Nice atmosphere
Restaurant with nice atmosphere. Good selection of different type of dishes. Quality, in my opinion, is good enought but a bit pricy.

Food was delicious. Service was attentive, from the hostess, to the bartender, to the wait staff. Very nice ambience as well. Would hardly recommend making reservations well ahead of time. We tried the day before and it was all booked. For a Monday night! Luckily they do take walk ins. Just be prepared to wait. They told us an hour. We were seated in 40โ. Worth the wait.

Great food, lots of choices. Very attentive servers. Restaurant seems to always be busy so make a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyStop at Shuka!! Lebanese at its best!
OMG!! The flavors were amazing! Each thing we ordered was more amazing than the last! The kebabs were freaking amazing (chicken in particular), the whipped feta and pistachios (could not stop eating), and the asparagus was so fresh and I canโt stop about the fries l! And the Empire State Building in view!!

Relaxed pretty space. Good service. All our dishes were very good, nothing fancy. For a casual lunch in SoHo, this is an excellent choice.

Cool/ buzzy spot. Food was good/ interesting. All the food comes out at once (which was challenging given that there were two of us sitting at the barโฆ. Plus 5 plates and drinksโฆ.๐ฉ

Be the first to ReplyDIA: Extraordinary service and attention at Sulka.
DIA: Phenomenal Service and attention. My lady and I visited this very lively and frenetic Mediterranean restaurant for the first time due to its inviting menu and location. The restaurant was overflowing with people and conversation in this attractive, large and spacious restaurant. Despite all the loud background noise and activity our Moroccan waitress, Dia, provided the careful attention and gracious service one rarely finds these days. She was knowledgeable about the menu, and the food, as well as the wines, and provided extraordinarily prompt, gracious and attentive service. In addition the waiter, who poured our wine, knew precisely where and how to stand on the proper side of the customer to provide a welcome experience in high class service. My companion and I found it amazing that they were able to provide such singular attention to us despite the extremely busy Friday night we had chosen to visit. The mean was also excellent and the wines both different and delicious. Great job and thanks to DIA and the wonderful management of this delightful Mediterranean restaurant. We will most certainly return.

We hosted a birthday dinner party for 7 of our friends and what a wonderful evening it was!!! Brinley, the assistant manager was beyond helpful in assisting us with setting up our party. The food was spectacular! We had the Shuka Feast! It was so much food and everything was delicious! The fried halloumi was beyond! All the dips were delish! Kebabs were great! Pita was perfect! It was a perfect evening!!!Thanks so much for a memorable evening!
Be the first to ReplyDecent food, lousy service
We went for dinner on a Sunday night, with an 8pm reservation. Between a table not being ready at our reserved time and extraordinarily slow service, we did not receive our first food until 9pm. Reservation issue handled poorly. We arrived on-time. After a few seconds of hushed giggling between them, the hostesses told us a table wasn't ready and to get drinks (not on the house) at the bar, which was a joke, because it was packed with diners and impossible to get a bartender's attention. We were seated a half-hour late, at a dim table in the back corner. Our server took several minutes to appear and then asked us only about water and disappeared. Placing an order took 25 minutes. Insane. This sort of service took place the whole night. Our server was nice, but often absent and clueless. Wine was served incorrectly. The food was fine. Elevated Mediterranean. Good, not amazing. Highlights were the dips and fried halloumi. Was the food worth $100+/person (with wine)? No, particularly when paired with a long wait, poorly managed reservation, and lousy service.

Loved the cocktails and the food was delicious! Super flavorful, so many amazing things to try. Highly recommend if you enjoy small plate meals and sharing tapas with others!

Very cozy with creative and delicious food. The feta pistachio dip was amazing, and so were the fried halloumi and the mushroom appetizer. The chicken shawarma was very tasty but on the small side and it was served over bread which was chewy. The service was excellent. I am sorry I forgot the name of our server but he was greatโoverall very positive experience.

We stopped in here fairly last minute and we were really surprised that they were able to accommodate us. Shuka is always one of those places I always like to come to when I'm craving different items. This is definitely a good restaurant to come with family or friends and the concept is really to share all your plates so everyone gets a chance to try everything. As a vegetarian I really enjoy their menu because there are so many options. I do wish they had an option for a veggie kebab option but honestly there were plenty of other options as well. I also love that they are constantly changing their menu so I never get tired of the options. Most of the food was well seasoned and all the sauces complimented it well. My 2 favorites were the pistachio dip and the crispy cauliflower. They were unique and tasted really good. The ambiance is also great and matches the theme of the food.

