Outstanding experience
Everything was excellent. A really nice experience, the food was amazing, especially that Lírio, The wines pairing was also very nice, with very interesting wines, and knowledge Sommelier. The team was very friendly and the space was really cozy.
Be the first to ReplyNot perfect, but still great
Not perfect, but still great We had a lovely meal here during the Christmas holidays. There were twooptions “17 or 11 courses”. We went for the 11 course option and we’re not sure how you could manage 17 as the courses / tastes are quite substantial. The staff were excellent. They serve mill worms as one of the courses. I was fine with that but didn’t enjoy the course (the XO sauce is too heavy). Not all the courses were a hit but it’s still worth a visit.

We ordered the vegetarian tasting menu. We really enjoyed most of the plates, several were excellent while a few were misses for us, in particular the roasted eggplant served with a mealworm/cricket XO style sauce. The service was exceptional, the sommelier recommended an excellent Alentejano red that we enjoyed so much we found a recent vintage at a great wine shop to enjoy later on the trip in our room. The decor was interesting and the elegant presentation consistent with a Michelin star restaurant standard. Recommended but fell a bit short of our expectations.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing and well worth the short hike up the hill
I went to 100 Maneiras on Saturday night, September 17 with a friend. I have been to dozens of Michelin-starred restaurants all over the world. 100 Maneiras was among the best I have ever tried. The food was inventive and extremely flavorful (and the portions were just the right size). The wine parings were creative and worked well with the food (even the one wine I didn’t like but no wine service can please every palate). I ate the vegetarian tasing menu while my friend had “O Canto” (the shorter, but still amazing, omnivore tasting menu). His wine pairings were often different from mine as appropriate for the dishes. The food was what I would call “fun” as well as being innovative. As good as the food and wine was the service. Impeccable. The servers were all personable and not at all pretentious. Their timing with the wine and food was perfect. And the dessert courses seemed endless and were amazing. The Popsicle (yes, it looks like a popsicle) was fun and very tasty. Finally, the setting is perfect. Just the right mix of elegance and personality. Even the background music was perfectly matched in volume and style with the food and wine. Amazing. I highly recommend 100 Maneiras. Should be 2 or even 3 stars in my opinion.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth it
Had dinner last night at 100 maneiras, not worth it for what you pay, service was fantastic very friendly and nice staff, the food we had the short story, I had better in a no Michelin star restaurant , overpriced, the best was the dessert
Be the first to ReplyBeware of non-cancellation policy. They mean it!
First of all, I knew ahead of time that 100 Maneiras would charge 120 euros to your credit card if, after booking, you made any modifications or changes to your reservation or were a no-show. Unfortunately, due to taking an all day on June 9 guided tour to Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais, which ran way late, we rushed back to our hotel and decided to stay in instead of rushing to make our 7:00 p.m. reservation, plus we were exhausted from a day of sightseeing. I had the hotel call the restaurant to cancel our reservation, knowing that I would probably have to pay the charges for not making the reservation. When I received my credit card statement, there was a charge for $129 for La Fourchette restaurant in Paris on June 10. I disputed the charge, as I was at another restaurant in Lisbon on that date. I later discovered that La Fourchette and 100 Maneiras are connected, hence the misunderstanding by its listing on my credit card. I was disappointed that the restaurant gave no leeway considering the circumstances, plus very few customers eat that early anywhere in Europe. Bottom line: Make sure you keep your reservation... or pay the consequences. Literally!

This place was amazing! We like to have a treat to look forward to when we go away and this looked like an interesting choice from the website. Out of all the Michelin restaurants we've been to, this is probably my favourite. The team were super friendly throughout, from the kitchen to the front of house team. At first we were a little confused by their uniforms, but the team are all great. During service we had lots of positive interactions with many different members of the team, and all were friendly and were able to converse and joke with us in English. The food was exceptional. We plumped for the 17 courses and we were glad we did, the food was excellent. A great many of the dishes were "hands on" so almost felt interactive and made the dining experience unique. The story behind the experience was nice to know and the staff spent a good amount of time explaining the dishes to us. As I say the food was excellent and at the end of the meal we were pleasantly full.
Be the first to ReplyQuirky, Tasty, Birkenstocks
Our meal was weird, fun, delicious, and unexpected. Creativity in food preparation and preservation was what we got from the start. And they all wear Birkenstocks. I had to ask why but won’t spoil it.

