Instead of Oseyo, it should be GA-SEYYO.
All the banchan and main dishes were overly salty and the service was slow. I wouldn't recommend this place to Koreans that are used to Korean restaurants. I think we as Koreans all have set expectations on when it comes to the saltiness and the timelines of the food being ready and this place was way off. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe the restaurant was just having a bad day, but it wasn't just one dish that was very salty, it was everything! We ordered 4 main dishes. I mean no disrespect to the owners but people, please, this is not what Korean food is supposed to taste like! I feel uneasy that non-Koreans are coming to eat here and think this is what Korean food is suppose to taste like. It's not!

I was pretty disappointed with Oseyo after seeing it all over social media. I think it is over priced Korean food with watered down flavors. There are so many other authentic Korean places with flavors that actually pack a punch in the Austin area. Parking is pretty limited in their lot. The lighting and service was good but the music made it feel like a club instead of a weekday dinner.

We had a reservation set for 7pm and our food did not come until 8:30. It just really sucked having to wait that long. Also a dish came out with egg when we informed them we of an egg allergy which made the food take even longer. Didn't expect this kind of experience from a restaurant that makes their food so expensive? The hot bibimbap was 4 dollars more expensive than the cold but it was a smaller portion? A lot of concerning choices here. Birthday ruined.
Be the first to Replythere was an attempt to make it a fine dining experience.
for me it lacked value as lot of menus felt expensive than creative. don't get me wrong it was very delicious.

The atmosphere was very dark and cozy and the server was very attentive! What I'm disappointed in is the food and how long it took for the food to come out. Bossam: very delicious fried! Bibimbap: the rice was mushy at the top and overcooked at the bottom. It wasn't well seasoned, so it tasted a little bland with just the gochujang sauce. Jajangmyeon: the serving size of this dish can feed up to 3 people! It was really salty. Jajangmyeons I've tried is a little sweet and salty, but this was too salty for me that I couldn't finish it. Kimchi Jigae: It was delicious, but this dish was salty as well.
Be the first to ReplyOseyo is an upscale Korean restaurant in downtown Austin.
We came here for dinner during a bachelorette weekend. I highly recommend making a reservation especially if you're a large party. The menu had traditional Korean dishes but some with a fusion twist. It's best to go family style with their dishes. Out of everything we tried the tong dak (fried chicken) was my favorite. The breading was thick and crispy and tossed in a sweet and spicy marinade. The rest of the dishes we ordered were okay. The jjajangmyeon was a bit bland and there were more vegetables than actual noodles. While the ambiance of this place is very hip and modern, I much prefer the familiar and comfortable feeling of a traditional Korean restaurant.

Everything we tried was fantastic and the service and ambiance was delightful. Definitely wish we could have spent more time here, such a great place to relax and meet with friends
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite restaurant to bring people from out of town.
l love everything about this restaurant. Immaculate vibes, the servers are always helpful when ordering and the food is just absolutely amazing. I've never had a dish I didn't like here. Highly suggest getting the fried rice it is sooo good.
Be the first to ReplyOseyo definitely caught me by surprise.
A friend came across this Korean inspired restaurant, frankly we were on edge about whether or not this would be a good try! Took a chance & came in for a midweek dinner. Firstly, I was truly impressed by how many options I had as a vegetarian! The apps were really good! We tried a variety of dishes including silken tofu, Gun Mandu, Ddukkbokki! All three were well curated! For mains we tried the dolsot bibimbap, japchae & beoseot! Each dish was different than the next which made it a wholesome experience. Our server was extremely helpful in helping us out with any questions we had about the menu, his recommendations were also very good! The place itself is very aesthetic & would definitely be a great date night spot! One very small area of improvement I can think of, I would urge the join to maybe up their spice level just a bit! It will surely take their dishes to the next level.

The ambiance of this place makes you feel like you're sitting in your dining room enjoying a nice meal with friends! Very homey and comforting. The decor is traditional. Maybe I just came on a very busy day, but the wait was long for food, which was not as well seasoned as I had hoped for. Also, very expensive that I do not believe it was worth. The vision of this place is very well thought of, but maybe not entirely well executed
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good.
Not worth the hype and certainly not worth the sky high prices. I do realize that it's difficult in ATX for restaurants due to the extremely high cost of rent. That being said, I can eat Korean food and have a drink somewhere else at a much more reasonable price.

