TAKUMI OMAKASE New York Reviews from The Last Year
Nothing bad but nothing good.
Not worth the $89 price tag. The experience as not special, no one was warm or welcoming. Felt like I got ripped off. They just sat you down and started putting things in front of you without a proper welcome or intro. The fish was decent quality but not great, I felt I could have went to a local sushi place and been happy. There are so many better experiences for omasake I would never come back here or recommend it. Felt inauthentic, subpar and not special .
Fresh fish and great appetizers for a great price.
Service was quick but detailed. I was able to get a table seat with a last minute reservation on Mother's Day which I was grateful for. The restaurant is small and quaint. I would definitely come again
My first Omakase experience at Takumi was nothing short of
My first Omakase experience at Takumi was nothing short of incredible. Despite being a budget-friendly option, the quality of the dishes blew me away - especially the eel and foie gras! The chefs are not only masters of their skills but also excellent educators, providing insights into each dish's origin and preparation. Plus, the BYOB policy for wine adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience. I'll definitely be returning very soon.

I came here for a double date and it was one of the best
I came here for a double date and it was one of the best omakase spots I've been to! They seated us right away and the sushi chef was so accommodating. He would adjust the wasabi amount according to our preferences and made sure to ask if we didn't like anything to let him know. The vibes are so comfortable as there many other people there having a good time talking to one another. Definitely an amazing omakase spot and would love to come back!
Extremely unsatisfied and left disappointed.
Compared to the other fast sushi joints, this one would rank the lowest. First it felt a bit stuffy. Second, the quality of fish weren't to me all that great. Each piece of sushi was extremely small. The rice was ok but it didn't feel like it was prepared well. Eh. Just a big eh.

Relatively new, opened within the past year & has an a really great vibe. About 4 tables and then the sushi bar- really small, but we were able to get reservations pretty easily. The quality and assortment of the Omakase was incredible. The staff is helpful & sweet. Definitely recommend, great value.

Good value for Manhattan at $89 and BYOB! Fish overall was pretty good minus the tuna at the beginning - it grossed my husband out and I thought it tasted slightly spoiled/fishy. We drank a bunch of sake and took shots with the sushi chef- didn't get any extras though... bar is very crowded and the space is small. If you're craving decent fish and don't want to pay the upcharge for alcohol I would recommend this place.

Pretty good sushi for an affordable price! Came here with some friends and they want to try all the omakase in NYC. Takumi is top notch.

My partner and I decided to try Takumi based on some recommendations, and overall, we were glad that we went! The staff and chefs were friendly, informative, and very attentive. The food itself was very fresh and high quality, and we felt like we got a good value for our experience. We didn't have any pieces that were particularly unique (e.g; wouldn't find at similarly priced omakase experiences), but everything we had was delicious. Also, it's nice that they have BYOB (we brought our own sake).
Great for casual Japanese Omakase
Well run casual Omakase. Several seating per night. 3 Appetizers, 11 pcs Sushi, 1 Hand Roll, all for $89. Good quality fish. Only draw back is everything was served within 1 hour. Felt satisfied with the foods but a bit rushed.
