I finally got to dine in here! We sat at the sushi bar, which is a great spot for solo diners or couples to sit. You get to watch the chefs in action. The service was good, and the food was delicious. My favorites are the spicy scallop roll & the avocado fries.

Food is 100% fresh and delicious, Best sushi in miami by a long shot. The eel uni was to die for, if you visit you must try. It literally melts in your mouth. Everything was delicious and i have no complaints about food. Service is amazing, they bring out the food instantly! Just be aware that this restaurant has limited seats and there is often a wait. We waited around 30 minutes for a seat but it was worth it. Some waited around 40-50 minutes. To my knowledge there's no pick up or order online, you must eat there. My guess is they want the food quality to be good, which it is, so they are doing an amazing job. Ambiance is your typical old asian restaurant, nothing too fancy. It is clean, i don't really have complaints about it because the food made up for it. I guess i would say it's not a place to dress super fancy, some pair of jeans and a t shirt are fine. Overall experience amazing! just be expected to wait if there's no tables available, luckily we were first on wait list. But it soon piled up to 3 people behind us. Amazing sushi i hope this place never changes, they have kept up the quality of food and it is definitely the best sushi in Miami. A must have.
Be the first to ReplyUpdate: still consistently great.
The best sushi I've had in Miami. Be prepared to wait, it's a tiny spot and there's a line is outside the door before they open. It's busy at all times, I've tried to calculate different times but it's always the same so be prepared to wait. You must order everything at once (except for dessert, you can order that later) the reason for this is so people can eat faster and leave faster, don't get me wrong, you won't be rushed at all but it's a good way to not let the wait times get completely out of control. I do wish they were able to accommodate take out but from what I understand they are not take out friendly. Those are all minor inconveniences, trust me you won't have better sushi anywhere in Miami.
Be the first to ReplyTry the Love Roll and the Avocado Fries they're amazing.
If I had one criticism it would be that I can never get anyone to pick up the phone when we call. Even if we're calling to see what the wait time is currently. Otherwise this place is really good.
Be the first to ReplyThis place absolutely deserves 5 stars.
The Macadamia roll is one of my all time favorite rolls and this place has been consistently providing their neighborhood with fresh and delicious sushi dating back to their days as a Japanese market down the road. I am always happy to stop here for lunch when I am in the area. The restaurant is quite small and only operates during lunch/early dinner so arriving early always helps. I usually call ahead and aim for pickup service for this reason. Kudos to Erika and her team, this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Miami.

This place is soo good! They were able to accommodate to our 4-person party during rush hour, and have fast service! The food was delicious and there was a huge menu with a wide range of options.

This place is my husbands absolute favorite! We always go and it's always packed! And well worth the wait! We usually order the baked salmon, Lexi Sandwich, & definitely end off with the crepe cake! It's so light!!! Ericka does an amazing job!
Be the first to ReplyCraving of good, fresh, delicious and real sushi.
Sushi Erika covers all your needs when you are looking for extremely good sushi. This small place located at north bay village, with a unique Japanese minimalist style and a cozy sushi bar, pampers you with local and imported fish and seafood. They also offer very nice makis (sushi rolls and hand sushi roll / cones), with a unique combinations. You will find a freezer with a very nice selection of sakes. Service is very attentive and polite and in front of the sushi bar you will find the owner Erika, giving you the most delicious sushi in the area. Take your precautions the place is always packed, so be early to have the opportunity to try this wonderful Japanese spot.

This is our FAVORITE goto sushi place for lunch! The sushi is fresh, delicious and beautiful! The BEST! The desserts are divine! The service is friendly and accommodating. It's a small dining space so it fills up quickly. Totally worth the wait though!

I almost want to keep this spot to myself! Sushi is on point, delicious and perfect portions. Service is friendly and prompt. The space itself is small, no reservations and on a first-come first-served basis. Worth the wait!

