April 25/2024: Lunch with Slipp.
This was SO mediocre. The location itself was nice but we were crammed into a corner & the table was too small for me. Our server was a delightful young African Canadian woman that was very polite & accommodating. Always smiling & helpful. I have this place a 3* (and that's generous) because the food was so blah! The pizza (Funghi & Burratta) was $29.00 & it was super sparse with the topping, virtually ZERO taste & grossly undercooked to boot! As far as I'm concerned, this isn't a do over. No pics of this one.
Be the first to ReplyGreat vibes cozy and warm.
Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Pappardelle Angello - good pasta but flavours could be more impactful. Portion can be a touch larger. Brie tartufo pizza was good, not too earthy but well balanced for the pizza. Cookie was a touch dry but good size
Be the first to Replyservice was terrible.
you can't change anything on any order. i asked for a hamburger without the bun and was told no. no changes to any menu item. the restaurant is going too far to save on labour costs.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance and service was great.
It's a nice place for a night out. The food is average. The burger was very ordinary a but dry. I got the halibut special and it was a little fishy and the flavours were lacking. not what I would expect for the price and restaurant caliber.

Fantastic service and great food! I came in a party of 9 and everyone enjoyed the food, cocktails and desserts. It was nice that we could get brunch and lunch menu items. I will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I had pasta which was sub mediocre.
Also had a salad which was limp and bland. The service was good. I won't be going back there. I don't care about ambiance. We usually go to grazie which is across the street. That is a five-star experience.

We sat indoors at it was a day with high smoke levels. Had heard the patio was nice but not advisable that day. So crowded and loud. No one really liked their meals. Will not return.

Accomodated a big table and our server was amazing! Nothing was missed and amazing service. He was very knowledgeable of the entire menu. The food was good but not exceptional. Not somewhere I would crave but great environment and if someone asked if they should go there I would still say yes.

At the grocery counter when paying, there was no option for not leaving a tip and when one declines anyway, the message comes asking you again to reconsider. This is for groceries that the customer picked up themselves. Management , please pay your servers properly rather than intimidating your customers into paying them for you.

Had two dishes. The Salmone Crudo and Tomato sphagetti dish. The bill with top came to 50$!!! Salmone crudo was good but the portion too small. So I had to order one more dish. Tomato spaghetti was okay. Nothing to write home about. Service is friendly. They have a lot of seating space and were abuzz on a weeknight.
Be the first to ReplyThe good is that the dining atmosphere is lovely.
The bad is that the food is ok at best. Main course portions aren't that generous and side dishes which are insanely expensive are minuscule. I'm not sorry that I visited this restaurant but I admit that I have no desire to return.
Be the first to ReplyComfy spot above the food store on Yonge north of Eglinton.
Menu has something for everyone and I really enjoyed the lobster roll. Service is friendly and attentive. Seating is a bit tighter than I like for price so not a spot for any personal conversation. I'm average size and it was a squeeze to get between tables. Otherwise Stock has good food, good service and a very convenient location.

We looked at the food reviews and decided to go, even though the service reviews were pretty bad. The reviews were accurate on both points. Bad news first - we had a reservation and they seated us late but told us there was a follow up reservation 2 hours after our original start time. While off-putting, it wouldn't have been an issue if we hadn't waited 15 minutes just to get cocktails. Then, when I tasted my Old Fashioned, which I had ordered to be not sweet, it was more like sugar water than it was an alcoholic drink. The Old Fashioned continued to water down as we sat waiting for our waitress to come back because it was iced with small cubes - it took another 10 minutes. When she offered to get me another drink, I just suggested she get me a shot of rye whiskey because I thought it would be faster, plus I was beginning to feel the need for more alcohol. It really did take that long. Sidenote, I was surprised that a bar in Canada had only two brands of rye whiskey. It would be great if they could at least add Dillons rye as it is quite delicious and made in Canada just a little south of Toronto. We ordered 2 appetizers - the scallops were to die for - a 5/5. We also ordered the Santa Stefano pizza, which came uncut. When we questioned why there was no cutting tool delivered with it... like a pizza wheel... we were told by our waitstaff, who took 10 minutes to come back, even though we asked another waitstaff to ask her to come back quickly, that she was told they serve it uncut because that's how they do it in Italy and we could just pull it apart. I've been to Italy a number of times and eaten plenty of pizza/flat bread there and they were all cut or, if uncut, come with a cutting tool. Once we got to it, it was delicious - a 4/5 as the prosciutto had an odd taste. For entrees, I got the branzino 5/5 and my husband got the agnolotti del plin - a stellar 5/5. We had learned our lesson by then, and had ordered our wine when our appetizers came, and sure enough, the wine came with our dinner. For dessert we ordered some kind of a apple cake that was topped with the toffee like covering that was deliciousIf this service had not been so horrible, this would have been a five out of five stars review, because the food was definitely that good. The music was super loud, which made it difficult to converse, and the lighting at one point went, super bright, which we think happened because somebody leaned up against the Dimmer switch, because after that, it went to completely dark. Perhaps a covering on that wall switch would be in line.Next time I'm in Toronto, I would definitely go back and hope that the service has improved, because if it didn't, I would downgrade this review to one star because it really isn't worth it to have such great food with such horrible service to happen more than once.

