Stopped for a spontaneous cocktail (okay - maybe two) with a friend. Sat at the bar. Polite service from the bartender and we ordered two Paper Planes with Reposada tequila instead of bourbon. He held up the Casamigos bottle and we said "yes". Cocktails were tasty and well made but it seems like he should have mentioned the $10 per cocktail up-charge, right? Normal menu price for a Paper Plane is $19. Final price with $20 tip $138 for four drinks. Buyer beware.

... We were seated at a beautiful table and halfway through our meal a massive cockroach crawled across the table. We alerted a host who didn't immediately get the manager (he seemed unsure of what to do and who can blame him), and then once a second roach was spotted on the wall, we begged for the manager so we could at least settle the bill / tip our waiter and leave immediately. We didn't want to stay there for a second longer. They asked if we wanted to move to another table (we of course said no we're getting the hell out of here we don't want to touch any more food here) and the manager comped the meal (we had appetizers and one round of drinks at that point and were waiting for entrees) which was very nice of him but we were all so freaked out and grossed out we didn't care and just wanted to leave. As we were finally leaving a third cockroach was spotted crawling on the ceiling above our table. We were in the side room and everyone in there was in complete shock / some girls who just walked in even took pictures of the massive roaches because it was so insane. The manager handed me the resturaunt card (idk why) and apologized profusely and said they would be happy to have us back any time. Nice gesture but of course will not be returning. I've been living in NYC for a while, and while of course roaches come with the territory...I have NEVER experienced something like this in a dining situation. I'm sure it was a one off issue as the very nice hostess said she was so surprised since they are typically freakishly clean...probably was a crack in the wall or they recently sprayed and they came out to play. Either way, it was really crazy and gross, especially for a nice and expensive restaurant in the West Village. Especially upsetting as I had visitors in town and we were having a fun night out that was quickly ruined by this situation. Safe to say I will never be returning, which is too bad because the restaurant is beautiful and the food we had was pretty good.
Be the first to ReplyIt's embarrassing how bad this place is.
We had a reservation on a Friday night. Forty minutes later, we still hadn't been seated. They claimed the table just wouldn't get up and they had no other table for four in the restaurant. I ended up having to leave after 45 minutes of not being seated. Do not go here.

Very loud restaurant, food is so mediocre and ambiance is ok-ish. Service was good though starting from managers finishing with busboys.

Gotta start off with some appreciation for the fact that this place didn't kick me out after my homegirl was 45 minutes late to our res, and nor did the bartender made me feel judged for sitting looking like I got stood up while I crushed 2 cosmos by myself lmao. Food was expensive as hell and honestly so mid, even 2 drinks deep. The amberjack crudo was meh, the salad was forgettable, and the lemon pasta was way too lemony. Tbh some of the worst pasta I've had in NYC. Vibes were good though, place was bumpin'. Also I'm mad as hell that the bartender originally gave me a bill only charging me for 2 drinks then corrected it (crushed a 3rd cosmo when my homegirl eventually showed up, felt that this morning) LMAOOO I really was hyped for a few seconds when I saw that first bill. But she made a solid drink so I'll forgive her.
Be the first to ReplyThe service here is excellent, only second to the food.
I highly suggest the meatballs, calamari, and caesar salad to start. The fussili pasta is delicious and the right amount of spice. It's also BYOB as well, so that is so nice or you can get cocktails from the bar.

Saint theos is a cute spot with good service, but the food wasn't incredible for the price. Our server was extremely friendly and offered us lattes as soon as we sat down (which we mostly accepted because we were confused about what he was asking). While the lattes were good, when we got the bill we learned they were $7 and pretty small. We ordered the Mezzaluna appetizer to start which was the best thing we ate - the bread was a delicious focaccia and the eggplant spread was delicious. We then each had different entrees, I had the mozzarella in carozzo and my friends had the ricotta gemelli and lemon linguini. All were fine but nothing incredible. For the price, I would've expected more exciting flavors. All in all Saint Theo's was a good experience, but we probably won't be back here
Be the first to ReplyThis spot is awesome.
Everyone there is good looking, including me. The food was great, we didn't drink, the service was fast. Really cool spot that I could I'll come back to some day. Very vibey

