Highly recommended!!!
The food is INSANELY delicious!!! Small menu with both meat and veg options but prepared down to perfection. Excellent wine collection and knowledgeable staff. Extremely pleasant atmosphere and decor. Was full on a Friday evening, so it’s good we booked a table in advance. Service was impeccable, absolutely five star place! Must visit!
Be the first to ReplyA little hidden but very good and not touristy
Very friendly staff, good and quality meals, organic menu. A little hipster, a little bohemian decoration. The personal do. E suggestions if you're a little lost what to order.
Be the first to ReplyFirst dinner in Tallinn: quality ok
Place a few steps from the central square, not very large and furnished in a modern way. The cuisine is quite refined and with few choices (furthermore, compared to the proposed menu, we were then told when ordering that some dishes were not available). My husband and I ordered smoked salmon with potato salad and cream (not a huge portion). It was something truly heavenly. Our son got a breaded steak (huge). To accompany it we took a typical focaccia (thick and stuffed). Very kind and helpful staff. Bill of 80 euros for three main courses, focaccia, two glasses and a coffee. Not a little but you pay for the quality (certainly high).
Be the first to Reply5 stars. Amazing dinner
5 out of 5 stars!!! Had a delicious dinner at Peet Ruut with my family while visiting Tallinn. Every meal was delicious, and everyone had something different for each meal. Would 100% go again and also recommend to anyone else.
Be the first to ReplyGood for small appetites
The place is nice, I love the wooden ceiling and nice painting on the floor, the decoration is cute. Service was really good. I was surprised by the price, so I just took the main dish, the vegan one with cabbage. It was good, but the cabbage bit chewy. The mushroom broth was super nice, but to be honest, the portion is way too small, and even more for the price. So I can't tell for other dishes.

It's just a great combination. Great food, relaxed and friendly service. Highly recommended to anyone wanted dinner in Tallinn
Be the first to Replysuperb find in Old City
We were wary of dining in the Old City, with a fair number of what looked like tourist trap types of restaurants lining some of the main squared and thoroughfares. We also wanted dinner with a strong Estonian flavour to it. We were very, very lucky to come across Peet Ruut after a bit online research! - vegetable side dishes and starters were all superb, especially the eggplant and the bruschetta. - trout was perfect! - there was a fabulous gruner wine by the glass. - very modern take on cabbage rolls. - rhubarb dessert was also superb. The atmosphere is laid-back, not overly formal or pretentions, which is great. There were lots of young locals eating here, which we took a very positive sign -- a place to go on a nice date or just out with friends. The staff were very pleasant to deal with had helpful suggestions. Some from our party vowed to return ASAP, and I would personally do the same when next in Tallinn.

The stuffed savoy cabbage (barley and mushrooms) served in a mushroom broth was only OK. I would not recommend it or order it again. The cabbage was chewy, a challenge to even cut. The broth was the best part. The Estonian tomato salad was DELICIOUS. Service was average. They have outdoor seating in front and out in the back. Interior was nice.

A restaurant with a focus on bio, an interesting menu, but you have to be prepared, for example the steak is served without a side dish and it's drowned in beetroot mousse like soup. I took the mackerel and it's quite ordinary, it's dry and quite bland, a little mound of fennel only slightly softens its very pungent taste. I liked the design of the restaurant, stunning authentic log ceiling, delightful Art Deco floral pattern floor. The walls were painted with zoghurt-based paint during the renovation, so the waiter told us. We sat cosily in the corner. There is also a little patio outdoors. Wonderful service, everything on time, with presentation of dishes, checking if everything is ok, if anything else is needed. We were pretty much alone on a late Sunday evening. The place is nice, but you have to know if the menu is right for you.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, service average
Spontanious visit for dinner: pleasantly surprised with the food, yet service was very average (long waiting times, 30 minutes for drinks, and first oder was forgotten). If you reserve, ask for a good, quiet table, otherwise you might be placed in the corridor - not very nice way to eat, as other guests and staff rush by every few seconds. That said, definitely worth a visit.

We had to wait for long and finally there’s cold food on a plate (for one of us). There’s reason why neighboring restaurants are always fully booked…
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and service in a very cozy venue.
We had a really nice dinner here, tried the vegan beetroot starter and the fishcake and both were excellent. Very sweet and helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyHit and miss - cold food and understaffed, but some good dishes like eggplant stater and fishcake main course
Unfortunately understaffed on the day we were dining and food arrived slowly and cold, leaving some of us waiting while others ate. The menu is interesting and compact, but hit and miss for success or disappointment. Not a good choice if there is a child in the group. The management was absent so the waiter was left in a very uncomfortable position when we complained.

