Favorite spot in the bay
A gem in the bay, love the vibe and absolutely love the food. So saucy, flavorful, innovative, an experience every time I go. Go for early dinner or late to avoid the line, regardless, I think it's always worthy.
Be the first to ReplyVery relaxed taco place
You have to order before seating. There are limited seats in an outdoor setting with heaters. The menu is limited, maybe 5-6 different taco options. The ones we have had were quite tasty, though
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for "California Fresh" type of tacos
Great place for "California Fresh" type of tacos. If you're looking for authentic Mexican juicy meat tacos, this isn't that type of taco joint. But if you're into Californian cuisine, especially if you're a vegetarian, then the food here is great. And if you're not, they have at least one non-veggie dish as well (though I haven't tried it). They rotate their menu frequently, which is posted on a chalk board outside their window. I think what I enjoyed most about my dishes were the salsas that topped the dishes.
Tostada de jitomate (5 out of 5): Tostada with warm roasted vegetables. The almond and olive salsa topping were what made this a 5.
Charred broccoli taco (4 out of 5): Nice roasted veggie taco, but didn't have a nice salsa like the others. And the radish, while beautiful, really doesn't add any flavor.
Calabacitas taco (5 out of 5): Summer squash and pickled onions. The cashew basil jalapeno crema was what made this a 5.
Excellent, Unpretentious, Delicious, Cheap
Amazing hand-pressed tortillas that you can smell cooking before you walk up, creative and inventive, quality ingredients, gorgeous presentation, no single-use plastic, good local beers, nice, heated outdoor patio, cheap & cheerful! What more could you want?
