Paladar 511 New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year
This is such a cool and unique spot outside of the hustle
This is such a cool and unique spot outside of the hustle and bustle. I loved the industrial style coupled with sort of a boho chic and Italian inspired vibe. Very eclectic but homey feel. My egg and pork biscuit with a side of avocado and bacon was amazing! And the espresso martini a lovely pairing. The staff was fantastic and snuck me a sweet bday surprise dessert. Thank you, Quinn, for excellent service.
Beautiful space and delicious food.
Consider making a reservation as they fill up pretty quick.
We weren't expecting to be blown away by an Italian
We weren't expecting to be blown away by an Italian restaurant while in NOLA but that's exactly what happened after visiting Paladar 511. First off, the space is gorgeous... and cavernous and industrial chic. Not at all what we are used to in the Crescent City. Well-dressed, sophisticated crowd. It's in the Marigny district, which is quiet and feels super residential - honestly it was a welcomed break from the chaos that is the French Quarter. Secondly, the food is just..... phenomenal. The husband and I shared two starters - the roasted carrots and the squid ink spaghetti. The roasted carrots were whole heirloom carrots tossed with walnuts and a whipped goat cheese. The squid ink spaghetti was tossed with gulf shrimp. We didn't think the meal would get any better after these starters but somehow it did. For entrees, we settled on the Quattro formaggi pizza and the pappardelle pasta to share. Both were outstanding, but it was the pizza that really blew us away. Perfectly seasoned, lightly garlicky, crispy, cheesy - it might've been some of the best pizza I've ever had. We didn't expect to finish everything but we absolutely did. Husband opted for the gin-based Poolside cocktail, while I enjoyed a couple glasses of Tempranillo that paired perfectly with the savory cuisine on hand. Service was friendly and efficient. We walked out pleasantly full and thinking we might've just had our best meal in NOLA. Laissez le bontemps rouler at Paladar 511, yawl.
It's a must while in New Orleans - the desserts are to die
It's a must while in New Orleans - the desserts are to die for. I miss the chocolate Budino (it's actually what brought me back on this trip) wish it was a mainstay - the atmosphere is so chic and the staff is beyond amazing.
Wonderful place.
This was recommended by a local. The squid ink spaghetti was amazing. Just the right amount of heat and crunch along with the fresh shrimp.
I can't believe this will be the first review I have left
I can't believe this will be the first review I have left for Paladar.! I've eaten here like three times this year alone and even more last. One thing I can always depend on when I dine here is to have a great meal. My go to has always been the crudo or the squid ink spaghetti to start and the snapper as my main. It's nice because although I always go for the snapper, I never get the same entree twice. The vegetable and grains change seasonally which is lovely. Service is pleasant and so is the ambiance. I appreciate the warm lighting after staring into computer monitors every week. I can go on, but you get the jiist. Will return soon.
The squid ink pasta will change your life, one of the best
The squid ink pasta will change your life, one of the best apps I've ever had. Service was great. Ambiance is fine, little loud in there, but not terrible. Pizza was good, we had the lamb one. Wife had the pappardelle, delicious. I had the pork saltimbocca - slightly on the salty side but good. Definitely recommend coming here, we will be back.
The crew is so amazing and food is always great! Love the
The crew is so amazing and food is always great! Love the paladar Krewe!! Booth 2 crew!
Great Atmosphere and Food
Made a reservation for 5:30 and was seated right away. We sat upstairs and had a great view of the restaurant. The ambiance was excellent. We ordered the Brioche, Squid Ink Pasta, and the Pizza with Lamb and Merguez.
I took my mom here for her birthday.
I've heard nothing but great things and we were both impressed! We had split an appetizer, had two cocktails and each had an entree and it was very reasonably priced. Our res was at a peak time Saturday night and the staff handled it very well. I highly recommend the bread service! While it was busy, it wasn't overly loud. I cannot wait to go back!
