the pork chop was so dry but it had flavor.
the escargot was amazing and the old fashioned was delicious as well. espresso martini was pretty light. a little watered down. wouldn't order again. the atmosphere and the service is what i could come back for. unfortunately not the food. still had a great time.
Be the first to ReplyTerrific food and entertainment.
The prime rib empanadas were the best thing I ate during a week in Nashville. Service was good.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great.
Arrived late into town and was blown away by the late night menu! Food, drinks, service was all excellent

We celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday in Nashville and Skulls Rainbow Room was recommended by a friend. And HOLY COW the food was amazing! We had a party of 5 and we all got different entrees. The lamb was amazing, salmon was great, pork chop was excellent, gnocchi was spectacular, the steak was perfect. (I got a taste of what everyone ordered) The service was spot on! And the overall esthetic of the place was just what we were looking for!
Be the first to ReplyCame for the food.
Stayed for the live jazz music and burlesque! It's the perfect little off the beaten path downtown spot
Be the first to ReplyWe've been eating and taking people to Skulls since we
We've been eating and taking people to Skulls since we moved here 5.5 years ago. This past Saturday (party of 6) was my last time. First off the waitress wasn't pleasant - it was cold in there - and it is just too loud to have any sort of conversation. It's a cool vibe music is good but we were better off going to dinner anywhere else in Nashville and then listening to a good band at Johnny Cash or FGL or kid Rocks etc ... I had a Wedge - the lettuce wasn't good, it wasn't a wedge and it was small and not great and I knew at that moment the food was gonna come out not great -- but I was hopeful still. I got the prime rib; it wasn't hot and fresh it looked like it was brought out of the fridge and left over night before serving - it was SALTY beyond too -- it used to be good but it wasn't this night - my wife had a filet and said it wasn't good - waitress wouldn't have cared she wasn't good (aloof) never really asked - the ONLY thing that was beyond good was the chocolate fudge cake thing they brought out for my friends birthday - that I could have eaten as a Meal and been happy it was thick and really good !!! For me - SRR has lost it's magic and we were very disappointed - apparently also they don't split the bill up at Skulls (she just dropped off the check) so know that if you go with a Group of people you're going to pay for your people's drinks food etc here ...
Be the first to ReplyMust go if you are in Nashville, great bar and music open
Must go if you are in Nashville, great bar and music open late... The best... Off the main drag but printers Alley is a must see when visiting Nashville
Be the first to ReplyThis was amazing, my sister and I stumbled across this
This was amazing, my sister and I stumbled across this place in printers alley. Very fun and the energy was so magical. Felt like a Time Machine with the live music and vintage decor. The stage is still the same one where lots of music icons performed! Drink are so good and the bartender created drinks based on your likes so it felt very personalized.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful music venue & the ambience was super cool.
However, 4 of us ordered their signature dish, filet mignon and it was the WORST filet I have ever had. Tough, low quality, very chewy and tasteless. The truffle mashed potatoes were barely warm and drenched in garlic. The manager checked on us and appeared offended & put off by our reaction not didn't care one iota. No concern or offer to take it off the bill. I would not recommend this venue for dinner don't go here not worth it. It's touristy and low quality. And especially do not go for dinner it's a complete waste of money and time.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time to Nashville and this restaurant was recommended
First time to Nashville and this restaurant was recommended by friends and I can see why. The food was excellent. We both had the filet with mushrooms and the Parmesan fries, both cooked just right and melted in the mouth. I had a classic Old Fashion and asked for Woodford (they use Jim Beam - I always ask what bourbon they use), the drink was great. Our waitress Jessica was very friendly and helpful, not rushing us at all. The ambiance I loved, a bit dark but I didn't mind. The gentleman playing the piano was very good - some Billy Joel, Sinatra, Bennet.... I really enjoyed it and it wasn't so loud that you couldn't talk. This is hands down my favourite restaurant here.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great time Saturday night at Skulls.
We wandered in sans reservation and the hostess (Laura) bent over backwards to get us a table - a nice one at that! Our server (super nice guy wearing a beret or tam) was polite and efficient and helpful. The band - the live Sinatra-ish band - regaled us throughout. There was one bizarre episode where 4 people tried to join us (?!) in our booth. Um, yeah. Management whisked them away very gracefully. Who does that? The food was just ok - certainly not prime beef - but we were enjoying ourselves so much it barely mattered. Will definitely go back on our next trip
Be the first to ReplyThis is a jazz restaurant with live music.
I recommend getting seated at the floor level so you can enjoy the entertainment. The food is great and so are the drinks. The staff are above average and really friendly.
Be the first to ReplyWaited over an hour for our table, but totally worth it.
Exceptional service. Drinks were plentiful and always timely. Food blew us away. Ambiance is really fun. If you can get a res'y, great job! Not easy to get. Thankful for great experience for my 50th party!
Be the first to Reply8 of us Went for dinner and it was excellent.
Our server Anne was spectacular!! I would highly recommend requesting her. She made the evening very enjoyable.
Be the first to ReplyWe were taking customers out to dinner and I wanted to find
We were taking customers out to dinner and I wanted to find a restaurant that was nostalgic that had good food and ambience. Skull's Rainbow Room fit that mold. I had made reservations on-line, but up on arrival they didn't have my name down. I was a bit nervous since this place was packed. The hostess worked through the details and we only had to wait 40 minutes to get a table. We sat down with our refreshments and waitress came right over and shared history on Skull's. Pretty interesting story. We ordered the escargot for an app, which came out pretty quick. The snails were amazing. The garlic butter / parmigiana they came in was bomb! Throw that on a slice of the baguette and it's heaven in your mouth. Everyone ordered different main dishes from Prime-rib, to salad. I ordered the braised beef short ribs. These were melt in your mouth good. Man I haven't had short ribs like this in a long, long time. Everyone enjoyed their main dish. I was told, the 1/2 chicken deliciousness, prime-rib flavorful, salads dressing home made. Now why they are getting a 4. The runner brought our escargot and spilt the hot butter down my arm. When I say "hot" piping hot! I said something to him and he said "oh sorry" and walked away. I asked for a wet cloth to clean my shirt and he continued to walk away. I had to get up and unsuccessfully try to clean my shirt. Last thing are the sides we ordered were just OK. We ordered brussels sprouts and asparagus, which both tasted like they were cooked in a pan spray.