We were in the area when we said "let's have sushi" and I remembered that Sushi Erika was one of the places in my to go list that haven't tried before. Erika did not disappoint. Since it was our first time here we went with some recommendations and it was amazing! We enjoyed the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna, Japanese Uni Nigiri, Spicy Scallop Roll (my personal favorite), Marie Roll, Macadamia Roll, Miami Heat Roll, and Hamachi Jalapeño Roll. I would simply recommend any of these. Many places treat the fish as the main thing and don't do a great job with the rice, but i can tell Chef Erika is serious about her rice, and I loved it. We were all very happy and will start coming here to try the entire menu. The place is very small so it is understandable how there can be long wait times, but if you early, it should be fine. I also noticed a lot, and I mean a whole lot of take out orders, unfortunately I don't live close to the area to take advantage. Now you can stop reading this and head over to Sushi Erika, you will love it!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely, positively, the worst service you can imagine.
The stupid rule of having to order all food at once when you arrive is some seriously dumb Miami bullsh*t. Don't come here. Simple as that.
Be the first to ReplyFood is great but the restaurant is pretty inconsistent.
One day you can go there and get take out, the next day you can't. Last time I was there, I couldn't take my food to go, but someone who ordered earlier came to pick theirs up to go So I guess there's a cut off point Or something. I have no idea. Service isn't all that friendly.
Be the first to ReplyIt doesn't matter what you order, it will be the best sushi
It doesn't matter what you order, it will be the best sushi you've ever had. Erika was born to do this. Born to feed us sushi and she puts her heart and soul into everything. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!!

I have been coming here for about 2 years and it's been a mission, I have to agree with FiFi on many of her points. The portions have decreased significantly, the prices have increased highly & how can you charge 2 dollars for spicy mayo and not even full it up.I would walk in for take out and it would be like a problem when I'm such a good customer. I hope you don't close down and just try to adjust some points. I will say that they sushi is banging and it's so close that it's a shame I'm gonna have to go elsewhere. Shame shame shame :(

I live in the building where this restaurant is located and it is just ridiculous. The first time I tried to eat here, pre covid, as we were walking in we were told the SUSHI RESTAURANT was out of RICE.Today, I try again. Knowing they close by 6pm, I call at 5pm and try to place an order for pick up and I am told I can order 4 things as they have some down time and can prepare 4 things for take out. I give up on Erika and her weird rules and service quirks. The sushi might be good, but the hassle and inability to manage and serve is another matter.

I was just reading everyone's review below and I gotta say, most of the negative reviews seem to be Karen's. I have been going to sushi Erika since it opened, I used to go to Japanese market and have been following chef Erika for a while. While I understand the operation rules are different than what we're used to at an American-japanese restaurant. Sushi Erika sticks to their japanese culture. Most of the time I go, the restaurant is packed! There is usually a line out the door. The restaurant is small therefore they put out some rules, such as no take out orders, no using lap top on tables, a one time order, and so on. While these rules may not be common in America, they are very common in other cultures. When entering sushi Erika, I feel she has brought a bit of Japan to miami. They offer amazing specials, their flavor combinations are bold and umami, and their quality of food has never been altered. I know every time I visit sushi Erika I will receive high quality sea food. I will continue to go to sushi Erika and recommend anyone I can! While reminding them that this is not ur regular sushi spot, but an authentic experience. I went this Sunday with my boyfriend for his first time and we spent $98 dollars ordering 3 special roles, 3 appetizers, and one nigiri order. Diet Coke and sparkling water. To me, that's a steal! If you go down to Nobu you will pay exponentially more for lower quality foods. (Love nobu, it's a different experience).
Be the first to Replyit's with a very heavy heart that i write this review i
it's with a very heavy heart that i write this review i have given this place so many chances because it's in my community and i can walk there ..i have meant to write a review many times but opt to give them a 2 chance .They increased the prices and it seemed like they reduced the portion all thou they would argue that point but it was tooo obvious not to notice including the sides they offer like ginger and wasabi .ordered a teriyaki salmon bowl ...the fish was half the size it generally is when i called and voiced my concern i was told the quality is the same perhaps ....MY STOMACH GREW if i am not mistaken that came straight from the owner cause she said it in such confidence that i couldn't imagine having an employer speak to a customer like that .The hours of operation vary a lot . It seems that they are struggling to survive .I get it it's hard but there no need to take it out with hand that's feeding you .I supported you through the pandemic where the place looked like a nursery a baby being taken care of in the resturant .See owners don't think about that with out my patronage and others in the neighborhood they would not exists particularly in there location . The Pizza place on the same complex was there 20 years and had to close down a year ago .Erica you should be more great full to your patrons. We are all going through it none of us are exempt from where we are financially in this country .......right now . If you can't handle it which would be understandable ....call it a day and let someone else with bigger pockets occupy your space and service this community that is in big need for food places . I hope you read this and realize who you have become .....a person that speaks to patrons in this way does not deserve to be in business.Well you will never see my business again .i know i am only one person but there are platforms like this that my one voice can reach millions. It's time to close your business .I am sure you understand the karma you created by your statement to me ...maybe your stomach grew ....Erica it's the begging of the end for your business you need to come to terms with that instead of lashing out to the hand that feeds you ...am sure barely feeds you now a days ....Good luck I hope you find your peace in this world and it will only be with gratitude.
