Great service and great food as long as the cost doesn't scare you, a wonderful dining experience
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant with an amazing ocean view.
The dishes are spectacular but slightly overpriced for the portions they are giving out. Great service with respectful and professional wait staff. The price may be justified by the view and ambiance if you go right before the sunsets.
Be the first to ReplyBest place to have brunch and see the ocean.
Always great to eat there with such great service and fantastic ambiance.

This restaurant was by far one of our favorites on our recent Mar2024 trip to Waikiki. The view was outstanding, the restaurant decor was gorgeous, the service was excellent and the food was just delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant without hesitation and will be back on our next trip!
Be the first to ReplyThe food, service and scenery was epic.
My wife and I were in town celebrating a combination of birthdays and our anniversary.
Be the first to Replycame here for my aunties 70th birthday for breakfast.
food was amazing of course & they had many stations..lol i didn't know where to start!!i havent had an amazing buffet in a minute.was beautiful & perfect which my aunt enjoyed herself of course.the view was perfect.the service was amazing, they always checked up on us & it was just great.nothing bad to say but amazing!!!

The view, even though it was slightly overcast, was still beautiful. But ambiance is more than just a breathtaking view. As a kaima'aina, I did not feel the aloha spirit, from the staff that were at the food stations, to the servers. Perhaps it was because it was near the end of service for the brunch buffet and people were tired. I am trying to see both sides of the situation. We had a 1:30 reservation and when I inquired as to the length of the seating period, I was told that it was 2 hours. After a week, I received a call letting me know that the price for the brunch buffet was now $118.00 per person. The price had gone up because it now included 2 glasses of Prosecco per person. We don't really drink, but we had heard such good things about the Sunday Brunch, that we were willing to pay more, hoping that we could substitute a soda for the Prosecco. No such deal. You would need to pay for any other beverage. We were told at 2:30, that the food stations would be closing at 3:00. This was our last opportunity to make a plate before everything was shut down. Only one glass of Prosecco, no one ever came around with the second bottle and we had 1 hour and 30 minutes, instead of the 2 hours to partake in the brunch buffet. Why even offer a 1:30 reservation, if you know that all the food will be taken away at 3:00?
Be the first to ReplyI usually don't write reviews on Yelp especially because I
I usually don't write reviews on Yelp especially because I work in the restaurant/hospitality industry as well but after my experience here I felt compelled to write one. My family and I came here for a celebration for Sunday brunch which is known to be one of the best brunch buffets on the island. Before we had even got the restaurant they had notified us that brunch is no longer 80$ per person which we were originally quoted for and is now 110$ per person, because now every person gets two complimentary glasses of champagne. Very weird to force people to pay more for glasses of champagne considering we're not big drinkers but we accepted the new price change because we wanted to go for the experience. still. The ambience and scenery is beautiful and we were very excited to try this buffet being that we've tried several others before and supposedly this was the best one to go. For the buffet instead of grabbing food as you please there are employees who serve it to you which is normal now because of Covid but the employees working behind the food stations were not friendly and looked like they didn't want to be there from the sushi station to the ice cream station. Almost felt like we were bothering them by coming to there station, and I'd honestly say most of the staff there weren't very friendly at all. The food itself however was pretty good, can definitely tell the quality is better than other buffets but overall experience was underwhelming especially since your charging the 110$ per person plus no kamaiana discount or anything special for locals.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I went there for lunch.
The service and taste were excellent as well as the view. The vibe of the place was especially wonderful and we had a great time. We ordered the seafood curry with jasmine rice, which included fish, scallops, and shrimp. It was very filling, tender, juicy and delicious. The bread is served all you can eat. It's a lunch place to keep a secret!
Be the first to ReplyHigh quality service, great view, and the food was amazing.
A very classy establishment that, even though they were busy, made sure we were well taken care of and had a delicious, memorable experience. The sommelier helped a great deal with choosing the ideal wine!

