Excellent burrito!
We had lunch here and it was great! I had a carnitas burrito, as a seasoned burrito eater, I was a fan! This is Mexican home style cooking, and it works!

Everything tasted fresh, right down to the refried beans. I had a chicharron gordita, and it took longer to cook but was worth the wait. There was enough food that I couldn't finish. She had a decent pork taco and an asada taco that was another five stars all by itself. It was so good I'll have to order something asada next time.
The prices didn't seem out of line at all and the service was great. We've been searching out more small independent places lately and this has moved high on the list of great Mexican food for us.
Great Menudo!
Wandered in here with some friends for breakfast while riding our bikes in Santa Barbara. Saw it on the street, pulled in to read the menu and stayed to eat! We all ordered food and were very impressed with flavors and the quantity! I had the Menudo and it was great! Very flavorful, lots of tripe and not greasy
or oily. A place we will definitely return to.
BEST ASADA IN SANTA BARBARA!!
Their Asada burrito is so delicious and massive! I go here often because I have tried other places Asada in SB, but this place is the best by far.

Off the beaten path and not much to look at, but the food was very good. I tried 3 tacos with different meats (including their special of the day) and all were wonderful. The salsa bar had everything from mild to major chili, and all were great.
I will come back on my next drive through SB.
stop the car!! great mexican food!
I love funky little taco joints! this one has great tacos, but lots of other dishes as well; busy, but not long waits. What can be better than sopes stuffed with spicy pork and lots of vegetables. Oh, and a mexican coke. Not expensive for the quantity of food. Two tiny tables outside are ok, a bit noisy.

They have a standard mix of sauteed fresh vegetables - green peppers, onions, zucchini, etc. that you can substitute for meat in any dish, or have in addition to meat. The grilled fish tacos, which included the vegetables, were excellent. The salsas I tried were all too spicy for me to taste anything but the burn.

There are 5 tables if you want to eat in, but this appears to be more of a to go operation. Fresh papaya drink and horchata, plus they have breakfast all day, mole and chile rellenos. We ordered food for 5 and everything was correct! Good quantities - enough for lunch the next day.

I am sad to report since my last review - it hasn't gotten any better - what you get for your $$$ - we decided to eat there again as we have always enjoyed and appreciated the freshness and tastiness of their food. One liners from our recent visit:
- now their very homemade fresh delicious salsas are so hot that it almost leaves blisters on your lips - mentioned this to them before, they said it was due to the hotness of the chile peppers - well other Mexican food places tone down the heat in their salsas - it's almost like if they make it so hot, you won't use very much
- they charge these over-top-prices and still serve on paper plates (smaller ones than before) and you're encouraged to clear your own table
- I mentioned to the staff that the carnitas they serve in their tostadas and other dishes have a lot of fat / gristle - this time, I again mentioned this to them, same thing
- if you want beans in your tostada, you have to pay extra
- they used to use fresh grated cheese, now its just a little bit of packaged cheese on top
- the tortilla at the bottom of the tostada was harder than cardboard
- I did find 3 beans at the bottom
- the avocado was sliced but old
I could go on and on - but you get the drift, we used to see a lot of regular patrons coming in but now not very many - have been to other Mexican restaurants on Milpas, ran into people who used to eat there regularly, they recognized us and stated for the same reasons above why they don't go there any more.
I hope the owner gets wise and get back to where his restaurant was a few years ago.
Sorry that we are moving on to where our business is really appreciated!
