on the island. The service staff is professional and kind, the food is well prepared, fresh and memorable. It’s more seafood Italian fare these days with their pastas and bread freshly made and beautifully served. My favorite indulgence is their Halekulani coconut cake. If you only come for dessert and to watch the sunset over the ocean - it’s worth the visit. Their wine list is wonderful too. Enjoy the hospitality! Valet your car, their kind Hawaiian ways are a classic welcome to the stately hotel the restaurant resides in.