Excellent middle Eastern cuisine. We had the Kabobs, and all were cooked to perfection and delicious. A few appetizers and the excellent bread. We lucked out and had a fantastic waiter, who was helpful and entertaining. Oh, and the ice cream desert he recommended was amazing

Great choices for vegetarians. Everything was delicious and the service as attentive. Kale salad and fried halloumi were stand outs.

Fantastic! Great place - awesome service, food and superb atmosphere. We sat outside and the experience was great. I am an vegetarian and was able to find many options satisfying my palette. I had a great dinner with friends. We had fafalel, Zaatar fries, Market vegetables and few other. Delicious food.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome sharing menu
We got the Shukla feast sharing menu between 4 and it was AWESOME. Good amount of food and some leftovers even thought we were all full. There were 2 vegetarians and we got the roasted cabbage and cauliflower as the kebabs (as recommended in place of the falafel by the waiter) and it was awesome. The staff member was lovely and honest about recommendations. Easy to split bill
Be the first to ReplyVery good!
Very good food and very friendly and professional staff: despite the fact that the restaurant was full, the service was quick. Lovely location. Average prices.
Be the first to Replysome things were good.
We ate brunch at Shuka because Shukette did not fit into our theatre plans. The pita, hummus, and whipped feta were delicious. The over fried fries were yum, but the over fried falafel was hard as a rock. The Lamb marguez sausage was under done and slimy, we left the entire platter and the waiter did not even pause when we said we were "done" with it. He should of asked why we didn't eat it? Not so thrilled with our choices, we decided not to order any more plates. So, if you want hummus and fries- go here. If you want a meal, do not.

My wife saw this restaurant on amine of the daytime television shows and decided we needed to try it out for Saturday brunch.
We started with the feta pistachio hummus served with warm pita. It was, to say the least, excellent. The color was a vibrant green and the texture had just the right amount of crunch.
For our main dishes we had the shakshuka and the roasted chicken shawarma. Again neither of these disappointed. The shakshuka was piping hot yet the eggs were done to perfection. The tomato sauce had the right amount of spice to it. The shawarma was so overloaded with chicken (Iโm not complaining) that I had to start off eating the filling part way down until I was able to pick it up and finish it off.
The service was excellent and efficient.
My only regret is that we donโt live in New York as this would be a regular dining spot.
We Ate It All
Summary: Fantastic middle eastern food. Great savory food. Not to be missed olive oil cake and -- to top it off -- chocolate babka French toast.
It's impossible to look at the menu without dreaming of over-ordering. Start with the fried halloumi. Crisp outside, toothsome inside, and delicious. Consider another order, but move on to the whipped feta and pistachio. Consider another order of that, but move on to the other dips, Definitely order the malawach (note the yemenite flatbread), don't skip the kuku frittata, and get a fattoush salad for the greens (and the fried halloumi). Wash it down with moroccan mint tea -- or maybe the turkish cold brew or the moroccan mary -- and move on to the sweets. Leave happy. Try to figure out when you come back.
Most important: go with at least a few other people so that you can have a bit of as many dishes as possible. It's all good.
SALTY SALTY SALTY!!!!
Let me start by saying I love salt! Every single dish from the artichokes to the radish salad to the salmon kebab was so salty it was inedible!!!! Not to mention the terrible service. We asked for water 3 times, asked for the check 3 times. Taste your food guys - awful!!!
Be the first to ReplyBest Mediterranean in NYC!
Fantastic! Why did it take us until our last day here in NYC to find Shuka!? What a great place - awesome service, food, cocktails and vibe. We had an excellent lunch of whipped feta & pistachio dip, chickpea salad and the spiced chicken kebab. All was so perfectly spiced, very well prepared and just deeelish! Oh, and the cocktails we had - the Tunis (tequila, red bell pepper, lime, agave & cilantro bitters) and the Limonana (vodka, hibiscus, lemon, cardamom and soda) were very...well we had a few rounds, put it that way!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful, flavorful food.
Wonderful, flavorful food. Sweet potatoes were fabulous, Brussels sprouts amazing. No need for meat when the vegetables are this delicious, but the chicken kebab was moist and flavorful too.
