Ambience vs. value !
this place is VERY nice , service was great, food was good but VERY expensive for what you got . started out with drinks , wine by the glass or bottle , beer very limited choices . we tried the burrata with roasted peppers ,very good , we had lobster rolls , just ok , i had beef sandwich , very good . 2 orders of french fries for over 20 dollars ! enough said about that . Summary , very nice place with average to good very expensive food and drink.
Be the first to ReplyGo During Summer Sunset
You come here for the ambiance and elegance, not the food, (sorry). Great ambience, attentive service, beautiful decor and sunset views (if you're lucky to be there during sunset). Food: A bit underwhelming! Hopefully they start putting as much effort in the decor as they do into the quality of food. The place is very beautiful though. We ordered Burrata, Caesar salad RH burger, Broiled Salmon, truffled fries. Everything was alright, not the best, especially not for the price point. Dietary restrictions: The server specifically asks about allergies. Mention it if you have any restrictions. Parking: There is plenty of free parking available right out front. This is not a kid-friendly place. I do recommend for the ambiance, posh vibe, which is why I rated it 4/5, because it delivers on that and service.
Be the first to ReplyExciting discovery
Hidden gem, with some surprisingly good food (perfect cuisson of the rib eye!), some great wines (loved the burgundy of Francois Labet), good service and entertaining server. Sure to visit again at a next visit.
Be the first to ReplyFood quality is underwhelming!
They can put more effort into the quality of food to match the beautiful ambience. The food was underwhelming! The quality of prosciutto at CUB is likely better than what we got served for a high end restaurant. The place is very beautiful though.

Amazing meal for my daughter's birthday with her friends. We ordered appetizers and I had the roasted chicken. The garlic potatoes that came with it were delicious. I am now craving it!
Be the first to ReplyVery cool place
My first time there and it won't be the last. Good service, we had drinks and sat outside enjoying the view. We decided that next time, we're coming for lunch.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, Service needs work
Been here many times and loved it. However, this last time lacked service. The food was great, got the salmon that was seasoned excellent, as well as the lobster roll, which was delicious although cold, we have gotten it before and it was warm. Highly recommend these dishes. Had two cold dishes but they were busy so itโs completely understandable. Our waiter was where things went downhill. From off the bat, I had asked if they had any house lemonades, she then read off options of other beverages, then I asked so no? She then said, โwhat I read off we haveโ. Not a great response but okay. We had gotten a dish for the table and when she was picking up our dishes seemed very stern and forceful with us. When the food came out I was wanting some ketchup for the fries we had ordered, but she never checked up on our table, never a โHowโs the food? Can I get you anything else?โ As well as my partner's water was never refilled along with mine. She looked after other tables way more than ours and seemed as if we were being avoided. We have had many great experiences here, just this one wasnโt the best.
Be the first to ReplyLovely rooftop setting but overly expensive restaurant
We wanted to try the Restoration Hardware Rooftop Restaurant. It is very upscale with lovely surroundings - chandeliers, greenery, and a fountain. It was very noisy when we went there for lunch. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The sofa style seating could use pillows, since it is so deep that you cannot lean back. The food was delicious and the service was good. However $22 for a hamburger and another $10 for fries and $20 for grilled cheese seemed like steep prices.
Be the first to ReplyLovely ambience and good lunch food
It's rather odd- a rooftop restaurant on top of a very fancy, if tacky, furniture store in a Mall. But the space was lovely - a quiet airy greenhouse with good spacing between tables. I had a modern salad-like thing for lunch, pretty standard for a fancy place, and a wonderful conversation. I didn't pay and so was insensitive to price. I'd go back if I didn't have to pay.
Be the first to ReplyWanted to love it
Went in knowing the prices were possibly the highest of any restaurant in MN. Wanted to know if it was worth it.
Pros: charming alluring atmosphere w twinkling lights, marble tables, velvet booths and an indoor French garden vibe. Host and server were friendly. The tomatoes and mozzarella on the bruschetta was excellent. Salmon was perfectly cooked. Lobster roll wasnโt overly doused in mayo.
Cons: No full bar. Wine glasses start at $17, the Bellini was disappointing, no beer on tap. Server kept trying to clear our plates before we were done. And for how little you get, we wanted to eat every scrap! Bruschetta bread was burnt, wish server had mentioned that the shrimp app only had 6 shrimps (there were 4 of us), truffle fries were ok but not worth $18, lobster roll was tiny, and the salmon was literally just a piece of salmon. No rice or greens or anything to balance with it. I mean it looked like a plate you might get at Ikea but Iโm expecting a little more for $32!
Tip: make reservations for 4 even its only 2 of you or you may get sat at one of their teeny European size tables that appear to have just been squeezed in between things to fit a few more.
