First time trying this restaurant.
It's Mother's Day and normally I like the glitz and glamour but today I just wanted good food and a nice atmosphere. Pearl Dive brought the ambience, food and exceptional service. Anna the host was welcoming and accommodating. Aurie was our server, she was very attentive to our food allergies, and provided excellent referrals on options available at the restaurant. Today they have gained a customer for life. I will definitely tell friends and coworkers about this establishment. If you like oysters, good seafood, good music, and excellent service. This is your place..
Be the first to ReplyFood great so far.
..music awful-random country with a very grainy speaker-ruining the atmosphere. Wish it was jazz, house music or anything else.

I have done hard things but cutting through this latke may have been the hardest - I feel like being able to order seafood beyond smoked salmon at a brunch is actually a sign you've not only had your frontal lobe fully developed but you're in the top 10% GDP - pearl dive has a great aesthetic, feels like it just dropped in from cape cod. also in Massachusetts fashion the service was pretty tough....waiter messed up an order and we waited quite awhile for our food despite the place being 50% empty during a Sunday brunch - the latkes despite being tough to cut were super yummy. definitely showed a lack of Jewish heritage as they were not very flakey or soft but as a potato patty I loved it. - the salmon was somehow almost sweet, perhaps a maple smoked, so incredible. loved the grated egg on the lightly dressed salad to add a perfect touch to each bite - this seems like a good place for drinks and dinner, but the brunch options for under $20 (even ignoring the eventual tax and tip) were .... dismal.

Food is always great, although we were sad to see that they have taken the seafood tower off of the menu.

Came here to try out this seafood place and was excited looking at the menu they had a great selection. We tried oysters, mussels, fish and the daily specials. However for the crab dish one of us in the party was pescatarian and the server mentioned it was a vegetable succotash side however when it came, there was bacon bits, and they simply just brought out another plate of string beans to rectify the issue vs swapping it out, ended up not eating that plate.

Excellent service from Wayne the Bruce! I had the grilled oysters and they were perfect. My date had the seafood gumbo which she Sai was better than we have had in Charleston. The caesar salad was magnificent.
Be the first to ReplyGo during their happy hour.
You may have to wait for a bit because happy hour is only at the bar but it's worth it. There were some people standing out in the patio area that were able to order food so if you dont mind not sitting, this could be an option. The Oysters were fresh tasting and cleaned pretty well. The Sweet Jesus ones were byfar my favorite. The pre-detach the meat so you dont need to do it yourself. The mussels came in a huge serving with lots of crispy bread. Eat the mussels first as they do get cold if theyre not directly in the broth. The broth was flavorful with a little bit of heat. Lastly, we got the house spiced chips which were alright, they were decent kettle chips but I thought they didnt go well with the tarter sauce.

This review is for happy hour: Got the oysters- decent but not super flavorful Fried andouille- really good with a nice side of mustard Fish bites- loved these! If I had more time I would have gotten a few more orders of these. Prices are pretty good for a happy hour! I do wish there was maybe one more of the andouille and the fish bites just because splitting 3 pieces is tricky for sharing. Would also want to come back for dinner to get the full menu experience.
Be the first to ReplyYou're in for a treat when you come here.
Expect to be treated very well and courteously by all the staff. The ambience is exactly what you would expect of a quaint little oyster bar. Put simply, you'll feel like a classy swashbuckler in this place. Last, but not least, the food is perfect. And they have great deals regularly. You will get the bang for your buck at this small, but mighty oyster palace!