I would gladly give the food and service a five star rating because they were excellent, however our dinner was ruined by the loud music coming from the speakers.
Be the first to ReplyNo pun intended when I say this place left a bad taste in
No pun intended when I say this place left a bad taste in my mouth. I was thrilled to be there at first. Live music was on point and was the highlight of the evening. Things went south after we were seated for our reservation. We sat at the table for well over 15 minutes before I had became annoyed and stopped a server to ask when our table could expect to be served. This was after every single server made eye contact with us and seemingly couldn't care less we were sitting there unattended. After an obviously fake apology from the server, we ordered drinks and food. Drinks were good and the food was as well, but the problem was the server trying to take plates and even my glass of beer before I was finished eating or drinking. I still had a little less than half a beer left in my glass when he came up from behind and swiped the glass off the table. Mind you we hadn't been there more than 45 minutes so it wasn't like we were holding up the table. 15 minutes of that time was waiting to be served. There are too many options in Nashville that will take better care of their customers. Unacceptable considering the cost of $200 for two people to eat and have one drink a piece. I would have much rather kept my money and dined somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a beautiful step into a New Orleans atmosphere.
The walk down towards the restaurant feels just like walking down the narrow streets of New Orleans with the sound of jazz pouring out of every establishment. As you walk into the rainbow room, you are enveloped into a cozy, dark space filled with delicious smells and incredible music. The staff at the front and at your table are very attentive, so be sure to make a reservation. Everyone at our table enjoyed their mains (steak or fish) but the sides were not very good. Overall this is a great spot worth visiting while in town.
Be the first to ReplyMy 7 friends and I had a trip planned to Nashville since
My 7 friends and I had a trip planned to Nashville since the fall. One friend had been to Skulls previously and insisted we try it out for our March trip. First, I will start by saying that the atmosphere was nice and the lobster bisque was delicious. Everyone in our party was happy with their meal! The food was delicious and the server was attentive. The only hiccup was the communication to book and solidify a reservation. We contacted Skulls in January, as the website says for big parties you need a reservation! In January, we were told to reach out 2 weeks before our trip! We did email again (they do not take phone calls) and the response was delayed but we were given 2 options for dinner times. We replied that we would take the 8:15 slot. There was no response or follow up after that even though many emails were sent by us. We showed upAt 8:15 and we were told by "Heather" that we did not have a reservation. The emails back and forth were presented to her (they were all signed by her...Heather...the person telling us we did not have a reservation ) They did accommodate us with a table fairly quickly as this was clearly their error! My wish for them is that they get someone more responsible and responsive to answer their emails and book their large parties! It's a great place and I would definitely recommend it!
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant was recommended by a local as a Good place
This restaurant was recommended by a local as a Good place to eat, Wrong. Very over priced. I had the ribeye special ($70) the steak was ok I've had better at Texas Roadhouse. My wife had the herb chicken it was over cooked, dry. I'm not a complainer but I wished I had. It was the worst $140 meal I've ever had. I would only recommend this place for the atmosphere not food or service.
Be the first to ReplyOMG what are you waiting for?!? Make a reservation and GO!!
OMG what are you waiting for?!? Make a reservation and GO!! We went for the first time last Saturday intending to stay for dinner and ended up staying until they closed!! We started with a drink at the bar, great atmosphere, happy attentive bartenders who actually interact with you! Then we sat for dinner, Brandon our server, was so friendly and energetic and gave great recommendations. It's Tuesday now and Im STILL dreaming of the short ribs and mashed potatoes. Our friends got the pork chops and ribeye and they were huge portions and also cooked to perfection. While we chatted and laughed and enjoyed the ambiance and fantastic live music we ordered dessert...straight from heaven. The Lemon cake and peanut butter chocolate cakes were literally right out of heaven. THEN the show started. The girls were amazing burlesque dancers and really put on a fantastic show with lots of humor and well choreographed dances. By the time it ended our cheeks were sore from smiling and voices lost from singing along with the band. We're planning a move to Nashville and Skulls Rainbow Room will be our go to spot to take all our visitors when they come. Truly a great experience and evening, so glad we stayed!