Came across this restaurant by chance. Really tasty food and friendly service. The 20% charge on bills is VAT, not service charge.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely dee-licious.
My husband and I visited for a late lunch partly to dodge the rain, which I'm now very pleased we did!! The meal was absolutely delicious. I had sweet potato with crispy oyster mushrooms and rocket, sounds quite standard but it wasn't like anything I've ever tasted. My husband had the ribs which were also delicious and it was a decent portion. We had tomatoes and pesto as a side, home made crunchy pesto and warm red and yellow tomatoes. As it was late lunch there wasn't tons of atmosphere but the service was great, and the restaurant itself is quirky and cute. Only downside, as someone else has mentioned, is the 20% service automatically added to the bill which is very cheeky. If you are prepared for that, you will love the food.
Be the first to ReplyExtraordinary surprise in Tallinn
Meal was exceptional - quality ingredients, interesting flavors, perfectly plated. Service was lovely, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with suggestions. Ambiance - sophisticated but charming and cozy. I can’t imagine a better dining experience in Tallinn. Please take the two extra minutes to walk off of the main square to find this gem. You will not regret it.
Be the first to ReplyPure and honest tastes!
This kind of fresh place (opened in 2021 October) is like a blend of ülo and LouLou restaurants- both from the food and interior aspect.
They should also (soon) have a small cozy inner yard, too!
Definitely don't go with regular expectations, get yourself ready to step out of the comfort zone to discover the boundaries of their compact menu.
They can truly be proud of their pure (local & organic) ingredients + honest tastes.
🏆 We have to mention that there's one starter that's still on our minds - Deep fried eggplant, hoisin sauce 🏆
And the fans of Peet Ruut are right, the lamb meatballs are BANGER!
Indeed, we literally licked all the plates until there was nothing left anymore 🤫.
🧡Also, we must say that the service was super lovely and caring. Thanks, Peet Ruut angels in and out of the kitchen!
Frustration
Madalkupsetatud forell was cold and moist. Antrekoot was small and not tasty. No sides, salad or potato. The other restaurants near by on Rataskaevu are much better.
Be the first to ReplyMind-blowing
I ate for the starter eggplant and for the main course entrecote. My husband ate the lama meatballs and aspargus. We share everything. Best food for a while. I can really recommend this place from the bottom of my heart!😍
Be the first to ReplyAmazing💪💪❤️❤️
Amazing egg plants. Something from outer world. Just something that you can not get from anywhere else. Super super duper. And then: meatballs…. Uuuhhh❤️❤️❤️❤️ everything best ever❤️❤️
Be the first to ReplyUnique tastes, cozy atmosphere
Situated at the heart of Tallinn old town, this is a must visit for every traveling foodie. The food here is absolutely delicious full of little surprises with unexpected and unique tastes. Ever tried a cured beetroot tartare or vegan pavlova with spruce shoot cream? If no, then this is the place. The menu is healthy and vegan friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and service excellent. Best enjoyed in a good company.
Be the first to ReplyCozy place, great food
Although we visited the restaurant by chance, we were fully satisfied. Cozy atmosphere, friendly, quick, precise and unobtrusive waitress, excellent food (delicious smoked trout, a portion fully sufficient for two, great icecream with pumpkin crumble), nice wine. Menu apparently focused more on quality than breadth.
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite restaurant in Tallinn
If you are looking for your own favorite restaurant in Tallinn, Peet Ruut is the one, trust me.
The service is just wonderful - Heleriin our waitress explained all the dishes and recommended complimenting drinks to the food.
The food is divine - every element on your plate is just super good. No more words needed. Okay maybe few: eggplant, raw burger, cabbage, hanger steak, meatballs, trout, french toast….
The drinks - they are all adventurous, surprising and … just wow!!! Kama shot is something out if this world.
This is the short review of my favorite restaurant in Tallinn.
Loved it!
One of my favourite restaurants in Tallinn! I enjoy everything about this place. The atmosphere, the service and concept was extraordinary.
Be the first to ReplyThe nest of flavors
Locals are not unfamiliar with Peet Ruut location. There have been some very good places to eat in this area and in the neighborhood.
Less is more sums up their menu. There is a versatile choice for both starters and main courses. Eggplants proved to be our big favorite among the appetizers.
In addition to the taste experiences, space itself is very important. This means that Peet Ruut's atmosphere is cozy and warm, a mixture of modern and historical interior elements.
A place to visit regularly if you are local. In both small and large company. Im more than sure that everybody feel there homelike <3
