Resaurante Chino Nan Kin Garden Benijofar Reviews from The Last Year
awsome.
touristy place, but one's locals also know is great. get the magu and any no of other great stuff. and, big outdoor area.
Tasty flavors! We enjoyed everything we ordered.
The service was fast and the food came out really quickly too. The place is on the smaller side but you have the option of sitting inside or outside. Def a tourist spot. The prices of each dish is a little on the pricey side but worth it.
BEST CHINESE FOOD I'VE HAD! My boyfriend and I were walking
BEST CHINESE FOOD I'VE HAD! My boyfriend and I were walking around Chinatown when we were on Yelp trying to look for a good place to eat within walking distance. We stumbled upon House of Nanking and decided to give it a try. We ordered the Sizzling Rice Soup, Chili Oil Tossed Pork Wontons, and the Mogu Beef (based on our waiters recommendation). All three dishes were so good that I craved this food the day after, and that says a lot! The Sizzling Rice Soup kind of reminds me of a Vietnamese soup that I've had before called Canh Chưa, but a more elevated version. The Chili Oil Tossed Pork Wontons were soft and I loved the chili oil sauce around it. I've had other chili oil wontons, but this one hits differently. Definitely a must order! The Mogu Beef was recommended by our waiter and he did not disappoint! The meat on the inside was very tender and juicy and the restaurant also aligned the taste to my palate preference perfectly! Highly recommend this dish too. Next time I come back, I want to try other dishes but it will be hard since the three dishes I ordered were so good!
A lot of self declared "famous" dishes.
We ordered 4: green beans, fried rice made tableside (famous specialty), poached scallops, and sesame chicken (famous specialty). The green beans were blistered on the outside and tender on the inside; wasn't spicy (even with added chili oil). The scallops were sliced and served on top of a warming plate with a bed of spinach in some type of black bean sauce. The scallops were tender but the black beans overpowered the dish. The fried rice is served table side on sizzling plate and the pour egg around the bottom, mix, and then serve. Nice presentation but not very flavorful and the plate was so hot it over scrambled the eggs. The sesame chicken was very salty, overly sauced/glazed, and dry. All in all, I'd say pass.
We got a recommendation from our hotel to try this place
We got a recommendation from our hotel to try this place out and it did not disappoint. The food knocked my socks off, I'm talking 5 stars can we go again good. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Coming from me, that's saying a lot. We sat on the sidewalk and enjoyed every single morsel of food delivered to our table piping hot. The problem was the owner kind of hovered at our table while we were eating. It was a little strange but could be taken as him being passionate about his restaurant. I would let him sit In my lap though if I had to, just to enjoy this food again. I highly recommend but maybe get it to go if possible.
Every dish we ordered was delicious.
I liked the poached fish, my cousin liked the onion pancake, and my sister seconded the onion pancake. We also had their poached scallops, house noodles, egg rolls, crispy rice and beef, and a tofu with broccoli dish, as well as the long bean sprout and the happy cucumbers. Even as we were ranking our favorite dishes, we admitted the lowest ranked dish was still high up in the best food we've had. The tea was also delicious. It blooms into a pretty flower and I've had that advertised before but this I could actually see bloom. My cousin's needed an extra round of hot water for his and we teased him about it.
We got the Sesame Chicken and Sizzling Fried Rice.
Ir was delicious. The environment is nice. Perfect day to sit outside.
I was about to give 3 stars, but our server Victor helped
I was about to give 3 stars, but our server Victor helped make our visit much more pleasant. The food was definitely good. Very unique from most chinese restaurants I've tried. Very tasty and delicious! No wonder there was a long line to get in. The issue I had was with one of the other servers who was incredibly rude to my wife. Good service, in my opinion, weighs heavily in determining whether a restaurant is average, good, or really good. Victor apologized on the other server's behalf and took care of us for the rest of our dinner. He was really great and I believe deserves recognition for his good work. If Victor was our only server, I think the place might have deserved 5 stars at least!! 6 stars if possible. I'll definitely try this restaurant again when I come back to Frisco. Hopefully the food will be just as good and Victor is promoted by the time I get back!!
Had their fried rice , noddles and beef .
Great way to introduce fried rice. Will definitely do again.
I came to San Francisco specifically to eat here.
I loooove the food. Everything is so delicious! I will keep coming to San Fran and will def keep coming back here each and every time.
Lovely relaxed meal. See
Lovely food, staff and prices. Been many times and can't really fault it. Half bottle of wine withe the set menu. Free Bailey's with the bill.
Solid restaurant.
Small, family style Chinese. Don't worry if you don't know what you want. Tell them it's your first time and they'll bring out all the good stuff. It came out to about $70 per person including drinks eating this way. A little pricey for Chinese but it's San Francisco....
My husband and I gave this place a try despite the low
My husband and I gave this place a try despite the low rating we saw on Yelp. The restaurant was one of many in Chinatown, and gave all of the visuals and feels of an Asian eatery. The food was delicious, but the service was absolutely awful!! We were confused as to who was our server as there were several different people approaching our table. Each person was very impatient and just overall rude. The menu was not explained to us, and we ordered a chicken dish without knowing it did not come with rice. The entree was just sat onto our table and the server quickly whisked away. We had to "flag down" someone to ask for rice and she seemed to be very annoyed by the request. In summary we felt as though the servers were annoyed by each and every thing we asked for. I observed them doing this at other tables as well. We should have left, but the food was very good. Would I dine here again? Probably not and I would not recommend based on the service alone. It was like eating your favorite meal served to you on the lid of a garbage can.

