A Gem of a place
What a place!!!!!! It has such a great atmosphere with up close music. The band we saw were outstanding and you can have a drink and either bar food or a real cosy jazz feel restaurant. It's a real gem of a place

Stopped in for a drink and a stop in the Haunted Pub Crawl. Great vibe with the old time “Sinatra” type music and atmosphere. Drinks were awesome and there are some cool and creepy stories about the bar.

Found this place in Printers Alley on our first night in Nashville. Stopped for dinner and the fantastic music. Meals were excellent and Tony our waiter was friendly and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyUnusual and awesome place!
Food is excellent. Best meal in Nashville the last two times I went. Drinks are excellent, they pay attention to detail. Very neat place with old time vibes.
Be the first to ReplyGreasy...
Great music and really cool place but seriously let down by the food. I had only ordered the BLT when it arrived immediately...greasy strips of bacon on stodgy greasy bread, a hunk of lettuce and one slice of tomato topped with one egg and some very oily diced potatoes.

Wow! What a great place. Glad we decided to dine here this time in Nashville. Exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in and checked in with the host to when we left, this staff rocks and has amazing chemistry as a team. Service levels were excellent. Hats off to everyone, I haven’t had great service like that in years. Our server Ethan was extremely professional but friendly and personable. He recommended some great menu items and paced us with perfect timing in between courses. Never felt rushed and enjoyed ourselves talking while listening to the live band. Kudos to the kitchen, the food was delicious and when I saw how small the kitchen is, I was impressed even more. Highly recommend the short rib empanada to start with. My lamb rack was cooked to the temp I ordered with a nice crisp outside, tender and juicy inside, the sauce took it to the next level. My wife loved her scallop dish. Ended the night with great desserts and espresso martinis.

Exceptionally nice place. Second time, the last was for my birthday. Service, food, and the atmosphere can’t be beat. The Prime Rib was outstanding. Drinks are great, Our waitress was exceptionally nice. Book well in advance!! Burlesque show starts at 2300, I would book late dinner hang around for the show, very classy place
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dinner venue
Just had dinner at this venue and can’t rate it highly enough. They managed to find a table for us which was nice as they were quite busy. Food was excellent. I had the rib eye cooked to perfection my wife the scallops which also came cooked spot on. Would go back anytime.

WHAT AN AMAZING DINING EXPERIENCE This turned out to be! This place is one of the best little gems I've ever gone to anywhere in the world! Our server Leah truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a phenomenal dining experience! The atmosphere was so cool, with a live Jazz band on stage. The drinks ate a bit overpriced due to the taxes on alcohol in the city limits, but still great cocktails. The food was absolutely incredible! The filet mignon with crawfish sauce was delicious, as well as the NY strip and the pork knuckle. The mushrooms were delicious, and the service was fast and personal. Two thumbs way up to Skull's Rainbow for an outstanding meal!

This restaurant was suggested to us during a tour of Nashville. Unlikely we would have found the restaurant otherwise. The entrance is located in an alleyway but definitely worth finding it! Our drinks and dinners were excellent. We went with short ribs and the halibut special. The peanut butter pie was an awesome dessert choice. Service was very professional. The atmosphere has a nice vibe … piano bar, low lights and relaxed. A great date night place.

Had dinner here for 2. Great wine list. Good food. Good service. Not sure what all the hype was with Printers Alley--a few bars and restaurants--that's it. But Skulls was good
Be the first to ReplyGreat time spent Listening to Blues
Great fun atmosphere with really good blues music. Slightly away from Broadway just around the corner so it doesn’t feel as crazy. Appetizers and drinks are available late at night.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and live band
We went to dinner at Skull’s Rainbow Room located in Printers alley and it was fabulous. The service is fabulous and I ordered the Prime Rib which was amazing it was so tender. The live band was good so Skulls is a must visit when you eat in Nashville.

Ambiance was fantastic, the bartender mixed up a custom drink that was phenomenal and the food was absolutely delicious!!! Would definitely recommend and go back there again
Be the first to ReplyA Must, for Nashville Fine Dining and Jazz
We enjoyed all our meals in Nashville, but when it came to fine dining, this was by far our favorite. Tucked away in Printers' Alley, this little hole in the wall holds big surprises! The food was terrific. We were torn between scallops and short ribs; both were significant portions and included vegetables and mashed potatoes. Our knowledgeable waiter suggested we share the short ribs and order a half order of just the scallops. We appreciated his input, as we were about to experience both delicious meals, and had room for a creamy peanut butter pie for dessert. Add, outstanding jazz, by a variety of musicians. Skull's Rainbow Room is definitely a restaurant we look forward to visiting again!
Be the first to ReplyA Restaurant in Need of New Management
One year ago, my wife and I had a wonderful experience at Skull’s and published a glowing review. Our return this year was disappointing. Although the service was good, the food, entertainment and ambience were not. Beth Caron, the previous manager is gone, replaced by Miri Logan, a woman with a dour disposition and a reluctance to engage with customers. The restaurant is noisy, and the tables are so close together that even the wait staff struggles to serve customers. There are several more pleasant venues in the City, so we will not return to Skull’s.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Evening
A place to spend your entire evening. But also go to top off your evening after a show. We were delighted to find that they took late reservations (10:00pm) - perfect for after the event we were in town for. This place is a real treat for, not only deliciously prepared food, but the musical talent is especially skilled and entertaining. The Skull Room is an experience that will be appreciated on many levels. It’s history, setting and ambience are reason enough to go but you’re going back for the food, music and how the staff makes you feel. We had a snafu with our debit card cutting off the amount that it would allow to go through because of some out-of-town charges limit we didn’t know about. The server & manager couldn’t have been nicer. They made us feel like it was no problem at all. They were unbelievably kind & accommodating. The whole experience definitely made us repeat customers and we’ve already spread the word to many we know that frequent the downtown Nashville scene. Go! You’re going to love everything about this Nashville gem.
Be the first to ReplyVery Disappointed
There were four women and we had had reservations for at least a week ahead although we were seated right next to the front door. There was a bad draft every time the door opened. The whole thing was very expensive although I had prepared myself to spend money and ordered a steak. Myself and another person at the table ordered our steaks med rare and when they were served, they were med to well done. We asked the waiter if he thought they were med rare and he agreed they were not so he returned them. After much time, we each received another steak - both still overcooked - mine was thin and full of fat and gristle. We did not say anything else and paid the bill. The restaurant is located in a cute area of town and the atmosphere of the restaurant is fair although I believe it is very over rated. There are way too many better places to eat in Nashville.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disgrace for Nashville
This place is a scam. The managers are entitled and treating people like animals. They packed the place and then they don't want people to block any space they have available to walk. As soon as we asked a guy that was asking us to move constantly where would they want us to be, he decided that we needed to leave instead of dealing with questions. On top of that we had just pay for our drinks, he took them from us and made someone else walked us out. There was a line of people waiting outside and the place was already packed. The good reviews probably come from the people that eat and leave. The ones that come for the show suffer the bad service from this place. The guy at the door is rude and disrespectful and the manager is a lady that is absolutely good for nothing. What a disgrace for Nashville.
Be the first to ReplyRainbow Room is Legit! Worth the diversion from Broadway.
This is the place to visit in Nashville….away from Broadway. Broadway bars are fun, but they play too much mainstream, poppy music. The Rainbow room features legit jazz bands and has an excellent menu. Its worth the walk. We were able to bar seating on a Thursday. I recommend making reservations. If you are a bit spry…they feature a burlesque show at 11pm. One last point….music does not begin until 7:30, so don’t show up for dinner at 5:30 expecting music.