I came here for a nice, fancy dinner, and might I say, the view of the sunset was something straight from a magazine. The atmosphere was gorgeous, and the decor and furnishing really elevated the space. The service was amazing. The waiters that served us were all delightful. They were respectful and super patient when we were deciding our orders. The food was honestly just alright considering the price. I got a mango mint mocktail which was super sweet and freshly squeezed. The starter bread was average, but the garlic ones were pretty good. For appetizers, we got the house salad and the hamachi. The salad was just a plain boring salad, but the hamachi was a light and delicate fish that was filled with flavor. For entrees, I got the short rib ravioli -- small portion size but packed with flavor and was surprisingly very filling. Honestly, the overall taste of the sauce on top of the ravioli wasn't my favorite, but the short rib was so tender and juicy that it brought up my rating for the dish. I also tried the keahole lobster tagliatelle -- not that great but eatable. The grilled scallops on the other hand were so delicious (I recommend!). And lastly, the Mediterranean branzino was just ok.For dessert, we got the tiramisu and their signature coconut cake which is a must-try for me. The cake was so light and not too sweet, a perfect end to your meal. The tiramisu had an unique presentation, but just tasted like a regular tiramisu.Great place if you are willing to spend a good amount of money on pretty good food and a beautiful view.

This was actually my first time even exploring the Halekulani property. For someone who has worked in Waikiki for yeears.. a bit shameful lol. I believe they only have valet parking that they validate, but we were in the area so we just walked right on in!Anyways. We had a reservation right at opening 11:30am. We were asked to wait for a few minutes until we were seating. The hostess was nice enough to let us choose where we wanted to sit. Even though it was a bit windy, we picked a table on the outer lanai, where we could see the ocean & the iconic keawe tree. Ahh - the life lol. I love how luxurious it felt, just being able to enjoy the quiet space. Our server came to greet us right away & we were set up with our drinks & our food order. We were also brought complimentary bread, along with some butter, olives, etc for the table. Throughout lunch, they were attentive to our drinks, making sure dishes were cleared appropriately, etc.During lunch, they offer a 2-course menu where you can choose a small appetizer & then your main. I decided to go for the beef tartare appetizer & homemade lasagnette with grilled shrimp. The beef tartare was delicious! The beef was mixed in with gorgonzola cheese & our server poured a green apple & celery juice around the dish tableside. It paired perfectly, and was so refreshing! The lasagnette was delicious as well - a light pasta in wine sauce with shrimp? yes please! While the flavor was amazing, I think my pasta sheets needed a bit more stirring in the wine sauce as some of the sheets were stuck together & not saucy.Just one downside is that there were a BUNCH of aggressive sparrows that kept flying around & trying to get into our food & bread. I kept thinking a sparrow was going to attack me lol. Looks like this is an ongoing problem since my friend's chair had some bird poop on the back of it. In any case I still enjoyed by lunch experience at Orchid's & one day I'll make it for their Sunday brunch!

A nice, sweet experience here but not "wow" enough to come back 'cause we consider it pretty pricey.1. The lobster salad is decent2. The Spagetti Botargar is not good, strong smell of raw crab3. But I definitely recommend the New York Strip. Perfecto!!Service is great. We had two desserts: the Brulee is not that tasty to me but the Tiramisu is so good. You must try. Our total order is 280$ for 3 persons.PARKING is validated.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic restaurant overlooking Waikiki beach.
Our server Jeff was attentive, and his recommendations were spot-on which brings me to the food. All three of our dinners were excellent, I had the squid ink pasta and it was delicious. To top off our evening, the Hawaiian music at their sister venue was a perfect addition to our evening.
Be the first to ReplyIf you have something to celebrate or willing to splurge
If you have something to celebrate or willing to splurge this is a definite place you must check out!I made a reservation online through OneTable and it does book up fast. Their brunch buffet is $105 with Prosecco. The servers were very attentive offering us more refreshments and clearing our plates. They maintain cleanliness with each buffet station having a server and the server putting your food on a plate and handing it to you.Certain menu items are kitchen only like the Benedict, waffle, and pancake but I would skip those they were nothing special. Some standout spots wereRamen: good flavor. Had toppings like chasu, kimchi, corn, bamboo shoots, green onions, etcPoke: had several different pokes as well as fish roe topping, seaweed, and pickled yellow radish takuan / danmuji Nigiri: fresh fish but I think the poke is better since you're in Hawaii. Nigiri had good fish to rice ratioMeats: Brisket, prime rib, turkey, ham to name a few. Suckling pig was just okay for me.Seafood: STELLAR! Juicy shrimp and crab. They have both cold seafood and hot seafood cooked in a garlic butter.Ice cream and dessert: so good with so many options.Definitely worth the $105 to try.