We made a reservation for 5:30, right when they opened for
We made a reservation for 5:30, right when they opened for a family of five, which included our 16 month old. To our disappointment, we were not able to use one of their only two high chairs (which we were not aware we needed to reserve in advance). We decided to have our 16 month old eat sitting in his stroller... but were told there were not many locations to sit where the stroller would not be blocking the walk way. After two different table options, and 37 nasty stares from the staff, we decided to make do. I will say the food was fabulous. We had the beef carpaccio, margarita pizza with sausage, and the pappardelle pasta. My in-:laws had the gnocchi and the waygu flat iron steak. The wine list was a different story: it was a little on the odd side.... It felt like hipsters trying a little too hard to be "original." Everything was very tasty and my 16 month old especially loved the pizza.... However, again, we did not feel welcome or wanted there. So, if you like hipsters, hate kids, and enjoy a weird wine list - this is the place for you. Enjoy!
Great food in a smart atmosphere
What a great find in the Marigny neighborhood! We walked here from our hotel, took a peek at the Mississippi, then dove into Palador’s intriguing menu. Our group opted for various starters for the table and then shared the fresh mushroom pizza. Cocktail and wine selections were nice but limited (when choices are good, limited options are smart.) Our favorites on the menu were the charred broccolini and roasted carrots with interesting toppings. Lively atmosphere with great service in an up and coming neighborhood. We loved it!
Great Restaurant off Frenchman
Amazing ambiance! Our service was fantastic start to finish from the hostess to our waitress Natalie and the food did not disappoint! We had the Tuna Crudo which was amazing!!!!! We then tried the Ensalata Tres Colors which is a Cesar salad with real anchovies, my love devoured it but it wasn’t for me… lol we finished with the beef Waygu which was out of this world!!! Great trying this place would highly recommend!!!
awesome service and food - favorite
loved my fish and the margarita - also my dad loved the meat and his wine - mum felt parmesan crusted porc was a little salty. Service was truly great and felt quite
No Food Makes up for Rudeness
We walked from Frenchman street to try this restaurant bc it came so highly recommended by a chef we met. This was the only place in NOLA where I experienced rude service. Firstly, we made the egregious error of showing up FIVE MINUTES before they officially opened, and the manager made us wait on the street outside when it was 35° that night! We had come in and moved to stand by the stairs bc we were freezing, but were told we had to leave. Let me be clear, we were not drunk, in costume or making demands. I asked we might wait since it was only 5 minutes. No. Literally felt like I was in NYC vs. friendly New Orleans. We came back and ate and were treated no better by bar and wait staff. No description of the entrees or asking about our interests. There is just too much good food in NOLA to bother with places like this. Get over yourselves and know your competition has great food and incredible hospitality.
6 of us had a great meal and would come back
Six of us came for dinner. Great ambiance and vibe. We shared dishes including starters and mains...great food and pizzas...would come back again
Holy Cow Was That Great
Holy cow what great food! Visited for Sat brunch. From the coffee to the sublime lemon ricotta pancakes everything was an A+. I don’t usual rave about “breakfast” but this went above and beyond. Highly recommend! My wife’s breakfast sandwich with a side of avocado was excellent. The accompanying potatoes: outstanding. My farm egg spicy pizza was off the chart. Even the generous portion of a side of bacon was exemplary both in size and flavor. Morning cocktails were well made. Service was attentive. One hint: you can order just one pancake if you want to try (and you should) without doing a full portion. They only serve their brunch menu on Sat and Sun. I have to believe — given the quality of the meal I experienced— that dinner won’t disappoint. In the Marigny…easy five minute walk from south end of the French Quarter. I heard it can get busy so make a reservation. Go.
Fun and Tasty!
A fun atmosphere, very tasty good and great service. We will recommend this restaurant for friends visiting New Orleans. We enjoyed everything we tasted. Fairly priced.
3.5 A good option near Frenchman's.
The squid ink spaghetti with shrimp in a arrabiata sauce starter was very good, as was the challah garlic rolls. But I wish I had remembered that they had a chocolate Budino for dessert as I would have swapped out the rolls for it. I had a nice Lambrusco and aperitif spritz. The ambience was ok: nothing special. Pleasant on task wait staff but they looked like a hot mess.
Nice supper spot close to Frenchman St
Large dining hall seats a lot. Fairly busy for a Monday eve, but we made reservations just in case. Staff were courteous and prompt with everything. We split an appetizer, had a main and a dessert. Orders came out quick and hot and very tasty.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
