Pink Peppercorn Seafood House Vancouver Reviews from The Last Year
Good food gives me mussels.
.. I used to take some of my friends here a half dozen of times a year. It's a nice and cozy little place with good food and service, well at least as far as i remembered. (This used to be the Cannery Restaurant way back in the days?!?) Anyways, first time back here since post pandemic because I am hungry for some surf and turf that my tummy recalled as decently good?!? (Fingers crossed) This place is located right across the street from White Spot on Kingsway closed to Knight street in Vancouver. There is parking at the back or pay street parking right outside. The layout and interior vibe is that of the 90s; a mixed of fine dining with a casual atmosphere. Here were the food I ordered this time around; 1. Dinner bread with lobster oil (complimentary). Nice little snacker and I believe they are famous for their lobster oil? 2. Virgin chi chi. It was okay, pretty basic. 3. Lobster bisque. It was hot, rich and creamy. However just a tad on the sweet side. 4. Manila Clam chowder (New England style). It was hot with a nice portion of clam meats but once again a tad on the sweet side. (The chef had a sweet tooth?!? 5. San Francisco style mussels. Literally delicious! Loved it! The mussels were meaty, fresh, juicy and plump! Finally not those little dried up raisin like mussels a lot of places serve! (Thank the Food God) 6. Seafood platter ($29.95/ person minimum 2 people). Everything was tasty and nicely done BUT why only 1 oyster and 1 scallop?!? lol value wise it's a yes and a no, depending on how you look at it especially other dishes are generous in portions. 7. Aged Alberta tenderloin. It was juicy and tender as it should be. Nice sauce! And a generous portion of sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes. 8. 10 oz New York Steak. Nice and tasty, very nicely done. Loved the creamy, buttery mashed potato! However the peppercorn sauce was a bit on the sweet side? (I am beginning to think the chef really has a sweet tooth!). This is a nice little place to really enjoy some surf and turf with some good company or by yourself like me sometimes (no I am not a loner or need to hire a friend!). Casual atmosphere with good vibes. The service here during this visit was very good considering the fact that there was only one server taking care of everyone. AND he managed it so well and efficiently! (Kid you not, an employee every company wants, sadly they don't make such employee nowadays) As for the food, everything was quite good and tasty, just the sauces were a bit on the sweeter side. I really tried my best but had to pack most of my steak home, I think I really over ordered this time around. Instead of good food, more like a lot of food gives me mussels (ummm yeah sounds a bit corny...)
Absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had!
Just recently discovered the owner of Pink Peppercorn used to be a chef at the Cannery so we didn't hesitate to book a family dinner here and boy are we glad we did! It was great fun seeing some of the old decor from the Cannery altho the room felt a bit cramped which didn't deter an almost full house on a week night. Food was fantastic with healthy portions and there were no extra charges if you requested a bit more sauce which adds to the feeling that owner Eddy wants his guests to be happy no matter what. I had the special crab salad starter followed by sauteed scallops & prawns that I still dream about to this day. Others raved about the fresh oysters, boulliabaisse and halibut special. The only area that didn't overwhelm us were the desserts but this was minor compared to the main courses and service provided. We will definitely be back!
I have to admit I haven't heard of Pink Peppercorn before.
However after our great meal last night, I am happy to recommend this place. My first impression was that the menu and vibe reminded me of 'The Cannery', which closed over ten years ago. LO and behold, I found out the chef of the Cannery is now the chef of Pink Peppercorn. Also, our server was also from there and he has quite a few stories to tell. And now to the food. Two types of warm bread and lobster oil is a very nice touch. The calamari was one of the best I have ever tasted, crispy, juicy and perfectly cooked. I had to order the salmon Wellington as it looked amazing in the pictures from other Yelp reviews. It was very very good. My partner had the black cod, which was a nice portion. I would say I wouldn't mind it less smoked as too much smoke takes away from the delicate taste of the fish. Service was top notch, but on this night they were short handed as a server called in sick. Other than that it was a perfect evening. Such restaurants as a dying breed so I hope they will be around for a while. Good job, chef and team.
Amazing portions and amazing food.
They let me change my pasta sauce to a cream sauce which was so good! We got their appetizer of the day which were scallops in lemon butter sauce. The bread and the lobster oil that they give to every table was addictive -- I tried to not eat too much knowing that the portions here are generous. We also got the salmon Wellington -- the sweet gravy-like sauce they give you was quite nice. My tip is to not pour all the sauce into your flaky pastry all at once unless you're absolutely sure you won't be taking home leftovers so it doesn't get all soggy, The pasta I substituted cream sauce for (instead of tomato red sauce) was delightful. Exactly what I wanted -- though I felt I could've had more noodles. But who am I to complain about the amount of fish and seafood I got on top of those noodles?
What a great restaurant! This place feeds you well &
What a great restaurant! This place feeds you well & brought me back to the early 2000s circa Cannery vibes. This is not a pretentious place at all. My date and I had the Smoked Alaskan Black Cod, Salmon Wellington & Trio of Tartare. Food was delicious and servings were enormous. My cod had 2 normal sized fillets and a smaller mini one. Tons of vegetables & yummy mashed potatoes in a citrusy lemon butter sauce. Leftovers for 2 extra meals for me. My date really enjoyed his Wellington as well. It's amazing how they keep the fish moist while baked in that delicious shell. We probably could have skipped the Tartare as the extra protein sure didn't help with having an empty stomach to tackle the main. They also have your usual staple mixed drinks. My mojito was nicely boozed without alot of water as many places tend to be. Oh right they also serve warn bread with their delicious lobster oil. Not quite the Cannery lobster oil I remember but delicious nonetheless. Server was helpful, friendly and everyone seemed very happy to be there.
Food was superb.
Service was excellent. Portions were generous. The highlight was definitely the SALMON WELLINGTON, and lobster bisque but everything else was also amazing. This is quite the unassuming restaurant from the outside but boy was I blown away. Every bite was so flavourful and well executed.
It's been a few years since I was at the Pink Peppercorn
It's been a few years since I was at the Pink Peppercorn last, but the food is every bit as good as I remember. I took my Mum out for a special dinner and we started off with the calamari, which she absolutely raved about. We both agreed it's the best we have ever had. For my entrée, I had the sautéed scallops and prawns, and my Mum had the cedar plank wild salmon. I couldn't decide which dish I preferred; they were both delicious with generous portions of each. I had to pack up most of mine to enjoy the following day. I wish we had saved room for dessert as the crème brûlée is fantastic here. Service was exceptional as always, and I can't wait to return. The only downside was finding parking. There is parking at the rear of the building but signage wasn't very clear so I wasn't sure if I actually parked in the right area. On a night when it was quite dark and pouring rain, I could only see signs that warned of construction and nothing to show restaurant parking. Still, the meal was definitely worth getting soaked in the rain.