Best place for entertainment and great food, drinks, wine & overall atmosphere. Our server Brandon was amazing, personality and recommendations!!! He went over and above to make sure we were 100% satisfied. If you can request a table at Brandon's table I would recommend.

Great service. Good food. Fun place to hang out and listen to jazz in Nashville.

Skull's for brunch is a "yes"! The ambience is fantastic, the food is very good (not great, but very good), and their specialty drinks aren't too bad either. We had the beignets to start. They were served hot with chocolate and cinnamon butter on the side. We split the steak and eggs (filet and eggs over hard). Again, it was good, but not great. Meat was tender and eggs done well, but would have preferred the filet not cut into 3 medallions for us. It came out well, instead of medium rare as requested. Prices on the medium to high side.All-in-all, a must go for Printers Alley.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was tasty (we got the breakfast charcuterie board).
The atmosphere and music were fantastic! The service pretty much sucked... we had reservations and they seated us quickly. But we waited for our server, April, to get our drinks to us. I visibly saw her remember that she had forgotten to get our drink order in, and then she went to put them in and came to tell us the bar was "running behind". We originally ordered the prime rib eggs Benedict. She came back and said they were out of that. When our charcuterie board came out, they didn't bring plates. So there was food crumbling everywhere! We would have let them know, but literally NO ONE checked on us until we were ready to leave. A place this nice and pricey should ensure it's staff are super on top of things! I am disappointed.
