Finnish classic restaurant.
We were celebrating birthdays in Kruunu. The restaurant is in an old property, which has preserved the spirit of the past. The food is Finnish classics, very good. The service is attentive and great. I recommend!

The first contact wasn't the best. As soon as we arrived at this place located a little outside the centre, I wondered if there had been a misunderstanding in what I had read in the guides about this "Three Crowns". The appearance at the entrance was that of one of the many bars for excessive lovers of low-priced (and low-quality) wine and the serial sequences of beer mugs that dot the area (there is one even 50 meters from there ): counter, small round tables... But I had to change my mind: continuing on, the restaurant area offered a better view. And the list of dishes on offer promised an immersion in the classics of Finnish gastronomy which, all things considered, did not disappoint. Discarded - it must be said - two of the dishes most loved by the locals, starting from the Pittypannu (a large plate of pieces of sausages, potatoes, meat and other things) and another pork specialty drowned in a sauce "enriched" by the fat of the same beast, because the risk of destroying one's stomach in old age is high, we opted for the very classic lihapulla (tasty pork and beef meatballs in sauce) and for a delicious whitefish fillet "in the manner of Marshal Mannerheim", i.e. baked with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes. Both appreciated. The salmon soup I tasted as a starter was clearly above the average of those I had already eaten in Finland. The so-called Lappish cheese with lakka sauce - a golden arctic berry - is good, although in very limited proportions. With a glass of prosecco and a cider, the bill came to just over 100 euros for two. Does that seem like a lot to you? Me too, but if you come to these parts you'll realize that it's the average cost of a decent restaurant. And at least, we eat well here.
Be the first to ReplyGood dinner in a typical restaurant.
A sincere place. We eat until late, the dishes are good, the prices are not high compared to the city average. We returned a second time seeing how good we had been.
Be the first to ReplyWelcoming
At the end of the chilly day, it's pleasant to have dinner in a quiet place, with a Finnish but pleasant menu, also vegetarian if necessary. Even the presentation on the plates is taken care of - of course you have to specify the bread, and it's good too. The desserts are average.

Sauna can be booked privately No breakfast if departure before restaurant opens A solution is required here
Be the first to ReplyVery good for discovering typical dishes
Pleasant atmosphere, good service and well served dishes. A good option to discover typical Finnish dishes. We like it.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Finnish food!
We just walked passed this place by chance. A quick check of the reviews was good enough for us. Nice welcome by the staff and we had a booth table in the corner. Both the man and the lady that served us were friendly. Delicious creamy salmon soup to start. My friend had the salmon main and I had the meatballs which was simply fantastic - probably the best thing I ate during my time in Helsinki. Would come back, great job guys.
Be the first to ReplyGreat traditional Finnish food and a cozy atmosphere
Went for dinner and had a very enjoyable meal. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly, would definitely recommend
Be the first to ReplyWorth going there for traditional Finish atmosphere and food
I visited the restaurant Friday night for a dinner with a colleague of mine, and the experience was very nice. Professional waiters, traditional atmosphere and great finish food!!
Be the first to ReplyCozy atmosphere, good authentic Finnish cuisine, understandably popular
We came here twice on a week-long visit to Helsinki, dined outdoors the first time and lucked out getting a seat inside without a reservation on a second visit. It seems to be one of the more in-demand places to get into in this part of the city, and with good reason. Overall very good to excellent representation of Finnish food, with professional-level service even under crowded conditions. Some dishes are stronger than others: my son ordered the Laskisoosi (pork dish with gravy and mash potatoes and more) and loved it both times, I was impressed too when I tasted it. The reindeer stew with bits of reindeer and mashed potatoes was less of a hit, they acknowledge it's frozen reindeer bits and something about the water in the cooked meat turned the mashed potatoes into something resembling dirty dishwater. That was on the first meal, so we avoided that on the second try. Salmon soup (a staple here in Helsinki) was the finest example of that dish we encountered during our stay here. With the wonderful bread and butter served with it, and a good beer, you couldn't be happier. I think it's obviously a much-loved restaurant, cozy atmosphere inside and even with a crowd, not very loud because of carpeting and the general acoustic setup. It's feels cozy, not overwhelming, and that's something that we as Americans, should treasure, given how rare that is in our country's restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyFood good, service 0
If there are white tablecloths on the table, I hope for good service that gives me the feeling that I am welcome... this was not the case. The food was good, but I expected more from the licorice sauce for the reindeer…. more licorice flavor… -> food good service bad

A very-easy-to-like restaurant. Old school premises with brown wooden panels on the walls and white tablecloths. The food is traditional, somewhat rustic - and very tasty. We had salmon soup and perch-pike and were not disappointed. The service is good and the price level moderate.
This should be a place where mainly the locals gather, but from the languages that were spoken at the tables we concluded that also foreigners like the place. Could be recommended.
A Helsinki classic with delicious Scandinavian food
Coming here, do not expect anything "trendy" och "contemporary". Kolme Kruunua is a genuinely 1930's restaurant upholding traditions and serving classics - including the menu and the interior. We had reindeer which was not outright cheap, but charmed our tongues off. Their kitchen knows what it is they do. Moreover, they have a very professional and friendly customer service. If you are looking for very delicious traditional Scandinavian food - this is a good choice.
Be the first to ReplyCustomer service
After years of visiting the nearby restaurant Kolme Kruunua, customer service level has collapsed close to zero - not feeling well come at all. During one drink we realized that all customers has to face the same problem. We left the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplySalmon soup
The best salmon soup in town with great rye bread. Will recommend with international guests. Also the dessert from the Karelian area called “köyhä ritari” the poor knight is exellent, sweet“french toast”

Easy reservation, quick service, traditional Finnish meals, and delicious food. Nice for a family dinner; kids menu is definitely a plus.

My wife and I had dinner there tonite and the main courses were both like warm as we were
really hungry decided to eat in spite of this
Should not happen when confronted the waitress in good way she started to explain
about bad warming lights in the kitchen.
We should have returned the food when it came but did not do it
The quality of food especially my wife’s Wienerschnizel was good but my reindeer stew was not so good! Both though like warm
It seems that when you complain the waitress can only say I am sorry my answer is do not be sorry improve yourself.
When asked we got a coffee for compensation but no pro activity here
This has happened a few times when complaining and find especially disturbing as this restaurant is good but needs to train staff in handling complaints?
Word of mouth 👍
Found the place by word of mouth, good menu and good food. Half of a lounge bar and a cozy restaurant, music in the background low lights.
Local me ù with Finnish specialities and a decent selection of whines (allow me decent just because my wife loves sweet wine and the selection is mostly dry wine).
Overall a great experience, competent and capable crew and an expert chef. Food comes out at the right pace to let you enjoy both food and the conversation in the middle.
Price is proportionate to the experience.
A place to go 👍
By the way you can just stop by for a beer at the deck.
Great restaurant
This typical Finnish restaurant was really good, from service to the food. We had a salmon soup to start with that came with an amazing bread and butter; and two typical Finnish plates as main- quantities were big and everything was well tasty, we loved it!