My daughter took me out to eat, while I was visiting her in DC. When we walked up, I thought the place looked. a little sketch from the outside. However, it was incredible inside. It had a great atmosphere, and a really good vibe, but the best part of this place is the people and the food. The service was incredible. The staff work together very well to make sure that everyone was taken care of. The oysters were fabulous and being here on Monday night when they were half off was even a bigger bonus. I ordered the muscles. I've never tasted sauce that good. my daughter got the black Seabass special and it was very tasty. The old fashions were made perfectly, and the bananas foster for dessert, which we shared Was so tasty. definitely a place worth visiting and make sure you talk to Eduardo. he's quite the gem and knows all about the menu.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my faves for oysters in the city.
Great drinks and ambience. Great happy hour and late night go upstairs for a fun night time bar at tilt !
Be the first to ReplyPearl dive, shocking to no one, is great for oysters.
Other than that I might have to give their food a skip. My friend and I visited for a light dinner and we got a half dozen oysters, the lobster rangoon, and an oyster po boy to share. The lobster rangoon were pretty good as far as "rangoon" go I guess, but there was only really a hint of lobster and they were super heavy on the cream cheese. And to add insult to injury they only gave us three pieces...for $15. Then came the po'boy. I'm always going to choose an oyster po'boy if given the option. But honestly this sandwich felt skimpy in a lot of ways as well. There were maybe four fried oysters on the whole sandwich. The fries were the perfect shoestring, thin, crispy, and soft on the inside, but there weren't many of them. Also pretty disappointing for $17. After a couple of disappointing courses we were super excited for dessert- we basically went because we were craving bananas foster and they had one on the menu that sounded incredible. When we ordered from the waiter he said that it was just being made and would be at least an hour or an hour and a half before it was ready. This was at 8:45 on a Wednesday night. We were super bummed and though we said we'd go back for it, I'm not sure we will. We paid almost $70 for some disappointing food, no drinks, no dessert. Not sure the bananas foster would be worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThe best restaurant in D.
C.. I love the appetizer crab!! It was so fresh and wonderful. Second best was lo que los gatos. Amish chicken is also good and large portion. But the shrimps are just okay. Feel like it's not fresh and tasty. The service was perfect. Out server was so friendly and super nice. The ambiance was also good for party.
Be the first to ReplyGood happy hour spot with $1.
50 oysters and a wide selection of discounted drinks including beers and cocktails. The martini goes well with the oysters. Really enjoyed the mussels as well. The fish sticks weren't as good, only came with 3 per order. Service was pretty good overall even though the bar gets very busy at times. The credit card surcharge of 4% is a bit annoying. I'm glad it is clearly communicated, but there are no ATMs on this block and it seems a bit of a money grab.
Be the first to ReplySuch a cool spot for drinks and dinner.
Fun indoor/outdoor vibe. All the drinks were good. Service attentive. Oysters fresh. The free bread was dank. Mussels and blackened shrimp bomb. Will def come back.

.. and Pearl Dive is still our favorite place. Came for dinner here for the first time since the pandemic. This used to be my boyfriend and I's favorite place but we just hadn't made it to dine in since COVID. We returned last week to continue his birthday tradition. As usual, we were immediately greeted and welcomed. To start we got a dozen blue point oysters and a clam chowder. All delicious. Blue points are our personal favorite and we love that they always have them! For dinner, I got the seafood gumbo and he got the fried chicken. For us, personally, Pearl dive never misses. Every meal we've gotten we loved and this time was no different. The seafood gumbo is so delicious and filling. The chunks of crab and shrimp were just right. The fried chicken dish is large and filling. We were both very happy. Lastly, we got the key lime for dessert, which was fluffy, tart, and yummy. Overall, Pearl dive continues to provide great service and delicious meals. It remains our favorite go to place!
Be the first to ReplyHusband and I came here because we were in the area.
Sssooo happy we stayed!! We got the bacon oysters and THEY.WERE.AMAZING! The shrimp n Grits were super good and the collard greens were AHmazing too!! Husband got the Jambalaya and it was tasty as well. We didn't get any speciality drinks. Their banana fosters was also good too! If you're exploring the new 14th Street in DC, stop by the Pearl Dive Oyster Palace for a great meal! We got fresh oysters on the half-shell, no grit and delicious, and a pound of Addie's Mussels, which were the best mussels I've ever had. If you get the mussels, please remember to ask for extra toast to soak up all the delicious broth! We could have eaten another pound of mussels, but decided to get a few po'boys (delicious, crunchy and not greasy), the Dive Burger and Shrimp & Grits. All worthy of praise! Finally, the Ricotta Beignets, Florida Key Lime pie and Bananas Foster for dessert. A great meal for everyone. Definitely worth another visit. Just thinking about the mussels are making my mouth water...

I was denied entry because I have a visible movement disorder and the security guard said I was too intoxicated to enter. I tried to explain what condition I have and that this was the first bar I was attempting to enter for the evening. He told that I was intoxicated and incoherent, and so I got upset with him. He then threatened to fight me. Whatever the case may be, not a good look for a restaurant. I wouldn't recommend trying to go here.
