Oh my gosh
I don't even like sushi but was dragged here by my friends while visiting from Australia. The food was amazing. The Miso soup was really tasty, usually it feels like a bowl of hot salty water but not this one. I also had pork belly which pretty much melted in my mouth and the tempura battered vegetable had a batter that was incredibly light and tasty. My 3 other friends were also as excited with their meals. Both the Chef and staff are what you would expect to find in a posh restaurant. The locals have no idea what they are missing. Definately will be detouring to this place next time we are in the US.
Be the first to ReplyA hidden gem but won’t be for long!
First, it’s a little hard to find and you need to park next door or across the street. The area can be a little sketchy at night. Other than location, the place is great. It is very small by Las Vegas standards so the service was very good. I had the unagi and the slices of eel were large. Also had the kamikaze roll which was excellent. For dessert, had mochi. Yuzu was my favorite.

Wow! My wife and I loved our dinner while overnighting in Vegas for an early flight. Sushi is the best I’ve had in years. The owner/chef REALLY cares about your experience. Plus the Miso Creme Brûlée is amazing and only available there. You must try this if looking for a world class meal at local restaurant prices.

What an experience. My girlfriend and I came in at about 2pm so it was not too busy. We were able to talk alot with the owner and staff, and they made sure our drinks never went down below a quarter.
The set up of the restaurant is beautiful and clean. The menu Is expertly put together. I tried a truffle mushroom sushi roll which was absolutely to die for. The fish was fresh, the rice was fresh, and the soy sauce is made in house!
Highly recommend visiting Sushi Joe's! This is a sushi spot you'd expect to be inside Caesar's or the Bellagio because of the high quality. But you don't have to pay Vegas Strip Prices.
One last thing, there is something for everyone. They have non fish plates that are absolutely delicious. My photos speak for themselves.
Looking for your local sushi joint off the strip?
Amazing experience !!!
The owner Joe is soooo kind and welcoming. They have spot on top grade sushi. The rolls, sashimi and dessert are delicious ! It’s quick and the price is totally affordable!
Joe has previously been lead chef several high end sushi restaurants, his passion for creating beautiful creative sushi and treating customers shines through with each dish. The place is a real gem, only wish it was open back in the 90's while I was attending UNLV.
I went to Joe's this afternoon for a lunch business meeting. As I often do, because I'm too lazy to make a decision, I asked Joe to bring out his favorites. I've been to Japan 7 times and due to my poor spoken Japanese I often order with the chef. Joe served our little party a variety of Sushi, tempura, pork belly, tuna rolls and my an amazing salted caramel creme brulee for desert...for the record I also ate the mango mochi just because it was calling me.
Just go for it by yourself or bring some friends. Sit at the bar and talk to a Kyoto native who prepares your sushi.