Fantastic food, preparation, presentation, location service, etcPrice to match ***** Loved it ocean side, with live island music!
Be the first to ReplyI was so amazed with the service and food selections.
The sushi was fresh and delicious. I love the spicy tuna hand roll and poke. The fresh clams and raw shrimp. I was so amazed by the quality of the food and kept going for seconds. As part of the brunch we got champagne and it was great. We went to celebrate my moms birthday and they gave her a delicious blueberry croissant. The serves were amazing and attentive. They were especially sweet to my toddler. Who was loving his juice, pancakes, and croissants. Honestly, this was the highlight of my trip. I can't wait to go back. FYI: 4-6 weeks in advance for reservations.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is absolutely amazing.
The service was incredible, our server Daniel was so nice. The tomato soup is unreal, and everything we had was delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
Be the first to ReplyHad birthday sparkling Sunday brunch, here.
Let's start with the good. The food station options and quality were fantastic. Succulent prime rib, suckling pig, brisket, excellent sake and maguro sashimi that glimmered with freshness, eggs benedict, crab, shrimp, pacific oysters, ramen, ice cream bar, dessert island with incredibly pillowy macarons.I've been to all of the best buffets in Vegas, Macau, and the InterContinental in Hong Kong. The food here did not disappoint. The server was average. Plates were cleared on time, but flatware only replaced for dessert. The ambiance was open and airy with a wonderful pianist who played everything from Bohemian Rhapsody to Broadway showtunes. The 3 stars comes from failure to meet expectations. There is a 2 glass prosecco limit per person. This small detail is nowhwere apparent on the website. The server only brought it up when I asked for a third glass. Why was this problematic to me.1. Don't represent a sparkling brunch if you are going to do it half assed. Just call it brunch.2. Management can give customers a bottomless option to pay more or customers can get their own bottle if the policy was clear.3. Some experienced waiters poured bottomless, so now you have customers feeling like 2nd class and wishing they were seated at another table. Clearly this is impossible to enforce. I watched one lady get 5 glasses and cursed my seating luck.4. Retail prosecco is $14. Are you really going to nickle and dime me on a $100 per person charge? I think if I can pay that, I am fine getting a bottle of real champagne for $80 if the restaurant was transparent.Bottom line. All the good about a restaurant experience is for nothing if a customer walks away feeling like expectations were not met and that the establishment is misleading/ not truthful about the experience. Loved the food. What could have been a 5 star rating for me is a 3 because this is not a Sparkling brunch. It is a good brunch with 2 glasses of comped prosecco and for a birthday or vacation this is amateur to me.
Be the first to ReplyHigh tea on 2/25/23 with my girlfriend.
Let me start with wow! Everything about this place screams impressive and beautiful!Even though, it does not face the ocean, the gorgeous courtyard will take your breath away! It gives you a feeling of being spoiled in a beautiful hotel's most exquisite space. There are only 6 tables which makes it even better, more intimate with superb personalized service. Also, quieter. The ambiance gives out this elegant and rich feel. Each table is adorned with white cloth cover, porcelain dishes, silverware, and fresh flower arrangement. You are handed a hard cover menu (not those paper printed ones) this again, adds to that elegant rich vibe that you are indeed dining in this fabulous fancy place. The basic tea set is $58 but for $10 more you get champagne and strawberries with cream. We opted for that. We started with a glass of bubbly and 2 fresh strawberries. They're the good kind and big (not those over ripe or bruised ones). Great selections of tea. It's so wonderful to be able to smell the different types of teas and this sure makes decision so much easier. Sometimes, you order a tea that sounds spectacular but end up with one that has an awful smell or disgusting taste. Definitely not an issue here! And let me tell you.....majority smelled really amazing that it was a battle choosing one. I ended up with the pineapple coconut and it was delicious and smelled phenomenal! My friend had the hibiscus and she loved it! I can't emphasize how elegant this place is! Then next came the array of goodies in a 2-tier tower with hand crafted patisserie artworks, assorted mini sandwiches, and grapes. Each sandwich were cut differently and each had its unique taste. The smoked salmon with lemon cream tasted fresh and light. It had a good amount of smokiness and most important no fishy taste. Then the chicken salad with madras curry and peanuts on multi whole grain bread. That was the best chicken curry sandwich I ever had. The curry was not over powering, the nuts added that perfect crunch and it just had the right ratio of chicken that's full of flavor. I felt, the strawberry and Brie with Poha jam on brioche bread should belong on the dessert plate because it seemed so delicate for a sandwich. The fresh strawberry was refreshing combine with a subtle sweetness from the jam and a hint of saltiness from the cheese. I could probably eat a dozen of em for breakfast. That was scrumptious! Lastly, the