One of my favourite spots for Italian! The restaurant has a very nice vibe, perfect for date night or a night out with friends. The service is great, and the pasta is perfect!!
Be the first to ReplyThis was a strange, mixed experience.
First, we had pizza as an appetizer & it was perfect. However, I had the steak frites for the main course and was shocked that they would only cook the steak one way. As a result it was over cooked (to my taste) and spoiled a perfectly good cut of meat. The service was fine but I would not eat here again.

What a disappointment:( I had very high hopes for this place. Only the appetizers lived up to the expectations. The steak was poorly prepared and not tender at all and the pizza was cold. Worst part, the service. The hostess needs more education on how to treat guests.Never will return!

5. Great spot for drinks and snacks or dessert but won't be back for dinner soon. Worth a try if you haven't been but I'll be looking for other spots to try or go somewhere else if I'm craving Italian. Venue: Really cool restaurant in a seemingly heritage / historic building with an excellent location. Located just above the Stock grocery store.Food/Drinks: The apps and dessert were the standout for me. Fantastic calamari and cheese appys and a wonder desserts. The truffle pasta is poor imo with the truffle being a generous serving but tasted really bland. Value: OK value. Two cocktails, app, dinner and dessert set me back $115. Service: The service was average, our server was quite dull and seemed tired to serve us.

I ordered spaghetti norcina for dinner,I found the spaghetti wasn't cooked fully not enough taste and didn't have enough pork.I let them know and they brought me new plate which exactly the same.Bar is nice but some of the staff are not respectful to our privacy and found a little bit disturbing and not relaxing sitting around the bar. They made my environment toxic

Sooooo don't ask me how but I arrived at Stock bar on a day different than the one my friend and I had reserved for. Total brain fart moment but the host said "well why not to stay and enjoy anyways?" And I thought to myself, you know what ... why not! So, I sat and ate with serious intention to enjoy. My server was the ever friendly and helpful Marelena (sp?) who made some amazing suggestions and I ploughed through 2 mains and 1 dessert. The fish was seasonal and delish but the clear star was the pizza - mushrooms and burata are forever friends and had a party in my mouth. Stuffed to my eyes but not wanting the fun to stop I opted for the pistachio dessert and it was crumbly heaven. A few pointers, you cannot go wrong with mushroom, pistachio or any cheese at this place. Came back again on the correct date with my friend and enjoyed a more tamer 1 main egg option. I think it was like a shashuka. As I quietly ate my brunch, I giggled inside remembering how I pigged out a week before by myself. Highly recommend this spot for a date or a catch up with friends .... or even a solo gastro journey when you want to put yourself first and pretend like the world doesn't exist.

I had a business meeting here a couple weeks back and I was nervous and do not have pictures of the meal. That said, I recall the staff all being super friendly and the food was very good. I don't love going out for pasta because I always feel like it's something I can do at home. I also made my choice based on what food I thought would be least likely to end up all over me. I got the Raviolini Plin, and it was very delicious. Would recommend. I hope to return in the future in a less stressful situation so I can actually explore the menu a bit more.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly very overrated and over priced imo.
The ambience is great for both indoor and patio, but the food itself was just average. Too salty, doesn't feel very fresh. There are so many nice Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, like Grazie across the street. The food here really doesn't justify the price tag. They also charge for bread refills which is weird. I do like the drinks and desserts, but overall would not recommend. You can buy desserts directly downstairs from the coffee bar.

My husband and I are big foodies so we had to try this spot the second we found out about it ! Overall, it was a good experience and must say that the service is amazing ! Our servers name was Adrianna. She was really nice & very easy to talk to. Great vibes. In terms of food: we ordered two orders of the cacio e pepe e tartufo pizza: good but not great. Expected more. This pizza had all the right ingredients but was just not flavorful enough. It needed more salt and pepper for sure to give it a kick of taste in my opinion. The ravioloni all'uovo: Adrianna said that they usually run out of this dish quickly so we placed two orders of this one as well right away. We ended up getting lucky and getting both and it was AMAZING ! Super delicious. The spinach filling mixed with the egg yolk & parmigiano was rich and fantastic. We fell in love with this dish. Def a must order for anyone reading this- you won't regret it For dessert: the banana toffee pie: tasty but too sweet for us. We don't indulge on sweets too often so this was a nice treat for us and we only ate half of it. One thing I didn't like: I wanted to order the chitarra alla carbonara but take out the guanciale (the meat) as I do not mix meat and milk and do not eat meat outside at all but our server said the kitchen wouldn't be able to accommodate this. That limited the pasta options on the menu for us which was upsetting and if we weren't able to place the raviolo order that would have really been a bummer. Would come back to try other menu items (e.g. the burrata pizza) & would definitely order the ravioloni again!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful atmosphere on the patio.
Indoor dining is great too. If you like Terroni and their menu you'll love this place. They have even more selection outside the usual pizza and pasta options. Also the market below is great. Our server was super pleasant and friendly - ย and we even had to move indoors after a crazy storm rolled in. He handled it all with a smile.
