Of course, as with all Starr restaurants, the ambiance and lighting is fantastic. It is certainly reminiscent of a French bistro and Le Dip (if not a bit of a caricature, but that's to be expected) and an excellent date spot because of it. The

Pastis was good! I would've gave them a 5 star rating but I didn't really like the potatoes and the music was a little too loud for you to have a conversation without it sounding like you were yelling. The inside is nicely set up and I love
Finally had the chance to try Pastis for dinner.
It wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night. I loved the intimate, dimly lit atmosphere. Our party of two shared a Caesar Salad and Calamari--both were excellent, with the Caesar being a standout. I ordered the Moules Frites, and the flavorful brot

In other words you get great French style food, great service, and a nice ambiance! The burger, steak frites, and scallop oysters are my solid staples and faves there! Those shoe string fries are addicting! they also have different specials on differ

After leaving Pastis, I considered the possibility that I enjoyed it even more than Le Diplomate. Both are owned by the STARR group, so it is no surprise they share the same strengths: high quality ingredients, attentive and efficient staff, beautifu

Couldnt find anything appetizing at the Union Market so decided to pay Pastis a visit. First time at the DC location, visited the one in NYC in the past. Steak frites was great. Food was fresh and service was attentive for DC standard.

So disappointed to say this location has NOTHING on the NYC original. We went tonight and had awful service, the steak was chewy and undercooked, and the wine (@ $24/ glass) was terrible. When 1 of these things is off, fine ... all 3 ruins the night.

I live right down the street, so have been to Pastis on many occasions - dates at the bar, dinner with friends, brunch (the French toast and crepe are my go-tos, amazing ), and take-out. Every time it's been a great experience. The atmosphere is
Tastiness and Service with a Smile
What a lovely experience! A friend of ours recommended Pastis and we were very pleased with the food and the service. The Scallops Crudo was a delicious appetizer and the Branzino was a first rate main. Dessert was especially delightful--Vacherin--a
Excellent bistro food with well chosen wines.
This is an excellent bistro with friendly, attentive service. There are many classic French dishes and an excellent mix of well selected wines from different parts of France. All parts of our meal were tasty albeit a bit heavy for two of the entrees.
Overpriced and Underwhelming
Almost $200 for lunch for three people with no alcohol, just one appetizer, and no dessert. Food was disappointing. Not bad, just average for a big city restaurant. Room was nice but tables are close together and the restaurant can get loud. Service
Very disappointing experience!
Disppointing! We were at Pastis for lunch whatever we ordered was not brought correctly. I asked for oil and vinegar for my salad and the waiter decided to bring me the salad with no dressing. We asked to share a filet au poivre and did not bring an
Great food and atmosphere.
9 of us ate here on a Wednesday night. The atmosphere was very French Bistro. The food was excellent as was the service. My salmon was well cooked and nicely presented. Others said that the food was delicious. Great desserts. Extensive wine menu.
Onion soup and chocolate mousse to die for
Absolutely delicious food and adorable atmosphere. The onion soup was phenomenal. The duck confit was very good and the chocolate mousse was one of the best I have ever had. I will not go to other French restaurants in DC as this one blew the rest o
Ambiance vivant
This is a new destination for DC foodies: beloved “bistro favorite française” that has been known in NYC as an attraction for a chic crowd. The Bar offers a selection of “by the Glass” delicious French Wines, including Chablis and Muscadet,
Great Ambience
Our friends highly recommended this place, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived 7 minutes early, but there was no ample waiting area inside, and it was too humid to wait outside. The service was good, though we noticed that our table had been a
A great place!
July 18, 2024. Had a delightful dinner with a couple of girlfriends. The French bisto ambience, the fabulous cocktails, food and our charming, actually French, waitress Adele was perfect!

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Pastis DC Washington at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Pastis DC Washington page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Pastis DC Washington to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Pastis DC Washington!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
