Stopped in for an impromptu lunch due to the wrong timing
Stopped in for an impromptu lunch due to the wrong timing for another appointment. I was actually a bit surprised that they could accommodate the two of us as I am aware previously you really had to book the place. During the lockdown they have took the opportunity to refurbish both the café and the deli. Although both we're looking lovely and fresh, it did appear less traditional than it was previously!? My friend did comment that it now looked more French than Italian!? Service was slightly slow to begin with, but in fairness, all staff were dealing with an extremely large order from two delivery vans, plus both deli and cafe customers. After the delivery, excellent, attentive service as I remember, resumed. No point in praising the food or table service. It's always spot on and absolutely delicious. Pricing is exactly where it should be and the tip was both proper and deserving.

Was in the deli today bought some cold meat and foccacia bread and decided stay for lunch. I had choice of breakfast menu or lunchtime 2 to 3 course menu. I opted for lunchtime menu and choose the smorgasbord a pure delight a mix of Italian meats, olives, Italian salad leaves and mozzarella served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar with loads of bread and for next course risotto a la verdure with roasted peppers, courgette and aubergine was nice just a little heavy handed on the salt think chefs hand slipped. Lunch was a bargain was lucky get seat as the place is normally heaving. I highly recommend the deli and bistro. Would been a five due to salty risotto

Celino's is the go to for me whenever I'm craving a carb overload and generally tasty, authentic Italian food. It is a multi award winning deli style restaurant in Alexandra Parade/Dennistoun where you can snag one of the relatively few tables or go straight to the deli counter and choose from a huge selections of Italian meats, cheese, ciabattas or nibbles. Always has a really warm, comfortable atmosphere, which I don't know if this is down to how small the place is, the lovely staff or all the delicious looking Italian treats lining the walls. When I was there for dinner earlier this week (a Monday) it was heaving and only had a couple spare tables but they managed to squeeze us in thankfully, so if you're planning ahead, booking might be a good idea. I always end up going for one of their pasta dishes because they always hits the spot. Last time I went for the Spaghetti Polpette (meatballs) and it was delicious. Really simple tomato based dish but so tasty. Also recommend their arancini (risotto balls), which are massive and absolutely delicious, and the brocolini pasta cooked with white wine and garlic..(slabbers over keyboard). Well priced for such good quality and set menus for lunch offer a good deal. If you're in the area (or even if you're not) highly recommend you get down to this cute little place for an Italian feast.

I went for a dinner with friends yesterday night and OH MY GOD that would so good! I had read positive feedback but honestly didn't expect it to be so great! As soon as you enter on the left there is a small deli which sells cured meats, cheese, any sort of pasta, biscuits, oil, juices etc all 100% Italian, and they also have a small selection of gluten free and bio items. The restaurant is very small and there are no more than maybe 20-30 seats, but the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, like a genuine family owned business. Music was Italian as well, always put a smile on my face.Service was great, staff was very helpful and always making sure we were okay for drinks etc. On Thursday night the pre-theatre menu is available all day, so we decided to go for a two course on that (only £12.95) and order a selection of starters to share among us from the a la carte menu. We got two Antipasto Salumeria for 4 people (we were 5 us of but that was more than enough!) and two Crostini Caprino - everything was delicious and fresh, i was particularly impressed by the last one (toasted bread topped with goat's cheese and caramelized onions) as it was the first time for me trying goat cheese - it is really tasty! From the pre-theatre i got Branzino Acqua Pazza (pan fried sea bass and king prawn cooked with cherry tomatoes in a white wine, lemon and chilli butter sauce, served with herb infused rice) which was amazing, cooked perfectly. For dessert i had Torta Amaretto served with ice cream and cream - nice as well.Overall we were all really satisfied, it is always good to find real authentic Italian restaurant abroad, will definitely come back soon also to try and get something from their deli!

This place is a well known gem in the Denniestoun area, for the service, food quality and interior you would be mistaken that you were in a more central location like the merchant city. I recommend a visit, can get busy and there is no surprise why so book ahead

After reading a few reviews, we decided to have dinner at Celino's and we did not regret it. We were seated immediately upon arrival, the decor was really lovely and the waiters were nice. We had brushetta & calamari for entree which were both delicious. Then we ordered a pizza & pasta which we said we would share and so they had the half & half done for us making it easier for us to eat. The pasta was really nice but the pizza was just average.we'd definitely go back back if we were in the area again, but probably not go out of our way to get there.

Celinos is an all too tempting alternative to cooking. Small, cosy and always bustling, it's a great place for a special occasion. You'll often see large parties in the restaurant. The menu is massive, so look online before you go if you're anything like me and take half an hour to pick. The menu has a selection of pizzas, pastas, calzones, meat dishes, fish, salads and hundreds of amazing desserts (they're famous for them). I always go for some pasta - everything from the carbonara to the prawn linguine is excellent. The portions are massive so I've yet to clear my plate. Ice cream fans will die with happiness at the sundaes available - huge and the variety is impressive. Scottish tablet is particularly good! The only negative is that sometimes a couple of the staff can be very stand-offish, bordering on rude. The last time we went in and asked for a table without a reservation we were looked at like we had committed a terrible sin. They said it was fully booked - no problem! Funnily enough as soo as we said we would go to the Italian over the road a table seemed to magically appear for us. Most of the staff are friendly and like a good bit of banter though. It's a real East end gem. If there's ever a sunny day in Scotland again, it's also lovely to sit outside for breakfast and a coffee.
