It’s all hype. For a restaurant that is always booked and almost impossible to secure a reservation, we had really high expectations. As you walk in, the open kitchen looks great but after you are seated at your table, the place has no atmosphere (felt like a cafeteria). The food was hit or miss. We had 8 items and only liked 2 of them (the duck liver mousse and lamb dumplings were very good). Rest of it was blah - felt like trying too hard by mixing ingredients that really didn’t do it for us. And there are much better places in San Francisco where you can spend $150 p/p and have a much better meal and experience.
