Food was amazing.
Tender steaks, cooked as ordered. Appetizers and sides (some are ala carte) are large and shareable. Service was excellent; attentive but not intrusive. Upscale ambiance but not pretentious. The manager and staff were friendly and pleasant. This was well worth the visit.

Thank you for your nearly 20 years of excellent service! The drinks, food, and service have always been impeccable and it's been great making new friends while sitting at the centralized wraparound bar. Looking forward to hearing about your plans for a downtown Columbus location in the fall.

Hands down, the most overrated/overpriced steakhouse we have ever been to. The only thing not screwed up was the ice water. We started our dining experience with our server making a snide remark about a table of "foreigners" she had served earlier...stay classy! As far as the food goes, everything was either over or undercooked, over or under seasoned and all around inedible! I ordered the Wagyu strip steak which had sooooo much seasoning on it my wife nor I could eat it. Why take a premium cut of beef and make it a joke with fists full of seasoning. Let the beef be the star of the show! The Brussel sprouts were bland and almost raw. My wife ordered the Wagyu filet which was unbelievably bland. However, the kicker was the $14 truffle fries. These are clearly store bought, FROZEN french fries that they are charging $14 for. They were cold and disgusting. Even fast food burger joints can make fresh cut fries!!! If you enjoy a high-end dining experience there are MUCH better options in and around Columbus.

Small portions but very good food! Came here for a meeting and I'm not sure if that's why the portions were smaller otherwise great place to come business casual or date night!
Be the first to ReplyI had high hopes for this place.
But was disappointed. We got seated and it took 13 minutes for someone to even acknowledge our existence. When the server finally arrived there was no apology for our wait or even so much as an introduction. Our service was terrible, the server barely checked in on us. If we needed something we could forget about it. I ordered the hassleback potatoes as a side.... Literally no seasoning! $14 for two little unseasoned potatoes. I said something to the server and he had no sympathy and didn't offer to bring me something I actually would like. He just said "unfortunately that's how our chef likes to prepare it" excuse me what???? I have a hard time believing the chef thinks potatoes are best with nothing on it. The tenderloin sandwich was good so that's the only reason I gave it 2 stars. Wouldn't return based on service alone. Also if you are looking for a "fine dining" experience don't go here.
Be the first to ReplyTenderloin Sandwhich was awesome and cooked perfectly.
Drinks were rich, powerful, and savory. These were for real drinks and nothing watered down like you'd get at Friday's, Outback, Red Lobster, Applebees, or Dave and Busters. The burger was requested medium but they gave us well done. Had they got the order right it would've been an amazing burger but it was tough and leathery and we didn't feel like complaining or sending it back. The fries and onion rings were okay yet the skillet truffled Mac and Cheese was a hard pass as it was lacking truffle flavor and soul and was lukewarm when it arrived at the table. Cole slaw was a joke because it was really dry like it was just cut up cabbage in a bowl. Complimentary rolls were delectable. Cake was moist and delicious. Service was great as well. 4 Stars because the most crucial parts of the meal and overall experience they hit a home run out of the park and the things they didn't get right weren't a deal breaker.

Had dinner here with a group and was pleasantly surprised with service and food quality. Very good apps. My steak was a tad over cooked than what I wanted however still worked. Sides great and a very good meal had by all