Went here for coffee/brunch today & was happy to get in as it was Sunday afternoon in West Village. We were initially seated at a table but decided to move to the bar (both of which were comfortable in terms of seating, but there were fewer people at the bar so it was easier for my friend and I to catch up). The bar is done up in terrazzo speckle! I got an iced latte, they have whole milk & 2 dairy-free options incl. oat milk. My friend ordered a black drip coffee & an espresso. He also ordered food: fries ($12) & the "Full Italian" ($35). I tried the fries which were quite tasty as they had parmesan + black pepper on them. The Full Italian comes with fennel sausage, sunny side egg, cannellini beans, tomato, Calabrian potato, and grilled sourdough. Being as my friend is Italian, I of course wanted to get his thoughts for my review: This is where I'd come to cheat when I periodically try a no-carb diet. The fries are the type where I eat one at a time. I walked in hungry and left feeling very satisfied, but not at all bloated. The ingredients in the food were of very high quality, and there were 6 different food items on my plate (Full Italian), but the flavors of each were distinct. The portion sizes are adequate - not small, but not overly generous, but I did not have to eat a lot to feel like I was eating a lot. The flavor of each item was zesty and lively; the food felt hearty. Eggs had good consistency, hardly runny. The sourdough tasted good dry (no topping); perhaps because it was grilled vs. toasted I felt like I was eating more than just bread. The tomatoes pleasantly burst in my mouth, and while the sausage wasn't anything amazing, it sure did taste good - and it had an illusion of being healthy. The beans were kind of just beans, but they tasted fine and I ate them all. The potatoes were the star of the show - they were the zestiest and liveliest on the plate. The fries were probably good enough to justify $12 almost anywhere. Some of the $35 for the Full Italian felt like it was paying for the ambiance. All of the food was high quality, and there was enough of it, but there wasn't any steak or salmon or any key ingredients with a naturally high price tag. I'd expect to pay $30 or less for the same plate of food at a less fancy restaurant. For an upscale brunch experience, it checks all the boxes. As someone who doesn't have a sophisticated palate, I like to shovel food into my mouth, but the flavors were exquisite enough to make me want to eat slowly (I said exquisite enough on purpose. Exquisite by itself is too strong of a word for their food. It wasn't that good, just exquisite enough). The staff was friendly, attentive, and very polite, and by sitting at the bar we had privacy to talk. There are two nice bathrooms (gender-neutral); the first unisex restroom has a photo of a topless woman (JFYI)! Since we love specifics, the bathroom pic deets are: Eva Herzigová / Pirelli Calendar 1998 / ph. Bruce Weber. Vibe - it's a stylish space with an ode to Italian modernism indeed and the aesthetics are on point, which I noticed through the colors (notably canary and emerald with bronze accents), unique typography, and nostalgic interior décor that seemed like vintage calendars/posters. Think: Studio 54 turned chic Italian restaurant - fun & enjoyment, bringing fabulousness back to dinner (& brunch!). The diverse menu is heavily Italy-inspired, translated in a modern way through playfulness. I'm happy I finally got to try it since I live around the corner & always see liveliness buzzing around in the evenings! If going for dinner, make a reservation in advance to ensure a table. I'll be going back so I can experience the dinner atmosphere. Fun facts: they sell merch online which seems to be popular since there's a $60 hoodie that's currently sold out. Manolo Blahnik had a launch dinner there for the archival debut. MatchesFashion has hosted an event there during fashion week. There's a secret "Venice Bar" behind the restaurant; a newer, 20-seat, Venetian-inspired cocktail bar hidden behind plush velvet burgundy curtains by the restaurant dining room where one can order drinks and "Cicchetti" (traditional Venetian small bites) by crimson-colored banquets, vintage Pirelli calendars, a big Maitland Smith mirror, and Murano sconces that come straight from the Italian town. The original inspiration behind Saint Theo's was born from the idea of Cicchetti with cocktails in a classic Venetian lounge. Both spaces were developed from that core vision of your most memorable vacation to Venice. Before opening, the team traveled to Venice, during the Festa del Redentore (Feast of the Redeemer), an annual fireworks event to celebrate the end of the plague in Europe. The beverage program is led by head bartender Kyle Sheridan and is dedicated to the art of both the Italian aperitivo and digestivo.

We had dinner here last night and it was super! The staff are great-shout out to Jamie! Our drinks were delicious (get the dirty spritz!). We started the meal with the calamari. Then had the stracciatella which is truly not to be missed! I had the lemony pastas which was great and had a strong lemony flavor my friend had the fennel sausage pasta. All in all a great dinner! The place bets packed so make reservations!!

I had a reservation here and needed to add one person onto the reservation and tried to call several times but was redirected back to Resy. I couldn't add a person on Resy so I added in the notes section that we would be having one more. We got there and they could not accommodate us at that time so they asked us to wait. After waiting we were told it was because the table next to our original table was being difficult and wouldn't leave after paying their check. We were sat outside which was not heated. After being seated we were served plain cups of hot water without explanation. I'm assuming this was to counteract the lack of a heater? Please keep in mind we couldn't cancel the reservation with out being charged $50 per person because it was within the 24 hour time limit.

Had reservations which apparently was for outside (not indicated when booking) and they refused to even accommodate the bar. Extremely expensive ($72 for a chicken entree!!) and totally not worth it. Hostess was extremely rude and uncooperative.
Be the first to ReplyLove this place.
The vibe was very upbeat for a Wednesday night. Service was unbelievable. Never felt ignored and I swear they could read my mind. We started with the fennel salad. Was plenty to split between the two of us. Full of greens, fennel and the most flavourful Parmesan. I ordered the tuna crudo. The only thing I was a little disappointed with. Found it a little bland, dry and no flavour. Also, I thought it should come with a side if crackers or something to eat it with. Ordered the cherry tomato pasta. It was excellent. Lots of sauce, pasta was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back for more pasta and that amazing bread.