Finally got to visit Oseyo! Got two seats at the bar at 6:30pm on Friday night. The food was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back.
Be the first to ReplyOH MY GOD.
Some of the best Asian food in Austin. I came here for my birthday with my family and we ordered a bunch of different things and seriously loved every item. The Korean fried chicken is to die for!! Everyone was also so nice and offered lots of suggestions. Drinks are pretty pricey but also very delicious. I am wanting to check out the happy hour soon!
Be the first to ReplyKorean-American food that you won't forget.
Went with a group of ladies and it was the perfect place to share family style. Cocktails and sake are spot on and the food is even better. So many dishes to recommend- Dumplings: get both the Jjin Mandu (steamed meat dumplings) and the Gun Mandu (mushroom and vegetable dumpling- these were awesome) Dwaeji Kalbi: sweet and sour sticky ribs (fricken fantastic) Dolsot Bibimbap: hot stone pot bibimbap with bulgogi (perfect, all the flavors, get it) Wood Grill Bulgogi: make it a lettuce wrap with some toppings Japchae: sweet potato glass noodles with chicken (you won't regret it) Black Sesame ice cream: if you haven't had it, get it. Awesome meal. Can't wait to come back.
Be the first to ReplyIt's possibly the worst Korean restaurant I've ever been to.
I took my mom to try it as well, The soup had no broth when it typically has broth and tasted so off. It's the most unauthentic Korean food I've ever had, and only gets rave reviews for its interior/exterior design. Go to Honey Pig or Janchi or HMart instead for real, delicious Korean food,
Be the first to ReplyOur server was amazing.
She was very attentive. The food was just okay. We ordered kimchi bokkeumbap, kimchi jjigae, tteokbokki and bibimbap. The only thing that was close to authentic was the bibimbap. I wasn't expecting perfectly authentic but close enough. The flavors were off on all the other dishes. We really liked the decor and felt it was quaint.
Be the first to ReplyIt's difficult to get the comfort of a Korean kitchen
It's difficult to get the comfort of a Korean kitchen within a delivery order, so take this review with a grain of salt. The japchae was a bit oily and had an overpowering amount of vegetables, the tteokbooki presented well but lacked spice, and the kimchi fried rice was good, but personally I'm not a fan of large vegetables in my rice. Cheers
Be the first to ReplyIt's nice to have a Korean restaurant in central Austin.
We were lucky to arrive in time for Happy Hour and proceeded to order: - Aged Soy Old Fashioned - this drink sounded so unique, I had to try it. I was pleasantly surprised at the savory and sweet balance. - Ojingeochae - i've only had dried squid as a supermarket snack. I've never had it fresh from a restaurant and this was great! - KFC Cauliflower - this is a great appetizer to kick off the meal! The flavors were fantastic on the cauliflower, perfectly breaded and fried, and the pickles that it came with, were amazing! - Kalbi - the beef short rib was perfectly seasoned. It could have been (temperature) hotter. It was served on a sizzling platter, but tasted room temperature the banchan that it came with was a nice touch. My favorite was the seaweed salad, I could have ordered an entire bowl of that. Overall, Oseyo is a great addition to East Austin. We'll be back to try more!

As a Korean-American, I'm always on the hunt for good Korean food :)The food is decent but the staff here is what makes the restaurant stand out!If you like spice like me, disregard where they say "spicy" on the menu. I literally asked for the spiciest sauce they had on the side and was brought out Serrano peppers in chili oil.The dumplings were unfortunately pretty dry but the kimchi fried rice was pretty good. Add some gochujang or chili oil and it'll hit the spot.Great cocktail menu and overall ambience!

Had a lovely dinner here with great food, hip ambience, and helpful service. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Even the banchan was gorgeous! Yellow tea - unique toasted flavor that I really enjoyed dbukkoki - chewy rice cakes and not over-saucedGun Mandu - only dish I would not recommend. Dumplings were too crispy and lacked flavorDolsot bibimbap - very fresh ingredients Japchae - loaded with fresh vegetables and well-seasoned Pork belly - the waiter overheard that some members of our party were vegetarian and others were not and recommended we order a side of pork belly. So glad we did! The pork belly was so juicy, fatty, and crispy.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and killer cocktails.
Stylish and friendly staff. Kimchi is out of this world.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and ambiance.
Very nice staff and service. The food was good but did not stand out to me as something extremely special. We were informed that was Korean - Mexican fusion but I didn't quite grasp that. The entrees did not quite stand out. Lastly parking is a bit difficult. I'll give it another try

Food was fairly good, but a bit overpriced with small portions. I was expecting a whole chicken for tongdak as that is the definition of tong dak obit it was four slices of thigh meat in a sweet and slightly spicy sauce. The tteokbokki was cooked well but the sauce was tangy and not sweet at all. They charge $4 extra for fish cakes and another $4 for egg, these should be included in my opinion. It's not tteokbokki without it. Ambiance is a cool, hip vibe, good for young people. Service was good. Took my family here on vacation and my middle school boys will need to eat a second dinner for sure!

Wow. Oseyo is really so so good!! We started with 2 different types of dumplings which were delicious! Since we had a big group we had our waitress just pick a few entrees for us to share and surprise us. We got a chicken dish, beef dish, noodle dish and rice dish. All of it was seriously SO good. I'd absolutely go back in a heart beat it was amazing!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyNice environment, solid food, and great drinks.
Tried many things on the menu as part of a large group meal. I think the starters were my favorite part of the meal (vs the large protein entrees).
