Adolfo from Oren's Hummus at 125 Castro St Mountain View CA was so helpful and delightful in helping me with my order on 3/11/23. The good was excellent and his service was superb. Thanks.
Be the first to ReplyCreamy hummus.
Silky, luscious, fresh, with so many options for variations--veg and meat--you will be challenged to find something you DON'T like in their menu. Take out is especially good bc it travels so well as is just as good at home if you live within 20 miles!
Be the first to ReplyMagnificent food and stellar service.
Enjoyable either on-site or by takeaway. Definitely, worth the effort.
Be the first to ReplyI always love to have a meal at Oren's hummus.

OMG I didn't know how much I like hummus until I ate at Oren's :-) Seriously amazing! Sabra and Tribe, step aside. The Palo Alto location is more of a quick-stop place--my falafel sandwich came in a plastic basket with compostable single-use cutlery--perhaps this is because it's located in a shopping center near the high school? Conversely, the downtown Los Gatos location is a real sit-down restaurant--my hummus was served on a ceramic plate (!) at a table (!) with metal cutlery (!) in a relaxing, pretty setting. That said, Oren's makes incredible hummus. And falafel. And dips. And salad. Even my kiddo, who usually scoffs at hummus, likes it. I think I need to make a trip to the Los Gatos Oren's soon....or grab some to go from the Palo Alto location. How lucky to have two choices!
Be the first to ReplySuper reliable Mediterranean spot in downtown Palo Alto.
Came in here for lunch and very much enjoyed the chicken skewers with hummus and a little cucumber salad. Service was pleasant and extremely fast and, unlike other Oren's, this place has a viable dine in ambience, which makes it feel like an actual restaurant versus other locations that have more of a fast casual feel.My colleagues had falafel's and the vegetarian platter, which all got high praise. Overall a great experience.

We visited Oren's Hummus while we were in Palo Alto for the day. We've heard a lot of great things about the place and it wasn't crazy busy during Sunday lunch as Sweet Maple and Verve Coffee seemed to take the brunt of the Sunday brunch rush. For starter's, we started with the Classic Hummus. It's a heaping portion of their hummus and it's vastly different than the Sabra Hummus that you're used to overpaying for at the store. It comes with two pieces of soft, steamed pita bread as well. However, the bread to dip to ratio is off! Unless you're saving the hummus for another part of your meal, you're going to have to order extra pita bread to eat more of the hummus (or you'd have to eat heaping amounts of it with every bite for the hummus to be gone at the same rate as your bread). We ended up getting two or three more pieces of hummus for a total of four or five pieces to finally polish off the entire hummus platter. FYI -- there is white, wheat, and gluten-free pita bread available.Everyone around us went with the "brunch" route with plates of shakshuka covering each table, but we opted for some pieces of falafel, a side of sweet potato fries, fresh fries, and a rice bowl with chicken.Rice bowl with chicken was great! If you're eyeing the skewers, but thinking about getting rice or hummus as your side, you might be better off getting the rice bowl and saving some of your hummus appetizer. The Rice Bowl is simple, comes with a small cup of tahini sauce, and is very flavorful. The sweet potato fries are also incredible! It comes with this red pepper mayo that was SO good and the fries are seasoned very well. A good option to have if you're not too keen on the other menu items.Disappointments: The french fries and the falafel. The falafel was a bit dry for our liking and the french fries were actually just steak fries with zero seasoning. The french fries were also undercooked--probably a product of them being so large and thick. They were just a bit too starchy with no added seasoning or flavor profile to them. I'd stay away from those.Other than that, the service was accommodating--overall a great experience!

Great food here-- nothing out of this world but it's a consistently good choice if you're wandering around downtown Palo Alto. Seating outside during the summer is great, seating inside gets pretty cramped and crowded so wouldn't recommend that too highly

Used them also for our wedding. Prices are a bit high. Staff are nice and helpful