Overall: We love RH but wonโt be back for dinner. If your determined to try it, go for lunch and split a burger n fries, or go for an appetizer and finish with dinner at Crave or Cov across the street.
Awful. Just awful.
I never, ever write bad reviews, and if this were a mom and pop operation I wouldn't.
I went with a party of five. Haven't checked with everyone yet, but three of us agree that this was the most utterly disappointing restaurant experience we've ever had. RH Rooftop is like a Midtown Manhattan tourist trap without anything to even walk out and see after your meal. I read some of the reviews, and thought it might be overpriced, but a lovely experience overall (and I'm fine with paying up for a nice evening out).
1) Food: Really bad, and ugly to boot. ZERO thought to presentation. They want you to purchase side dishes, but to put a small piece of naked, overcooked salmon on a huge white plate with nary a garnish? Burger was similarly well-done and hideously presented. And BTW, we ordered the salmon "lightly seared, please don't over cook" and a medium rare burger.
Kale ceaser was mushy. Fried artichokes were overfried to the point of bitter carbonization.
The other items (truffle fries, lobster roll, green salad with shrimp, shaved beef sandwich, regular fries) were fine, but waaaaaaay overpriced for the quality. Any local bistro would be 100X better. My husband left hungry (he of the wee slice of farm-raised salmon) and ate a meal when we got home.
2) Service: The waiter upsold us a $33 GLASS of wine ("You don't like oaky wines? We have something really nice that isn't oaky... should I bring that instead?"), the cost of which was a surprise when we got the bill. Other than that, service was OK. The people I talked to on the phone about the reservation were very helpful and nice.
3) Ambience: My husband and I have opposing views on this. He thought the ambiance was great - the only saving grace of the evening. The ambience was not my taste - to me, it evoked New Jersey Italian, with Roman statues and chandeliers and fountain and bling (read: tacky). That, I realize, is a personal preference and I may have found it fun if not for everything else.
The other person we debriefed after the meal thought the decor was trying way too hard to be "fancy," but she didn't find it gross like I did.
I'm not sure if we came on a horrible night, if RH is aggressively goosing online reviews, or if people honestly have never eaten at a similarly pricey - albeit good - restaurant before. I'm also not sure if their other locations are this bad. I think part of my disgust comes from a nagging feeling of being taken advantage of, like, "Hey, these Midwesterners are all a bunch of rubes! Watch them pay out the nose for whatever we throw at them! They'll love it and ask for more! heh heh!"
Magical ethereal dining
Beautiful rooftop restaurant for a special occasion. Beautiful lighting trees ( faux) with a menu vegetarians And carnivores could find delectable. Pricey, but thatโs because of the beautiful space . Seems like hamburgers and fries were the most ordered item as we looked around.
We had the cheese plate, and crispy artichokes and kale Cesar salad with water. ( drinks were too pricey for me).
All the food was delicious.
A little taken aback by servers not wearing masks.
Special
Prices out of this World - This isn't Manhattan !
No Liquor, Just Beer and Wine. Limited Menu with exorbitant prices. For a Furniture store, the seating is very poor. About as comfortable as your average McDonalds. The real show stopper here are the Prices. A $20 Burger... Oh, you want fries with that? Cough up another $10.... Glass of wine? $20 is a Cheap one. French Dip $28. Everything Ala Carte. I'll be shocked if they stay in business for another year.... Maybe they're subsidized by the Furniture business? I will not be returning to this place ever!
Be the first to ReplyA spectacular rooftop but the prices will take your breath away!
I was totally impressed by everything about RH until I looked at the menu. Goodness! The selections are minimal and the prices absurd.
$20 for an ordinary glass of wine? Not in Minnesota!
You really need to experience this venue to appreciate the elegance. It is masterfully done.
The service is impeccable.
The food and drink is dramatically overpriced but the quality is very good.
I would recommend you give it one try.
Go for the view not the food
I came here for my birthday and really wanted to love this place, but I left disappointed. This might sound picky, but first of all the bushes outside RH are dead! That does not make a good first impression. The rooftop restaurant is lovely, but the menu is very limited and extremely pricey. If you want great food at a fair price this restaurant is definitely not for you. If you want a lovely atmosphere and are willing to pay for it this is your place. I would recommend ordering a beer and an appetizer and enjoying a sunset!
Be the first to ReplyLots of glitz but the Food is Miss
Glistening chandeliers, classy white roof top restaurant with all the ambience but that is where it ends. Went with friends for brunch. Waitress was very stiff and when asked her favorite suggested the avocado toast or the scramble. The scramble was horrible. Came cold and it was suppose to be a creamy consistency but it was more wet than creamy. Most ordered a burger which was good but at $20 a burger no fries. Too expensive and the quality is lacking. Go for drinks and the view not the food.