Amazing! Absolutely amazing! The location, the service and of course the food! The story behind the tasting menu was perfect! The contributions including the head chefs mothers homemade bread and his friends butchers bones. Honestly, I would go as far to say that it was the best meal I have ever had. I am also a vegetarian and they catered for me in such excellent fashion. I had all the same things as my partner, but with very slight twists! I am not one to normally comment on such review sights, but in this case, I had too. We have a fantastic evening, one to remember. Thank you x
Be the first to ReplyBest pricing we ever had at MichelinStar restaurant
Visiting a Michelin Star restaurant everywhere we go this was an amazing dinner. We just took the ‚SMALL‘ 11 course menu after visiting Lissabon the whole day. It was quite enough to be very satisfied. The wines which come with the single course are Portuguese and very interesting. Not every wine we would recommend for a cosy evening at the terrace but totally matching the course. Because we know normal pricing of Michelin Star restaurants all over Europe (also 2 or 3 Star restaurants) we were really surprised about the ‚LowCostBudget‘ of this amazing dinner. It was really more worth than the bill we paid. highly recommended from our side
Be the first to ReplyThis dinner is a ballet and live art installation in one.
We went to 100 Maneeiras last night having been about 8 years before when it was a little less known restaurant down a side street in the Bairro Alto. Nuno who confirmed our reservation was interested to see what we thought of the new restaurant....we were blown away by the food and service. The restaurant is beautiful, a fairly dark space with only four tables in the area in which we were seated. The service started immediately with the pouring of water from a chicken's mouth (which was a little disturbing at first but we soon got used to it) and the laying of the table for the first course. We were offered either 11 or 17 courses and as we are always up for a food challenge and terribly aware of FOMO, we opted for all of them. We chose a lovely Portuguese "Champagne method" sparking wine to accompany dinner which was reasonable priced and did not disappoint. The wine list has many options in around the 50 Euro mark which is nice at a restaurant of this calibre. So on to the food.....Mama Rosa the mother of the chef who is from Bosnia, was apparently the baker of the beautiful bread which made up the first course. Served with many little accompanying dips in a Bosnian style metal dish, the course was delicious and set the tone for the meal. We knew something special was coming. The menu tells the story of the chef's life from refugee to master Michelen starred chef, in an abundance of food and fabulous tastes. The entire meal was like a ballet- the servers, led by our main server/dancer Diogo, were without fault, never a step out of place in the corp de ballet and Diogo was always entertaining, at times funny and at others full of information about the food, Lisbon, the chef, wine, etc. We were told ahead of time that the 17 courses would take 3-3.5 hours which was true. We arrived at 7pm and left close to 11pm. It was not just dinner but an evening of surprises and entertainment. One word of warning for diners- many of the courses are eaten with one's hands so if this is your first date and need to impress, think carefully although taking a date here would impress just in the choice of restaurant so maybe you'll be off to a good start :) Each course was incredible. We particularly loved the asparagus soup (which had to be "eaten" out of a long silver bowl and sort of poured into the mouth), the salad eaten with hands which was a teeny cob lettuce with anchovies and parmesan cheese, sort of a deconstructed caesar, and the tacos which were the main course served with "poison"- to not ruin your fun, just go and see for yourselves! I dont want to be too effusive as it seems as though this review is just gushy but we have eaten at many Michelen starred restaurants over the years and this is just quite frankly the best meal we have eaten. Each utensil, plate, wine glass, morsel of food is thought out and presented with care and obvious attention from head chef, sous chefs and service team. We felt very welcomed and that the meal was focused on us and our enjoyment. This is in direct contrast to our dinner in Paris two nights before also at a Michelin restaurant where the attention was on the chef to the detriment of the diners. Well done to the team at 100 Maneiras- you have the recipe for an incredible dining experience. This is of course not a cheap dinner but as with most things in life you get what you pay for and in this case, it is excellence all round. You've come a long way since the days of the little clothes pegs that were used years ago but thanks to those little pegs I was able to find this gem of a restaurant again.
Be the first to ReplyUnique dining experience.
Tremendous service with great food and wine pairings. Food was unique and the wine pairings perfect with each course. Staff did a great job explaining each course and how the food was prepared.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst experience of our 14-day trip
NEVER GO HERE. Horrible food poisoning. Incredibly rude staff. Spoke with Management to address the food poisoning situation , and they refused to issue a refund. Completely disappointed by the meal itself. Overall, the worst experience of our two-week vacation.

Book a table before reading the review. Get on a flight and get to this resturant. Do what ever you need to do to get here and taste this food.
This is probably the (second) best resurant we have had the pleasure to experiance (Kadau in Copenhagen is still No 1 in our books!)
the food is out of this world good. Taste combinations are are just so amazing they are genius. it is on a level of culinary excelence that we have not seen in a very (very) long time.
Ignore the michelin raing, this is a superb, world class resturant and experiance.
Some tips :
Book an early table if you plan to eat the full tasting menu (it has many, many courses and takes a while).
Do not be teampted to skip a course. You will regret it
Some flavour combinations are compleatly uniqiue
The most overrated restaurant
Of our two weeks travel in Portugal, this was the worst and the most overrated. Although the bread and the snacks were good, all the other dishes of the tasting menu were terrible. All were salty. Like the Hamachi, the black ink sauce was so salty that we could not taste the fish. The seabass was way over cooked. Despite the price of the tasting menu, none of the ingredients were expensive.
Be the first to ReplySuper slow service
Yes, the food is good and the staff is nice, but what is the point if after FOUR hours the meal is still not finished?
We were offered the choice between 11 or 17 courses, and when we asked the staff how long the 17-course menu would take, the answer was 3 hours. We mentioned this was a bit too long, so we opted for the 11 courses.
We get our bread pretty fast, but then for one whole hour nothing happens. We are also frequently left with empty glasses because the sommelier is nowhere to be seen.
After 1 hour, the meal finally starts but everything still super slow. We started our dinner at 7.30pm and by 11.30pm it is still not done. Tired and frustrated we ask for the bill. We will never return.
Top Restaurant of our 8 day trip!
We can not stop talking about what an amazing experience we had here. Table in front room so we could sit caddy corner and both see the kitchen (there was another great table 1/2 way back, small round for 2, I recommend either of them). Staff and food were both beyond fabulous. Creative, unusual, both dishes and staff were fun, which we really enjoyed. We were there for 5.5 hours, 17 courses, too much fabulous wine, and I would do it again without hesitation. One item to be aware of, bathrooms are downstairs. Thanks so much to the team who gave us such a memorable night.

What a fun, creative restaurant. It’s small but comfortable, well decorated, and in a somewhat difficult to access location as no cars are allowed on the street it fronts. But it’s worth it to make the trip to find it.
Both the tasting and wine pairing were wonderful. The cutlery, plating and presentation of each course was beautiful and imaginative. Food was really good, although one of the mains (tacos) was not up to the others--too greasy for me. The bread, done by the chef’s mother, is to die for, and it’s presentation is terrific. Don’t miss this one if you’re in Lisbon.