pastrami and watercress with grain mustard on poppy seed had a heavy punch for something so little, very filling! We didn't touch our dessert. They were like artwork, so pretty to eat. Did you see the swan?We had them to go and they were divine. The scones (we wished it was warm. They should place hot stone under to keep them warm. Waldorf Astoria in Vegas does this) we're served separately. The double Devonshire cream, lemon curd, and Kula strawberry jam came in cute little glass jar. The jam was not too thick nor too sweet. Perfect consistency with a delightful fresh strawberry taste-really good) Service was top notched! He was attentive in a perfect way without being too bothersome. It's like he knows exactly when to approach the table. He checked our tea half way and heated them because he knew they were getting cold. I was blown away! All the places I've been never did that and most of the time, the tea's kind of warm after 30-40 mins from sitting. Our to-go bag were also super cute. Lastly, they hand out bottled water at the valet while your waiting for your car. (It's valet only but free with validation.)
Be the first to ReplyWhatever you do, please skip this buffet.
It is incredibly overrated and overpriced for what you get. The variety of the buffet is seriously lacking for the $85 price per person. There's a seafood table, a sashimi / sushi table, salad, a ramen station, pastry / dessert, meat carving, and an omelette station. For context each station is small - roughly 3-4 items per station. Unfortunately each station did not taste good. Sure, there is seafood which included snow crab legs, oysters and shrimp - but unfortunately the snow crab legs were very wet inside and had a fishy taste. The oysters were fine and the shrimp was big - passable at best. The poke at the sashimi station was very lacklustre and the sashimi was also mediocre. The ramen station was laughable, the soup tasted like water. The meat carving - both the turkey and prime rib was incredibly dry it was almost like you could choke on it. The kalua pig was decent surprisingly. The salad and omelette station was alright but for this kind of buffet and the price, it's unfortunate that the salad and omelette station ends up being the most decent stations out of everything you're paying for. There was not one dessert that tasted remotely decent, it all tasted very artificial or like you could get it at the supermarket. The setup of this buffet is a huge problem. Totally understand that there's an emphasis on not having individual buffet goers serve themselves, but this creates huge long lines and doesn't let the buffet goers pick their own portions of the food. I will say though that the service is excellent - the servers and staff there were incredibly nice. I really wish the food was better for the price that they're charging, because the service was extremely high quality. Despite the excellent service, do not recommend this buffet since it's just not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance was great as the restaurant is located right
The ambiance was great as the restaurant is located right by the beach with great views of the ocean and diamond head. We went around sunset time and it was beautiful...One of the best patio dining experiences ever...Braised beef cheek was so tender and flavorful. Their signature coconut cake was so moist and coconutty... Will definitely be back when I visit Waikiki again.
Be the first to ReplyOrchids at the Halekulani Hotel has the best Sunday brunch
Orchids at the Halekulani Hotel has the best Sunday brunch buffet hands down! The facility itself is absolutely beautiful and well-cared for. Orchids has that lovely subtle modern look that includes an open air lanai with views of the Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. Orchids offers a huge selection to choose for their buffet brunch. They have stations for made-to-order omelets, sushi station, king crab legs and shrimp, salads, custom ramen bowl, carving table for prime rib, beef brisket, leg of leg, roasted pork and ham, breakfast pastries, and desserts. There is almost nothing that you can't find in this buffet offering, but you will find quickly that your eyes will be bigger than your stomach! All the food was absolutely delicious, well-prepared and presented. Service was very welcoming, friendly and first class. The wait staff was always there to pickup your plates and the tray that you brought your food to the table in a fairly prompt manner. They are also available to order and bring from the kitchen your eggs benedict, waffle/pancakes, and soups of the day that are not available at the buffet stations. They will pretty much accommodate your every need. Orchids is definitely well worth the visit and price for an enjoyable Sunday brunch buffet.

Took my mom here as a surprise because I came back home for 2 weeks since I go college on the mainland. She has done so much for me so I wanted to treat her to something amazing. Although it was expensive, seeing the smile on my moms face was priceless and I had no complaints on the food.
Be the first to ReplyLovely restaurant in the hotel.
Pretty pricey, but worth it. Live music was enjoyable but not too loud or distracting. We're from Texas but were super impressed by the meat quality. Obviously can't go wrong with the fish either being on the island. Can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Drinks are a bit overpriced. $15 for a virgin cocktail. But overall really wonderful time. Great for special occasions.