Be the first to ReplySaint Theo's is a restaurant that I had heard of last year
Saint Theo's is a restaurant that I had heard of last year on social media. I hate to say for me it doesn't live up to the hype. The food was good albeit for the price it felt lacking. The ambiance is upscale and the interior has a feeling of old New York which I loved. However, my favorite takeaway from a restaurant should not be the interior. The service was great and she was kind enough to inform us that they are no longer open for lunch even though the website says it's available. My chicken milanese was great but in an area like the West Village where competition is fierce for dining especially Italian dining it doesn't quite meet the bar. I also would have liked the ability to add a starch as a side other than a pasta perhaps a fingerling potato, mashed potato, or fries? I hope they improve.
Be the first to ReplyReally wanted to love this place.
The ambiance and vibe is great and the drinks were good. But the food was terrible. The service was rushed. When we asked if the server could recommend something he was like um everything is different can't recommend anything. Not one item that we tried we liked. We even had to send something back. The pasta was cold and fishy. Maybe it was an off night. But I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I'm still confused about where the sea bass was in my sea bass linguine. Everything was fine, nothing was great. Noise level to high to have a conversation. Good thing service was quick because the noise level was over the top.
Be the first to ReplyWent to Saint Theo's for the first time today for lunch.
Great ambiance, service, and food. We were promptly greeted for our reservation and sat towards the left back corner of the restaurant. Everyone attending to us were very kind, knowledgeable and friendly. We each got coffees. Really enjoyed my oat milk latte. I ordered the pesto pasta and it was delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the pesto sauce was so smooth it was almost like a cream. And the crispy basil was a great texture variation. We arrived around 12:30 and when we left closer to 2pm the place was packed! And rightfully so. Looking forward to going back again very soon.
Be the first to ReplyVery cozy yet upscale spot in prime West Village.
The hype around Saint Theo's lies with their famous ricotta and chili oil pasta, which is only available on Mondays and Tuesdays, FYI! You will not find it on any menu as it is considered a "special" both nights. My friend and I came here on a Tuesday at 6:30pm, and the place was packed! I definitely recommend getting a reservation vs. trying to walk in, especially on the ricotta nights. Service felt a bit like they were rushing us at first- the second our glass of wine came he asked if we were ready to order food before we had even taken a sip- but it improved over the course of the meal. Our waiter recommended we start with the cicchetti section, which is basically a variety of breaded balls of various fillings. We started with the polpette as an appetizer, and each cicchetti comes with 3 balls. The polpette was the closest version to a meatball listed in this section, and it was honestly one of the best bites of food I've ever had. WOW! Highly recommend. They also provided us complimentary pickles/cucumbers which were such a delight. Now, to the main star- the ricotta pasta. The chili oil is very spicy, but it comes in a carafe on the side, so you can make your pasta as spicy or not spicy as you would like. I've seen other reviews bash the pasta as an adult Mac n cheese (which it is), but what's wrong with that? It definitely wasn't the best pasta I've had in the city, but it's a great comfort food menu item. I would get it again shared between 2 people with a different main so I can try other things on the menu.Overall, I will be back!
Be the first to ReplyOverrated is the best way to describe it.
Nothing was great, except the ambiance. Food is mediocre at best, we had a salad which was literally leaves and vinegar, we couldn't even eat it. The pesto pasta was dry and flavorless, and the fish was ok but as plain as can be. Cocktails were the best thing on the menu so if you MUST go, grab a drink at the bar eat somewhere better.
Be the first to ReplySo the vibe is pretty great.
I really love the romantic/retro vibe of the restaurant. The only thing I wish is that there were more diversity in their pastas. We only had a few (I think 5) to choose from. Their bread is really good to start off with. We had their stracciatella which is like burrata to start off with too. Probably should've done something else since the bread and olive oil was filling enough. The pesto pasta was okay- I really hated how they put full basil leaves in the pasta with the stems and all. It really did nothing and had to put it aside since they were dried leaves. Probably would've been better as a garnish. The ricotta pasta they had which was one of their specials and not on the menu was pretty good. It came with a chili oil which was a bit too spicy for us.Lastly, the cherry tomato spaghetti was yummy. My friend definitely loved it. Next time I come here I'll probably order this as well. It's definitely worth checking out. The vibe is great!

Ambiance & decor is top notch! Came here for a Christie's event & wanted to try the food after. Service is attentive. The Saint Theo cocktail is delish, the food is good but a bit overpriced for the flavor palates in my humble opinion. The bread & eggplant dip really hits the spot. Got the risotto, tuna, salad & mozzarella fried. Would come back for the drinks, & decor for sure.

You definitely come to Saint Theo's for the ambience, the food was great but definitely a little bit on the pricier side. The dining room was great and the service was OK, it could have been better. This place is definitely an experience and you definitely want to come here but just expect the pricey pinpoint and OK service but a great atmosphere.