Giant portions of oily hummus and oily meat sounds amazing, but doesn't feel so great.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely poor and rude customer service.
Maybe mine was an isolated experience based on other reviews but nonetheless. We asked for a table outside and were added to the waitlist. We were number one on the list.5 minutes later a table empties out, two new people arrive and they are seated ahead of us. I am standing there and the person who put us on the wait list notices me too. But that does not matter. He goes ahead and sets the table for the new guests.
Be the first to ReplyQuite the hotspot for the weekend.
Firstly if you don't want to end literally being squeezed elbow to elbow with your neighbor don't come here on the weekend. We scored a table on a very packed night, the service was speedy and gracious. Pretty much all the hummus on the menu is homemade, warm, and delicious. The Moroccan carrots were a highlight for me as they were just as flavorful that I could've gone for a second round. I don't eat meat but there is plenty of veggies on the. menu to tide one over. I'd like to plan to come back here again in the future, just on a weekday when it's not so busy.
Be the first to ReplyI loved coming here.
This was as good as the one in San Francisco. What I love is that they have gluten free pita bread, a bit pricey, but very much worth it. My husband and I arrived quite late and we were seated. The people working there were quite nice and I ordered the lamb with the hummus and my husband ordered something else - falafel and a collection of dips. We left and were quite full. I love knowing that if there is absolutely nothing to eat, if an Oren's Hummus is around, I can eat well and be happy.
Be the first to ReplyI love the fresh pitas and the creamy hummus.
I have been here many times. The service is fast even when it is busy. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

I can't believe I have not written a review for Oren's! I have been coming here for years after my husband brought this home for dinner one night.I absolutely love this place. You really can't go wrong on anything you order here. I have tried almost all of their menu and a few of my favorites are their Hummus, chicken skewers, Tabouli, Marinated Beets, Babaganoush, and of course their pita bread! Lots of options for both vegetarians and meat lovers.Service is always quick, friendly, and the portions are a great value. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the mood for quality mediterranean food. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Came here on a Sunday night - this place is definitely more upscale than the location in Mountain View - I really enjoyed coming here and eating. Good:Fast service - we got all of our dishes pretty quickly. I really liked a couple of the items in the sampler appetizer dish since it was a wide variety - my favorites were probably the yogurt and the babaganoush. I also liked my hummus chicken though it was a large portion so I couldn't finish. I liked the shakshouka but I think I prefer the green one over the regular one since it has more flavor. Bad:There's not enough bread for all the sampler dishes! I wish we got more. I wasn't that big of a fan of the turkey sausage in the shakshouka. Overall enjoyed my time here and it was pretty classic Oren's Hummus but a nicer dining experience inside.
Be the first to ReplyWe tried the Sabich hummus today .
... It has no flavor except for eggplant pieces on top .Not worth the price .

I love their hummus! Some of the other items on the menu seem a bit over hyped.
Be the first to ReplyBest hummus I've had.
So creamy and smooth, and the extra veggies pair so well. Didn't think pita+hummus could be a meal, but this was amazing! The pita was super fluffy as well. The boureka was perfectly flaky on the outside and mochi-like on the inside. Great service as well. Didn't have to wait at all for an early weekend dinner.
Be the first to ReplyIndoor eating area is tight but nicely decorated.
Service is slow, it took about 10mnts until someone come to get our order and 15mnts wait to get served. (And it wasn't that busy).Hummus with beef was ok, beef kabob wasn't the best I had, falafel was dissapointing, salad and warm pitas was good. Portions are not so big and price was high.
Be the first to ReplyI saw this restaurant everywhere.
but never tried it before. I decided to try it this weekend. I ordered traditional hummus with pita. it's good just a little salty to my personal taste. I will com back again
Be the first to ReplyAre you a hummus lover? I am.
It's the quintessential Middle Eastern dip made by blending chickpeas with tahini, garlic, and citrus. Very delicious and fresh. This place is one of the top 5 hummus spots in the Bay Area, in my opinion. I truly believe in helping our local business thrive by giving my honest opinion on the experience. My opinions are based on an average guideline according to taste, smell, presentation, and quality. Along with that, I include cleanliness and friendliness as a bonus. The restaurant is on the busy street of University Ave. in Palo Alto. Parking is going to be tough at peak weekend time. I came here on a Wednesday so I found parking immediately. Outdoor dining is an option. I sat inside. Staff here is nice. Food came out on time. So far so good. The consistency may differ on location. The Cupertino location taste a slight better. That is also my personal opinion.I ordered the Beef Kabab. I judge an entree by how much spice they put on kebabs. Some places put way too much if you know what I mean. The pita here is super fresh and they make it there on site. Tasty!Overall, Oren's Hummus is easily a top 5 here in the Bay Area when it comes to Middle Eastern lunch. Will I come back? Heck yes.