Had a group dinner last week at Pink Peppercorn and it was wonderful. PP has the lower section for groups. We have dined there before with another large group. The food and service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. We booked for 5:30 and got seated with drinks right away. The place quickly filled up, even on a Wednesday night. The upper level tables seem to be for couples and smaller groups, which was quite full. Even though they were busy no long waits for the meals or drink/wine top ups. Many of us had the Halibut special, which was wonderful. Others had the Salmon Wellington and some other seafood dishes. Great mashed potatoes and lots of fresh veg on the plate. Always a treat to have dinner at the Pink Peppercorn and be served by Teddy Bear and all the other staff. Looing forward to the next visit.
A great experience with excellent food
We had not been to the PP for several years but wanted to stretch our usual pattern so celebrated 2 birthdays there last week. As noted by others, it is in a nondescript part of town at Knight and Kingsway and certainly has none of the ambience of the old Cannery location. This was made up for however by the enthusiastic staff, specifically the sole waiter who managed the entire front of house while being good natured and making sure things kept moving along. The seafood menu is extensive and the portions are large; some would say a bit over the top but certainly value for price. All the fish tried (tuna, smoked black cod, halibut, salmon Wellington) was perfectly done and sides were fresh and delicious. Starters (one Caesar salad and2 calamari) were each enough for 2 to share. We had no room for dessert but because it was a birthday occasion, the waiter brought 2 creme brulees on the house which was a nice touch. The owner/chef also dropped by to say hello and thanked us for coming. Overall, this is a really good place for a solid meal, well prepared with enthusiastic staff and reasonble prices. We won't delay our next visit for so long.
## Oldest Seafood restaurant in town ##
It is been a while since my last visit , this restaurant been in business for long time in Vancouver , I still remember the old location by the waterfront know as " Cannery " now restaurant is located on Kingsway , not a great area little scuzzy , and not a luxury upscale place , but casual comfortable atmosphere , it do get very noisy when the restaurant packed , menu lot to choose from Chops to seafood , I never get tired of this restaurant and got invited from my friend's special 70 Birthday last night , their Salmon Wellington is well like from locals , a classic dishes , all those years , I all way order the Lamb (MR ) with mashed , very tender juicy and flavourful and my friend , they both order the Salmon Wellington , because our server strongly recommended , they both very happy to tried it out , not greasy or dry , very high caliber cooking over all ! good quality in food and service price reasonable for seafood restaurant , truly recommended this place for sure you will not disappoint !

Pink Peppercorn is a great place to go! We went for our wedding and it was one of the few places that didn't require you to have a set menu and we had 14 people! Food was good and ambience was as well! Service was top notch! Would totally recommend and would also go back to try other things off the menu. I had the rack of lamb and was totally satisfied!

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
