Tired of boring burgers, chicken, pizza on the strip? Ramen-Ya is a pretty authentic window into Japan. Now that I typed that, it sounds corny or staged, but it is actually true. We wanted something lighter, healthier and quick and did not want to walk way off the strip or catch an Uber. Ramen-Ya came up in a search (you know where) and figured we would try it. I have been to Japan half a dozen times on vacay and business (not trying to brag - just give perspective). I LOVE Japanese food. Ramen-Ya is very much like a small fast ramen / Udon place you would find in Japan. The service was super fast, I mean like lightning. Food was great, and the prices reasonable. Like a couple other foods, I typically get the same thing at places like this if they have it - Oyakuodon. It is a rice bowl thing with sautéed chicken, onions and egg and a really savory light sauce (ie. not drowning the rice) picture below. I like ramen, and curries, but if a place has Oyakuodon, I get it. Ramen-Ya nailed it (not that it is that hard to make probably) so I was really happy. My wife got a curry rice, shrimp and broccoli bowl and she loved it (looked a bit too "saucy" for me). The restaurant also had Sapporo Dark which is one of our favorite Japanese beers. Lastly - as we were leaving the restaurant my wife saw a photo a sumo wrestling match on the wall and the guy that greeted us that works there said it was him 20yrs ago. Pretty cool!!Super place, we will go back. Back again, Awesome!!!