Even if I don't like you, don't come here. What I had hoped to be a nice evening out, and I wouldn't have to cook... Showed up early to grab a drink at the " no way" will you find a seat bar. For $20 each. My French 75 reminded me of bad bathtub gin. Head back to the hostess stand to ask if my table was perhaps ready. She was snide in her snootiness of replies, as in "no *itch, get out the way". Who died? We had a 8pm. We showed up for a drink at 7. Stood like a couple of deer in headlights til a nice couple let us have their seats. A couple of terribly made cocktails. 8:25 got sat. A "what the F is her issue" hostess with the leastest. Finally sat, pretty much in the center of the arena (and where all severs were literally brushing by into the kitchen or out to the bar). Hi, all eyes on us! Our server was kinder, menu is plentiful. Split a Wollensky salad. Worth $16. That'd be a fat no with a side of overcooked break your tooth bacon pieces. Hot bread served with room temp butter (at least). I was feeling crabby. So I ordered the filet with crab aka Filet Oscar, asking for it medium rare and emphasized "pink in the center" making a circle with my finger, and poking the middle as I said juicy. And oh my god when I just typed that out.. *blushing Other half orders Wagyu Flat Iron frittes. Mac and cheese side. All comes at once, glorious. Mac n cheese, tasty. Toasty breadcrumbs. The Wagyu, cooked correctly, salty. Too much so. Soft meat, but like the soft that feels like the meat is broken down. Sinewy. No. No. No, for $80?Filet Oscar. It's lukewarm at best. Tough parts to chew, though the center was pink in some parts... I take a few bites of Mac, and the steak is basically cool. I can't eat it. I'm afraid to send it back as then it will be beyond my temperature preference. I ask to have it heated up. As I expected, yes it was warm, and yes overdone/ gray. Ugh. The yellow sauce, which I'm assuming is hollandaise tastes like it was pre-prepared, from a jar. Hard bits of asparagus I think on the plate? Here's the best part, we were charged an additional $50 for items that were not ours. We were asked by a couple people if we were sure. #smh Sometimes places like to liqueur you up so you just pay the bill and not really look. I felt like we were being taken advantage of. Probably should not have worn my red bottoms and my Celine.
Be the first to ReplyI could give them a 100% or a 1%.
It does not matter. They will be gone by the end of January. Gonna miss this iconic Steak House that has severed 100,00's of dinner and cocktails. Columbus will miss this first class restaurant that has put them on the map. Hope they find a respectable location and gets the business that they deserve. Our dinners have always been spectacular. Manager, servers, bartenders and hostess been so competent. Good luck Smith and Wollensky, you will be missed.

This place was good!! We were shopping around Easton this night. Turned in for some good food. Sat at the bar. We were immediately served.I was in prep for my first bodybuilding show so I didn't quite get the experience in food. But I wi tell you the scallops... SO GOOD.They had a caramelized onion that was so delicious. I don't like or eat onions, I just had no idea what they were until later but they were really good.I also had the Caesar salad. One of the best Caesar's I've ever had. I have been a bit obsessed with Caesar's for the last year!My date had a steak. I tried a bite and wow. Very good.Needless to say we we'll be back because I need to try something else here!

Be the first to ReplyI was so disappointed with this location, I could have
I was so disappointed with this location, I could have cried. We got there at 8:45 for our reservation and were seated promptly. That was the BEST part of the night!I had talked up this restaurant to my family and they were really excited. We all ordered the filet. My wife had the cocoa and coffee filet. We also ordered the whipped potatoes and the roasted Brussels. We waited almost 45 minutes in a half-crowded restaurant for our food. I ordered mine Pittsburgh Rare. It came out Medium with little char!My son ordered his Medium Well. It came out cold but Medium Well AT BEST, more on the Well side. It also had a strip of grisly fat on a third of it. My wife ordered hers Medium Well, the waiter begged her to go Medium. She did, it was Medium Rare and also cold. The potatoes were GREEN and tasted like they had lime jello powder mix in them. They were DISGUSTING!The Brussels were not roaster. Suveed maybe. To the waiter's credit, he noticed we barely touched them and had the manager come over and take them off. After waiting so long and later at night, we chose not to make a scene. I know we should have because it was ATROCIOUS, but we quickly finished, paid, and left. However, we will NEVER be back to any of their restaurants again!Stay away and save your money!
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant deserves nothing but praise! I was visiting
This restaurant deserves nothing but praise! I was visiting my friend who just moved to Columbus, and we narrowed down our dinner choices to two places, this being one of them. I'm so glad we chose Smith & Wollensky, because it was a spectacular meal. Our server, Josh, was knowledgeable and friendly and provided the highest level of customer service. The food was fabulous, especially the coffee cocoa steak. This place is on the top of my list for when I return to Columbus.
Be the first to ReplySmith & Wollensky is one of my favorite restaurants.
Whenever I travel I always go there for dinner. Unfortunately the closest one to me is the Columbus Ohio location. The last three time I have visited this location, they have failed to cook my steak correctly. This last time was no exception. I requested steak to be cook medium rare, with a nice crust/char. What I got was a steak where the char was feeble and the overwhelming taste is of salt. The steak looked like it was barely cooked over any heat. Worse is the texture. It's floppy and inside looked glossy and did not even look like beef. My waiter agreed and he showed other people not sure if it was the Manager. They proceeded to walk around looking at my steak in the dining room. They took steak back and placed on heat again. The same steak came back out and now was more medium inside, dry and basically tasted burnt with no seasoning. Someone not sure if it was the manager offered to take off half the price and said cooking another steak would take a while. I tried to take a few more bites but gave up, considering I was basically eating burnt meat. My waiter was nice and thought they should have prepared me another steak.I'm just not impress with this location and starting to question the establishment in general. My wife and daughter had burgers and they were dry. Even the fries came out soggy with zero crisp. The steaks at Tony's of Cincinnati are much better than this location. This will be the last time I come to this location.

