Red Ginger Traverse City Reviews
Best Sushi in NoMI
Some locals try to be different, and will send you elsewhere for TC's best sushi. This is an absolute joke. Red Ginger is the pinnacle of quality sushi in Northern Michigan. There are other menu items as well linked to Asian cuisine, but we alw
Dinner service; Tuesday- Saturday.
A Delicious menu with unique, flavorful meals. Wonderful waitstaff and crafted food & drinks. Nice downtown location.
This is my favorite in TC.
..bar none! From the manager's welcoming attitude thru dinner and dessert, it's all top notch. Our sushi was delish. My dessert was so fabulous I almost ate the candle! Can't remember now what it was, but I think a lemon mouse cake. T

Food was good.
Service was good but found it completely inappropriate that there was a dog sitting on a chair and eating at the table next to us - being hand-fed and licking someone's plate the whole dinner time - disgusting and very disappointing. Wait staff
The food was extremely salty that I couldn't finish it.
I do not recommend the Faroe island salmon or lobster fried rice. The price is also very expensive for what you get.
Didn't mess around with the order.
Straight to the entree with Beef Tenderloin Penang - 9 out of 10. Dessert coconut rice pudding with rum mango sauce, 8 out of 10. Terry - great server - great recommendations - pleasant and fun. 10/10. Views of the Bay/Lake Michigan from most of

Must Go!!
My favorite restaurant of all time!! This place NEVER disappoints!! I highly, highly recommend! This place is always a 2-3 time visit when weโre in TVC for even a week.
Delightful spot in downtown Traverse City.
If you enjoy Asian food definitely visit. Make a reservation! Their menu boasts so many starters - small plates that you could share several of those if you wanted for your meal. I added a photo of what I ordered. I also sampled the Dragon Wings

Great, but LOUD
As a sushi restaurant, this place is excellent. Very, very good sushi. The food was great, and service was reasonably good, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The crowd was a combination of young people (in the front near the bar), and older folk
Highly recommend!
Love it! This restaurant is soo delicious. We had crab rangoons (on special that day) and spring rolls for appetizers for the group. The. We had a mix of sushi and meal entrees. Everything was top notch but the beef ishiyaki stands alone. How cut
Excellent Asian fare.
One of our favorite restaurants. Love the sushi and also the steak on a hot stone.
Great Asian fusion restaurant.
Selection of bourbons was good. Sat at the bar, and it was very loud - to the point it was difficult to hold a conversation. The sushi was excellent although on the pricey side. Highly recommend, except for the noise level.

The atmosphere is excellent, the sushi is fabulous, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. It can be a little price-y, but c'mon--it's sushi; their prices are pretty typical for this quality of food and service. Would 14/10 recomm

Asian good, pot stickers bad
Birthday dinner with son and DIL. All the entrees were superb, as were the appetizer spring roll and sushi/sashimi. However, the pot stickers my husband had were small, chewy and not that tasty.
Delicious food in a cool venue
We were on vacation and came here with friends who used to live locally and highly recommended it. The food was delicious, the service was very good and the ambiance was cool. We started with the Chinese Ribs, which were really good, edamame and Drag
Ging a favorite of everyone in town.
Go early not easy to get a table or a seat at the bar. There's nowhere else to get sushi in Traverse City. Service and food is good. Not expensive.

Red Ginger is located in the heart of downtown Traverse City right on Front Street and right next to the State Theater - you can't ask for a more central location than this! During the summer, the locals have told me that it is nearly impossible to
Upscale is the best word.
Tune in to the dress code before venturing over there. This is clearly $$$ dining. The cost to value ratio is balanced, if you enjoy top notch Asian cuisine. The atmosphere is most inviting, not too fancy, yet worthy. If you are in the know on thi

We went here for restaurant week and as usual it didn't disappoint. I had Chinese ribs for an appetizer. They were coated in a five spice bbq sauce. Are you supposed to lick your fingers at a restaurant? I don't care it was so good. For a main course
Our food was absolutely exceptional.
We had the Chinese ribs and minced chicken in lettuce leaves for apps, then Thai curry and an ahi tuna bowl for entrees. Dan was our waiter, nice, prompt, non-invasive. Excellent Asian restaurant, the best in the entire area.

I used to live in the area and Red Ginger was one of my favorite restaurants so we always make an attempt to return. We ordered 4 different roles, and for the price, it was the most mediocre sushi. One roll was the Spicy Salmon roll and it did not ta

Excellent food and service!
What a great consistent restaurant. The service is always impeccable and the food is so creative, delicious and beautifully put together. I come here a couple times a year from down south and am always impressed at the quality of the food and service

Consistently delicious, great atmosphere & friendly attentive staff. The kids chicken bento box is a fave of our non-'adventurous eater!
Absolutely delicious.
The service was excellent and the ambience is delightful. The bar is fun, but if you are sitting close to the front door in the winter time, it can be cold.
Excellent Service
Excellent service and delicious food. Our friends had the tuna poke, Indian curry, Thai curry, and salmon. Very fresh and delicious!!!!
The Best food and service!!! Great atmosphere!!

A Little Gem. Don't miss this restaurant if you love Sushi!
Great atmosphere inside and out on back deck along with great service. Thank you Teri W. We ordered Seared Salmon, Chef Dan's Roll, and spring rolls. All were delicious and fresh. I would go back over and over again!
A 5 star service experience and 5 star beyond delicious food!
I called to make a solo reservation. They said come in and we will find you a seat. The delightful young hostess's immediately sat me at a solo table next to the entrance of the kitchen. Dan was my waiter and his service was impeccable, polite and
Try the Red Ginger.
The service is outstanding. The sushi is fresh and prepared perfectly. The ambiance for a sushi inspired restaurant that also serves regular seafood dishes is exceptional. My server Dan, is on point and the wine list provided very good choices.
Disappointed couples night out
Use to love eating here, disappointed quality isn't what it used to be. Waitress couldn't answer basis question concerning green curry. Disappointed spending $150 and left food on our plate.
Disappointed, getting too pricey to enjoy!
Pricing me out of the market. Asian cuisine used to be fun and flavorful and inexpensive. Places like Red Ginger take the fun out of it when your bill exceeds 200.00 for a couple drinks and simple dinner.
Tasted like grocery store sushi!
Bragged about the fish being flown from Hawaii. Took a long time, Sushi was meh. As a avid sushi lover, I was not impressed. The only reason this place rated so highly was the atmosphere. NOT THE FISH. Also the only other sushi restaurants are inside

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Red Ginger Traverse City at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Red Ginger Traverse City page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
    1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* CoolestCough45, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* CoolestCough45 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to CoolestCough45 for any questions Peter may have as CoolestCough45 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* CoolestCough45 now uses their connections at Red Ginger Traverse City to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If CoolestCough45 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, CoolestCough45 receives the $200 reward which is credited to CoolestCough45's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Red Ginger Traverse City!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