Spent the weekend in SF and had the most amazing food and experience @houseofnankingsf We are fans of the show on food network and watching chef Peter Fang's love for cooking. Today we got lucky to not only meet chef Peter, we also got to try his amazing food! I mentioned we were fans of the show and he sat us down and asked if we trusted him to choose our menu. OF COURSE WE DID! We had the most amazing experience and the food was 10/10! He came out to check on us with every dish we were served, to make sure we were enjoying the food. If you ever have a chance to try his restaurant I would 100 % recommend!
The famous sesame chicken was overcooked and dry the table
The famous sesame chicken was overcooked and dry the table side fried rice under seasoned and bland. Does not live up to the hype. The small food stalls on Stockton street serve authentic delicious food at a fraction of the cost of House of Nanking.

They need to update the prices on their website as they have significantly gone up. I ordered for take out today and I was wondering if I got charged twice. I went back there later that day just to inquire and one of the staff confirmed that the price on their website is old. The other staff was rude and just told me that everything went up. Probably didn't really care since this place is just a tourist trap.

Amazing food and amazing service.
I was seated at a table immediately. The ambiance is great. I ordered the mogu chicken and the pork dumplings they were both great. totally coming back again. make sure to visit if you are in town.
This ain't your Americanized Chinese Food.
It's pretty at authentic and it's pretty good. The fish soup is delicious but too much for one person. It's enough for 4 people. I learned the hard way. I ordered pork spare ribs (not on the menu) and they were the best pork spare ribs I've ever had! Delicious!
Sizzling Rice soup was delicious.
Pork belly and cabbage was adequate, at best, but very oily. Baby bok choy was extremely sugary and inedible. The beef dish never arrived. We've eaten here 4 times over 30 years but can now say we can't go back. 3 times were excellent but today I would have been happier at Taco Bell. Sad:(
The service was the worst I have ever had.
The waitress was so rude that ruined our food, which was already regular.
Brilliant and great value
We’ve been on a 2 week break at our apartment and have eaten at this restaurant 4 times. Lots to choose from. Fantastic service and so so cheap. Brilliant eatery

Good question. Currently the bidder will have to include the prepaid dinner price plus bid to secure the reservation. AT is currently working on an upcoming release where the prepaid amount and the bid amount are two separate transactions. Happy Bidding!