Although our service was great, the prices are incredibly high for the quality, quantity, and delivery of the food. There were 8 of us dining together and nobody's food was hot. One of our steaks (a fillet) was overcooked and although we did send it back to be cooked the way it was ordered, everyone at the table was nearly done with their meals when the steak finally arrived. Sadly when it did arrive, it was not at all tender. For the price point of $150 for Surf & Turf for two, we were very disappointed. The fish dishes, appetizers, and sides were good but again they were all served warm as though they had been sitting awhile before being delivered to the table.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for my husband's birthday.
We were greeted by the hostess who knew it was his birthday (it was mentioned when reservations were made). We had a party of 6. We arrived at 5 and enjoyed the last hour of Happy Hour, then ordered dinner. My husband and I ordered the surf and turf for two ~ AMAZING. What/who really made the experience exceptional was our server - Bara. (I hope I spelled that correctly). He was phenomenal. Everything we asked for was served promptly and every glass was kept full. He made great (and honest) suggestions. He aimed to please and made every effort to to make sure everyone was happy. Servers like Bara are worth far more than their weight in gold. What a great asset to this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible customer service.
Rude hostess. I'm severely disappointed with my last visit here.
Be the first to ReplyWe went for Valentine's Day.
No issues getting an evening reservation on the heated patio. It was a good choice for a special occasion.Look, we're not fancy, schmancy steak people. But we know good service. And we got that, from Holly and Reggie. Both were very attentive and kind, indulging us in taking photos and educating us on what a 28oz steak looks like. If you've got a couple extra pennies, treat yourself to dinner here. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing dinner!!! We got the coffee&cocoa filet and New York strip, by far the best steaks we've ever had. The sides were also phenomenal, Mac n cheese and whipped potatoes. A special occasion dinner for us but we will definitely be returning!

Drinks were amazing, I got a Tennessee Sidecar, my wife got their brands Meritage red wine which was really good. We ordered 2 appetizers, the burrata and angry shrimp. No appetizers under $20 by the way, 3 slices of thin toast for the burrata and 4 shrimp served on...mashed potatoes. Shrimp were big and well seasoned, sauce was bland and mashed potatoes was an odd accompaniment. Burrata was good, but I could have recreated it at home for $7 and that would have included more toast for everyone. Service was good, not great or amazing. We ordered a wedge salad, it was fantastic honestly, no salads under $14 I believe. It was a good sized salad, best quality out of the first few courses somehow. They have free bread which is amazing, definitely don't miss out on it. For the meal, we split a 21 oz strip, bearnaise sauce on the side, mushrooms, roasted potatoes, French fries split between the table. Steak was fantastic, mushrooms lacked seasoning, potatoes were good and French fries were fantastic. You won't get a steak for less than $55. The dessert menu we didn't order from, it looked very basic, similar to what an Applebee's would have. They don't have specials, I saw someone with a burger and fries but couldn't find it anywhere. I can only imagine that was the thing to order, because the meat and fries were great. If you sensed a theme in my review, it's the markup was insane on these items even for a steakhouse. My wife and I love eating out, love a nice restaurant and aren't shy at spending more than we should. But nothing on this menu was worth its price in my opinion. Even the cocktails were $17, everything was good, I have no complaints but the bill at the end of the night was extraordinary and when you pay extraordinary prices you would expect to leave thinking, I have never and will never find a better meal. We didn't feel that way.You can find an equal experience and quality of food elsewhere IMO and pay less.
